One of my favorite Agnetha sung songs, Her angelic voice really shines on I've been waiting for You.
So happy to see you again with a new reaction to ABBA in our ABBA Sundays
and specialy thanks for do it again
"I've been waiting for You" after was blocked by CZcams o Musikladen
"I've been waiting for You"
is a beautiful, happy ballad of hope in love,
magnificently performed by the blonde Agnetha,
and a fantastic chorus shared with Frida in impeccable harmony.
They recorded it in 1974, a few months after ABBA's Eurovision triumph with "Waterloo",
and it was only the B-side of the single "So long"
(that was not very successful)
also was edit as a single only in N.Zeland (#8) and Australia
And its integrated their third album, self-titled "ABBA" (1975)
From these álbum ABBA did four singles in UK:
So long (only #93)
I do I do I do I do I do (#38)
S.O.S. (#6 and first of 18 singles Top 10 consecutives)
Mamma Mía (#1)
There is a beautiful video, it is from the TV special "The best of ABBA" (1976):
czcams.com/video/ueeRcRn-owg/video.html
(that unfortunally CZcams or Musikladen blocked)
ABBA also performed it live on their 1977 tour of Europe and Australia,
it's a beautiful moment in "ABBA The Movie"
these video shows it, with an audio taken by a fan
is a little more slowly than the recording session
It is very difficult to make a ranking with the best ABBA songs,
with so many of the highest level they have,
but even so
"I've been waiting for You"
would be in my Top 20 of ABBA
and in my Top 5 of those sung by Agnetha Fältskog
and in my Top3 ot the self-titled album ABBA (with S.O.S & Mamma Mía)
and I think that these is one of the most underrated ABBA songs
Thanks for another great reaction in our ABBA Sundays
I see you soon in the next
My best regards from
Buenos Aires Argentina
South America
was so fortunate to see ABBA live in Melbourne Australia Sidney Myer Music Bowl March 1977 been a huge fan forever ❤❤❤ ABBA = ABBASOLUTELY SWEDETASTIC still ABBA crazy all these years later
One of my very favourite Abba songs 💛 Agnethas vocals are amazing on this one. 💛
This is a great performance!👌
I don't think I've ever seen this video before... so thank you very much for that, AMIGO David.
Frida😍 wears those shorts and that makeup, as if she had just done 'Why Did It Have to Be Me' (maybe I'm wrong)...
Take care and have a wonderful week...
❤️🇨🇱👍
It was the same concert.
The actual clip in the film only begins on the second verse. Some fan has sliced together footage to complete the full song. The fan has also spliced in the first verse from the album recording with a bit of tinkering to give it a live feel and also slow down the speed to match the live second verse. Quite a good effort.
greetings from Australia! great reaction! This was our wedding dance song when my husband and I married 5 years ago. Keep up the great work!!
Thanks, great surprising choice, just didn't think of it. The voices are brilliant and the guitarist Lars Wallander (RIP) is fantastic. The version comes from the film, it's a shame that the whole concert isn't there. PS b-side of Mamma Mia in Central Europa.
Have a nice late summer Sunday (with us)!!!
The only pitty is that it is slower then the studio version. It is a beautifull song!
Beautiful song but it skipped slighly near the end.
