Hey Bros, I learned you two are in Georgia, a former Soviet state, have yall seen Metallica live from Moscow 1991 after the collapse of the Soviet Union?
P.s I really thought y'all were twins.
Just a fun song. Nothing deep. Nothing heavy. Just enjoying life.
You canât beat it.
Get home after a day of work and sit on the back patio and enjoy the sunset as the critters do their thing.
Canât beat it.
CCR rules. Great nostalgia.
PARNII!!!!! BORN ON THE BAYOU !!!!! FORTUNATE SON !!!!! It Came Out of The Sky!!!!
Down On The Corner, and Bad Moon Rising, have a similar vibe, as far as Creedence goes.
I ran around the house singing this song when it came out when I was 10 years old, and my mom was dancing with me. Canât express what a great era that was!
Oh - also "Fortunate Son" was an anti-war song.
UP AROUND THE BEND. is a REAL ROCKER!!!!
Yes!!!!!! Please :)
Yes
The long version of âHeard it through the grapevineâ is a banger. If you love jamming
Every one of their songs is unique, but brilliant. John Fogerty wrote them all. And John's voice carries it all. He is such a national treasure. John was school friends with Doug Clifford (drummer) and Stu Cook (backup guitar). The curly haired blonde is Tom Fogerty, John's older brother.
This song was from their album "Cosmos Factory." This was the first album I ever bought back around 1970, 50 years ago! Man oh man, how time flies! The guys in CCR met in junior high school in El Cerrito, near San Fransisco, California. They were all born around that area. John Fogerty was the leader of the band and drew the inspiration for their songs from what he imagined Louisiana and the Mississippi river were like. John Fogerty comes to Calgary, Alberta in western Canada every year and plays a concert or two. This is where I live and we love CCR, even after more than 50 years! He is still a big draw when he puts on a concert!
MIDNIGHT SPECIAL -- a slower song about being careful with the law - the "midnight special" is a prison train
Bro's, their "Born On The Bayou" is a banger!!. The 11-minute version of "I Heard It Through The Grapevine" is quite the jam!
Ditto
Guys. C c r. Those guys ruled in the 70.s. They have so many songs. They can play & sing their ass off.đđđ. Thanks for all your great reactions. đźâ„ïžâ„ïž
'Keep on Chooglin' is their best jam song. I don't know why no one ever suggests it. There is more to CCR than just the three minute radio hits!
Please please more of Creedance Clearwater revival.. you have just scratched the surface. This group has so many dimensions. John fogerty is in his 70s and still touring until covid. Tremendous songwriter singer and guitarist
CCR sings a lot about the simple things ... stuff that brings us happiness, yet we so often forget. They remind us that we can find happiness just lookin' out our back doors. BTW ... I LOVE what you Bros are doin'. Play safe.
Some of their BEST..."HAVE YOU EVER SEEN THE RAIN" along with "BORN ON THE BAYOU" and " I HEARD IT THOUGH THE GRAPEVINE" and "WHO'LL STOP THE RAIN" and "GREEN RIVER" and "BAD MOON RISING" and "RUN THROUGH THE JUNGLE" and "FORTUNATE SON" and "DOWN ON THE CORNER". I could go on and on and on but this is a good start!! Enjoy your reactions! GET YOUR CCR ON!!
Bands back then used to put classified ads in newspapers, magazines, and trade publications looking for singers, guitarists, bassists, drummers.
Lead singer's name is John fogerty he's still performs, you should check out some of his songs
The 1960's and 70's were an AMAZING time to be a teenager! EVERYONE had the idea that if you had a couple of friends that could halfway play guitar/drums and/or sing, you had as good a chance as anyone to be the next superstar band! CCR always had great songs. One of my favorites is Traveling Band". Check it out if you get a chance. Great reaction!
đ¶ đž CCR John Fogerty "Looking out the back door is My favorite blast from the past thx guys đ
Perfect American summertime driving song! Roll down the windows, crank up to volume, sing along!!
âBorn On The Bayouâ canât recommend it enough. You wonât be disappointed!
Bands used to put in these fake endings to mess with DJ's, who would start to speak, only for the music to start up again!
Sweet Hitchhiker...Someday never comes....they have a lot of real good songs, keep up the good work.
My daughter used to make her dad and I play this song over and over again when she was about 4 years old.
Your daughter has great taste in music.
Now some Elvis, MJ, Bee Gees and some more, and she's set for life.:D
@@OriginalPuro , she grew up on all of the music you mentioned and much more. My middle granddaughter is named after a Pink Floyd song.
You're still on the fringe of their best songs with many more to go. Proud Mary, Fortunate Son, Up Around the Bend, Have You Ever Seen the Rain, Who'll Stop the Rain, Heard it through the Grapevine, Bad Moon Rising, Down on the Corner, Green River, Born on the Bayou, Hey Tonight.... And then try Fogerty solo Centerfield, Rock and Roll Girls, Old Man Down the Road.
DOWN ON THE CORNER is a great song, must listen đ¶ đ
"BORN ON THE BAYOU" WILL HAVE YOU WET YOUR PANTS. One of the greatest vocal performances ever. And dirty, dirty, dirty swampy riffs.
Hey Guys, you gotta react to their all out jam tune "Keep On Chooglin"... It will get you moving like you woun't believe it ..IT"S A BANGER...
Give Put A Spell on You and Run Through the Jungle a reaction. These are two great songs by CCR.
Great reaction! John Fogerty is a treasure! You would love âLong as can see the lightâ great great song!
I lived through those times and I long for them
*I put a spell on you - creedence clearwater revival* ...... insanely good cover
"hey tonight","up around the bend","midnight special","Suzy Q","I put a spell on you","long as I can see the light" and many more classics âźïž
Such a Happy, feel good song! We could use songs like these in these hard times, but we'll never get the musical greatness of the 60's 70's and early 80's again. Everything now is auto tone, and no one plays their own instruments. How times have changed! (not for the better)
These guys are from my back yard here in the San Francisco area. I'm 73 years old, been collecting records since 1955. I've been a fan of these guys since 1968 and have seen them numerous times. ... as they say; I may be old but I've seen all the great bands. Somewhere down the line I hope you react to Joe Bonamassa... may I suggest "Angel of Mercy" live from the Greek Theater. Guaranteed to blow you away.
The art of the 2 minutes 30 second song is very demanding and yet groups like CCR, the Beatles, and so many others perfected ii.
Youâre right, thatâs all they needed and they were done!
Congratulations...40K!!
You guys are part of my every day...Midwest USAđșđČ đżđđżđ
Their ability to create amazing music was extraordinary. They released three albums in 1969, and all three were filled with great song after great song.
I think I was in San Francisco when I first heard these guys. They had a cool sound. 1968 or 1969? Somewhere in there.
You should listen to Heard it through the grapevine. Its fantastic.
John Fogerty's voice is amazing â„ïž Must react to "Down on the Corner" and "Have You Ever Seen the Rain" ! You'll love them both, I promise.
The 90% of CCR songs was a hit.
John Fogerty has posted acoustic music during the pandemic, just him playing an acoustic guitar and singing. He's still such a phenomenal talent!
CCR is Americana. Their music has withstood the test of time. Truly classic.
Love love CCR
FOGERTY HAD THAT AWESOME VOICE FOIR SURE, LOTSAAAA LOTSA GR8 SONTGS TOO OF COURSE! :)
CCR is such a great band and they were only together for 2 years. They had about 20 hit songs in that period! Amazing timeless music. Try listening to Proud Mary, Fortunate Son, Run through the Jungle, Born on the Bayou, Bad Moon Rising, Have you ever seen the rain, Travelin Band, I put a Spell on You, Lodi, Long as I can see the Light, Sweet Hitchhiker, Green River, Hey Tonight..... There are more
âSweet Hitchhikerâ đđŒđđŒđđŒđđŒđđŒPlease & thank youđ
Listen to the lyrics. The character in the song is hallucinating. It's a great song.
John Fogerty wrote this for his then 3 year old son. Fogerty said he got the inspiration from Dr. Seuss ....
Guys - this song is essentially about BEING AT YOUR DACHA !!!
Songs back then packed so much power into 3 minutes or less. You guys are old souls in young packages
On my way to college for the first time in fall of 1970 listening to Creedence, Zep and Steppenwolf on 8 Track. Fun times!
Life was so much more carefree in general last half of 20th century. Mostly fun and joyful, the music made to reflect good times
âBorn on the bayouâ next please! #Creedence
Born on the Bayou is a good choice for the next Creedence.
You won't be disappointed.
Did a lot of partying to CCR when I was younger...great party music!!!! I was lucky to be a teenager in theâ70s!!! đđ»đšđŠđ„đ„°
The joy of music cannot be stopped.
This song took on a whole new meaning to me after they legalized weed in Illinois. Lol!
You might ask yourselves why John mentions 'Buck Owens' by name in the song. 'Put a spell on you' is another great CCR song.
The story goes that one day he was tripping on acid or something and locked himself out of the house. So he sat down on the porch and started to hallucinate, seeing things. So he wrote a song about it. Listen to how he describes the things he's seeing. Funny.
The line goes, " A wonderus apparition ( the Drug ) provided by a magician" ( drug dealer )
I doubt it. CCR was not really into the drug scene.
Makes perfect sense to me. I was never into drugs...until I stumbled across 'em...but that was decades ago. LOL!
@@guidosarducci oh bless me father Guido for I have sinned ...and I'll continue to sin all my life. While looking out my back door! Do do do!
Haha! Love your name!
This song was partly written for John Fogerty's son Josh, who at the time was three years old. Fogerty said: "I knew he would love it if he heard me on the radio singing - doot doot doo, lookin' out my back door." In the song lyrics there is a reference to a parade passing by which John says was inspired by a Dr. Seuss book that he read as a kid titled To Think (That) I Saw It On Mulberry Street. >>
Much like The Beatles "Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds," many people thought this was about drugs when it was really an innocent song inspired by a child. According to the drug theory, the "Flying Spoon" was a cocaine spoon, and the crazy animal images were an acid trip. This was even less plausible than the Beatles misinterpretation, since Creedence Clearwater Revival was never into psychedelic drugs.
This is straight from Songfacts so the imagery in the lyrics made it easy to misinterpret the song.
It Came Out Of The Sky is a rocker and Long As I Can See The Light is a cool ballad by them.
Long As I Can See The Light is blues perfection
This is one of my all-time favorite songs from CCR!!
YOU CAN TAKE SO MANYYYYY SONGS BETWEEN 65-85 AND IT'S JUST WHEN MUSIC WAS AT IT'S VERYYYYY BEST TALENT WISE, CREATIVENESS AND SO MUCH MORE YOU GUYS! :) `1,000'S OF SONGS TO LISTEN TO THANK GODDDD!
It reminds me of when John Lennon and Eric Clapton did "You make me dizzy Miss Lizzie" Toronto 1969. That was real feel-good rock and roll (even if Clapton was whacked).
LOVE CCR!!
Check out "Up Around the Bend"
The slide riff is legendary for a reason, but there are so many great tunes from these boys.
CCR is a legendary band that you should familiarize yourself with, in general.
Who'll Stop the Rain??
John Forgerty the lead singer is in his 70ty's and still singing and giving concerts and sounding as good as ever.
They were the masters of the short hit single. It's definitely feel-good music.
This was released in 1970. 'Born on the Bayou' is a banger and 'Fortunate Son' an antiwar anthem are must hears. The 70s were a blast, we had great music, great cars and life was good, well after the Vietnam war anyway.
I think at this point you should react to "Teach your children" by Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young from their album "Deja vu"
Green River, Pagan Baby, Ramble Tamble, I put the spell on you, As long as I can see the light.
These guys are from right down the freeway from where I live, El Cerrito, California. God I love being from the Bay Area! So much good music!
You have to listen to their cover of âHeard it through the grapevine!â
So so many great songs from this band! Enjoy.
Part of the San Franciisco sound, they had a lot of big hits.
CCR and lead singer John Fogerty are awesome! You might also like their songs "Have You Ever Seen the Rain?" and "Down on the Corner" and "Proud Mary."
One of CCR"s best - " Born On The Bayou " . Brilliant swamp rock.
Music is timeless. If I could take you back to the â60âs you might enjoy it,but then again there has been so many inventions and tech advances, you would be amazed at what we have now but not then.
CCR has so many great songs. They're all short because back in the day, if you wanted to have success, you had to get played on the radio. And the radio stations wouldn't play any songs much longer than 3 minutes. I'd recommend "Up Around the Bend" and "Green River" (plus a couple dozen more). They're anti-war song from the era was "Run Through the Jungle", which is also great.
You are so right the sixties and seventies had the best music and the best cars. Fun times.
So Creedence Clearwater Revival is AMAZING! The singer is John Fogerty. The drummer is his brother, Tom Fogerty. They had a bad falling out that led to a court case that lasted almost 30 years before it was settled. The 2000s John Fogerty song "Mystic Highway" recaps his troubles before the lawsuit was settled. But about two weeks ago John Fogerty put out a song called "Weeping In The Promised Land" that speaks DIRECTLY to the events in the US in 2020, and comparing Donald Trump to Pharoah in the sacred texts. If you're globally aware, it's frighteningly prescient.
Icons...Swamp Music! đđđđđđ
6 albums in 2 years, at least one hit on each. Swamp rock!
This came out when I was still pretty young. We only had AM radio in the Dodge wagon. The reception would fade out every time we went under a bridge or overpass and come back when we were through it. That would be 1970 Los Angeles if I were able to take you back in time to where I was. Old LA was the best.
I was 15 in 1960 ,so I lived through all of the 60's ,though they say that if you remember the 60's you weren't really there LOL and I did my share of LSD ,psilocybin ,peyote ,mescalin and assorted other mind expanders . I had a loft in the East Village starting in 1963 and lived the hippie lifestyle for a few years . It was a truly amazing time and place to grow up .
You boys are two....WILD AND CRAZY GUYS!
Whoâll stop the rain, youâll love it. I truly enjoy are reactions đ¶đ¶đ¶đ
It's amazing how many hits they had in such a short time!
I grew up listening to CCR I love them
Their best: Born on a Bayou & Have You Ever Seen Rain & their protest song Fortunate Son
do the B side to this - " Long as I Can See the Light"
If we get a time-machine and can go back to the 60's/70', I'm having a party when we get there. First order of business is find
Kid Charlemagne. (WTF happened?)
3:32 "i love this part" on a first play through killed me XD
Joyful John Brings it ON!!!!!!!
