You don’t need a porch to enjoy this beautiful piece of music (from a man still going strong today with more music in his little finger than most pop stars of today).
John Fogerty thought his son Josh, age 3 at the time. would love this song ... and that is who he wrote it for. In the song there is a reference to a parade of magical things passing by. wünschen, die so mit Herz dabei sind! Erinnert mich sehr an meine
I honestly love this guy's voice, so iconic/distinct.
No one sings like him!!!
@Sean moynihan And he won!
@Sean moynihan yes...for "Old Man Down The Road"
@Sean moynihan he sure did.
One of the best soul or rock voices of all time. That's for sure.
Since we have no other option right now than to sit on the porch and look out of the backdoor, we should rather enjoy this beautiful piece of music :D
Johannes Weiss absolutely ☺️
Yep just kick back with a pellet gun and some classic rock and shoot some pop cans.
You don’t need a porch to enjoy this beautiful piece of music (from a man still going strong today with more music in his little finger than most pop stars of today).
Des princesses
Johan
This song makes me happy af
Rock Gods! Every song they put out was a hit! I wish they would have stayed together longer. Thank you CCR!!
John Fogerty is a f*cking national treasure ❤️
Kim Crowell not really, he turned into a leftist, it's as sad as what happened to Cat Stevens
Is he in Ccr?
😎😗😍😘😯😟😭😨🏆😄♿😤🌊😇🔥
agreed.
says mooore about you then about him
John Fogerty thought his son Josh, age 3 at the time. would love this song ... and that is who he wrote it for. In the song there is a reference to a parade of magical things passing by. John said it was inspired by a Dr. Seuss book he read as a kid, titled "And to Think I Saw it on Mulberry Street." What a cute and happy little tune; I love it!!
***** here's some more Jean; when CCR recorded this video, the guys refused to speak with john because his ego was so big and was putting down his brother jim. sad info, i know
I was under the impression that this song was about John taking an acid tab when back from touring? Maybe wrong, but I'm sure I read that somewhere.
CityGov i heard it was about heroin ..
Marcel Parizal No it isn't about heroin or any other drugs, but like "I am the Walrus" and "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds" from the Beatles {also not about drugs}, this CCR song sounds like one hell of an acid trip if one is unfamiliar with the backstory.
me too!! but the shoot people say makes you wonder
One of the most fun tunes. Loved it since a baby almost 40 years ago.
This song just makes you i feel like heaven and peace could be found anywhere even your backyard brings the good out of anyone😊
Simply impossible to imagine my 60s without CCR, the Beatles, the Kinks, the Stones, the Who and so many other wonderful bands and musicians.
Look at these guys... They are absolutely loving what they are doing..... Absolutely brilliant ❤️

The summer I got my drivers license(52 years ago) I took my Friend, Becky, to see CCR live in Bloomington, Minnesota🌹Great concert!
This video is ancient and was probably made for little money, but it's still better than 95% of the stuff out there.
I have to agree with you Tim
+Julia Mauk Yes I like this old vid Its like raw
Tommy Black, Yeah good way to put it Tommy they just say back and rocked
+Tim Russell Actually, this song is about heroine addiction... its upbeat tune kinda confuses people, but there it is... :)
Agreed. I was born in 1987 and most of the modern stuff does not appeal to me whatsoever. I love music like this and my job has introduced me to other great songs.
I love this generation. I can listen to music from any generation on demand.
I have fond memories of listening to this with my dad. A dad is so important in a child’s life make or female.
I can’t help but listen to this song constantly. It’s such a simple tune, but it has so much soul. One of the best bands out there!
Great song, Great band
Hard to believe they never had a #1 hit!😜. I was young but remember them! Then their agent ran away with their money! I hope Karma got him!
@@irazzimmer85 I was reading how Hendrix agent robbed him blind and its most likely he had Jimi killed because he was leaving him. He died in a plane crash awhile after Jimi died. I hope he was awake when it went down that would be karma ye.
Don’t think enough people appreciate this lyric enough ...”bother me tomorrow, today I found no sorrow” This is so many levels deep for such a seemingly simplistic song on the surface.
I think its "bother me tomorrow, today I'll buy no sorrow."
«Won't you take a ride on the flyin' spoon...» What is it talking about?😀
@@barnichua The "magic spoon" refers to heroine use and it sending you to another place (limbo?), mentally. "Today, I'll buy no sorrow" refers to not buying heroine.
@@v.e.7236 I thought it actually was about heroin, though I think the second sentence means something like «I won't listen to your dramas» because of being high and unconcerned. Regards
I also thought he said "found" at first😂
This is a perfect song puts me in a good mood instantly!!
My friend "introduced me^ me to Creedence in 1972. We played all their songs on a jukebox in Frontier Bar, Rapid City
Music is the closest thing we have to a time machine
I guess all the books have been burned.
Never thought of it that way but so true...
Best comment
If we change the cars and outfits and style we’d be back in the 70’s 👍🏼😂
Technology kinda leaves the past behind us but at the same time keeps us connected to the past. Double edged sword.
Love the casual setting they have in the video. They all look like a group of friends just having fun an afternoon. Love this song.
Tuka se ginda
Which is ironic considering the tensions that were brewing within the band at the time and which eventually led to them splitting up.
How do you know its a afternoon if the video is black and white?
+Nuno Azenha Zwippie92 did not say it was in the afternoon. Clearly, it says "They look like"....... Sort of like, your comment makes you look like a moron but you may not be, maybe you just have a poor grasp of the English language which does not mean you are a moron.
Nuno Azenha There's a color version but the Channel upload it Black and white
CCR WAS AMAZING...
look at the happiness on their faces as they are playing their music and singing. you can see the joy that they are doing what they truly love
They are also very high haha
Thats good clean drugs
High or not I'm thinking this shit-ass world would be better with these ol boys playing for us 👍
The band has a good chemistry. Very nice to see.
@@melchorbangaoil8699 the bandmembers despised each other
He wrote this song for his son. The happiness on thier faces as they play is great. This song brings so many happy memories
These guys are doing what they love and having so much fun playing music
This is definitely the best CCR song by far. Everything is just so beautiful, RIP Tom Fogerty.
John Fogerty lead vocals , Tom Fogerty guitar, Stu Cook bass , Doug " Cosmo " Clifford Drums
I love how John Fogerty is just sitting down chilling and strumming his guitar a giving a nice smile. he just looks so happy
Living his best life
Everyone looks so happy then 1972 came around and to this day john hates stu and doug
Cant belive he got so ripped off
Until the rest started suing him. smh
It’s a sit down and tap your foot kinda song! 😄
LYRICS: For those that want to sing along to this masterpiece
Just got home from Illinois, lock the front door, oh boy!
Got to sit down, take a rest on the porch
Imagination sets in, pretty soon I'm singin'
Doo, doo, doo, lookin' out my back door
There's a giant doin' cartwheels, a statue wearin' high heels
Look at all the happy creatures dancin' on the lawn
Dinosaur Victrola, listenin' to Buck Owens
Doo, doo, doo, lookin' out my back door
Tambourines and elephants are playin' in the band
Won't you take a ride on the flyin' spoon? Dood-n-doo-doo
Wonderous apparition provided by magician
Doo, doo, doo, lookin' out my back door
Tambourines and elephants are playin' in the band
Won't you take a ride on the flyin' spoon? Dood-n-doo-doo
Bother me tomorrow, today I'll buy no sorrows
Doo, doo, doo, lookin' out my back door
Forward troubles Illinois, lock the front door, oh boy!
Look at all the happy creatures dancin' on the lawn
Bother me tomorrow, today I'll buy no sorrows
Doo, doo, doo, lookin' out my back door

thanx brother
No doubt, as high as the Empire State Building, when those lyrics were written.
Im a Nurse Assistant who works with veterans diagnosed with Alzheimer’s/Dementia and Everytime I play CCR during meal times, they light up and sing along at times! Music truly is a beautiful thing!
Thinking of my dad when im listen to this song, we played it on his funeral. This was one of his favourite songs..
Miss him so much. Love you dad.. 💓💓💓
That would have been so awesome yeah 4 u
My fav ccr song. I could listen to this song a hundred times.
Cool man. Listening to it 20x in a row right now.
Me too I love the video. there all smiles.
I would, too. I'm surprised I'm not burned out on it from the Science Channel commercials.
HalfEatenMedia especially on the highway driving
HalfEatenMedia I love this song, but what I find hilarious is this video is just the happiest and most positive song you'll ever hear, but the comment section is filled with negative comments. Can anyone say ironic? XD
May 18, 2024 bee boopin’ with CCR!!
Happy birthday 79 today!❤🎉

Elite? we are supreme beings
This is a song that I never get tired of listening even if heart it over and over...
if you like this you might like my brothers music. his name is Stu Morris
I grew up with these guys on the radio, met them once in Cave Junction. Always happy to hear their music.
I don't care if these guys are high or not. In this video they look like they are genuinely happy to be sitting around making good music.
They're not high, just to clarify. They were against drugs very much so.
dreamdream011
A group of friends just being genuinely happy making music and being alive beats anything drugs can conjure up anyways.
Donny, you're out of your element!
@Antonio Sapienza We've got a whole team of investigators working on it. In shifts!
