I'm beginning to realize how lucky I am to have been a teenager during the 60s and young adult during the 70s
Me also... CCR was my 2nd favorite group. Led zeppelin
was #1.. John is still performing in his 70s. You must hear Gladys Knight's cover of this song also. They were considered rock, but mostly did blues sounding. Thats why I liked them so much
How can you say your first reaction when you've heard before. Lol
Me too!
Exactly we were blessed so much talent, diverse groups with great music. I guess the stars were aligned.
Well, I was a teenager during the 70âs. And we had no idea how lucky we had it.
You know there is an extended version of this song with like 5 minutes of jamming at the end with some epic guitar playing. :)
Oh man so sad not to hear the jam session it's so cool :D
The only way to hear it.
yeah I came here to say the same thing.
A couple of more great CCR songs.
Keep on Chooglin (live) This is a great Jam
Ramble Tamble (Stuido)
I'd love to see your reaction but even if you don't react to them you have to listen!!!
I'm not sure exactly when they were popular. I'm 79 years old but I still like the music. Tell your Brother Pat to stop throwing dagger's at you with his eye witch country are you from
I always loved John Fogerty's voice, the way he sings "I hoyed it through the grapevine"
There's actually a longer version of this thats around 11 minutes. There's a ton of solos at the end and it's a total groove. You guys should check it out
I 100% agree.
54 yrs old and this is my favorite CCR song. Reminds me of the California Raisin Commercial, you must look that up and watch it.
Not their song admittedly
Yes....I kind of thought of that, too! Minus that BASS, ....yadda yadda......yadda
I heard it through the grapevine is an expression, meaning you heard something by gossip, or something that you weren't supposed to hear. Marvin Gaye is a must on this song. Also Marvin Gaye's "Sexual Healing" is so fantastic, and I haven't heard anyone reacting to it.
I had a couple reactors actually do sexual healing....I can't remember right now whom it was tho ...been awhile....but great song đ
It come from hearing it over the phone. The cords on telephone were all twisty back ing the day; kinda like a grape vine.
I would like to add why grapevine is the symbolism. Grapes grow in bunches. People like to group together in "bunches".
The vine has many bunches.
It is a network in a strange way if you allow your mind to go there.
I love the comparisons. :)
@@bethshadid2087, I replied hours ago, but YT have been wonky today. So many comments I left were deleted. I said I hadn't heard it yet, but will look.
Sexual Healing has to be my favorite Marvin Gaye pure soul.
The Marvin Gaye version cut you open. Whatâs amazing about that version is that the mask of calmest did not contain the vulnerability oozing from every note.
It takes a lot of guts for CCR to cover a song.. this beloved.
They did this song so much justice.. it takes you to a different planet!!.
They performed it almost like blacks
John Fogerty's voice always stood out to me growing up, as being one of the best in the business, great reaction gentlemen!!
Love your appreciation for CCR, one of the best groups from the 70s. Next CCR to react to? "Born on the Bayou", could be your new favorite :)
Great suggestion!
One of my favorites to dance to!
Y es. More of their blues songs
@@broaction5343 YES gotta listen to Ziggy here & the other subs .. "Born on the Bayou" .. SRSLY!!!!
CCR is the ultimate feel-good music. Dudes! You have to listen to the full, long version of this song. It's over 11 minutes. Seriously, do yourselves (and us) a favor and react to the full version.
"Proud Mary" is an incredible CCR song. Became maybe even more famous after Tina Turner sung it. Tina is also great. đ
Hey George & Patrick! Its Jen!
Damn! George was feeling the FUNK in this song. Its a vibe!! I was smiling watching you my friend. Patrick hearing something "through the grapevine" is a slang term for hearing a rumor from someone.
Many will mention Marvin's version. Marvin maintains some of the funk but rather than the gravel in the voice in the chorus puts his one of a kind R&B sound on it. It's smooth.
CCR was pure Calif. I miss the 60's.
Creedence Clearwater Revival is one of my All-Time Favorite Rock n' Roll Bands!!!! There's and will not be anything ANYTHING like them in the world EVER!!!! I want you to listen to "Long As I Can See The Light."
Love this song.. " herd it through the grapevine" is a American saying that means, you hear something through gossip instead of the person telling you themself.. Awsome song!
Okay now for all my older folks out there, who else wants a handful of raisins? I loved those dancing raisins, Gents please try Run Through The Jungle or Born on the Bayou!! Thanks for this.
This is a rock cover of a R&B song recorded by a number of Motown artists including Gladys Knight and Marvin Gaye.
Some of the greatest pipes ever..
CCR greatest track for me, was 'Have You Ever Seen The Rain'. They wrote a big part of the storybook of my life as a young teenager growing up back in the '60's and '70's and when I heard John Fogerty had written 'Rockin' All Over The World' I was so so happy.
Love that song....great request đ
CCR: 1967 to 1972; The Eagles: 1971 to 1980; The Beatles: 1960 to 1970; ABBA: 1972 to 1982 --- it's amazing how many albums and top hits these bands turned out in just a short period of time. And, then, largely at the height of their fame and popularity, the bands just disintegrate. :-(
Had a look on Google and this song, I Heard It Through The Grapevine was actually written by Norman Whitfield and Barrett Strong for Motown Records in 1966. It was recorded by various artists including Gladys Knight and the Pips and Marvin Gaye as I said in my previous comment. As I also said, this song has such a fantastic riff - I heard it first in the 1960s and I've never got tired of it. Again, according to Google this version by CCR was released in 1970. John Fogerty heard the Marvin Gaye version and he wanted to make it a bit more rock and roll - I think he did a great job!
This song reminds me of the "dancing raisins" tv commercial everytime I hear it, but CCR's version is so cool. Fogerty's voice is perfect. Loved your reactions.â€đ„
Hi Lisa .. Exactly my thoughts too .. the raisins! Those dried up grapes were sooo fun & all the rave .. LOL đ€Ł
@@ramonaalvarez7559 Lol. Hey, Ramona.đ€Ł It's funny how things stick in our heads!
@@lisamorrison2149 Fun & laughter goes an exceptioanally long ways these days. Besides I hear it adds time to ur life .. wink wink. B safe & well .. love from Georgia đâșïžâŁïž
The 11 minute version is mind blowing guys!
Don't know why, made me think of another band, a band you have not done, the Doobie Brothers, try "Black Water"
"Taking It To The Streets" and "What A Fool Believes," but Black Water first.
"Long Train Running" is another great Doobie Brothers track.
Yes to all of them đ€
Guys more ELO please? A concerto for a rainy day will blow your mind đđđ
THE WHO!!!!!!! MY GENERATION!!!!!!!!!!!! LIVE AT LEEDS!!!!!!!!!!!!
EPIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
CCR was and is just awesome, I love it
The long version is the true classic... believe me..it blows the short version you heard away.. please give that a review. You will not be disappointed
Ahhh now that's some good ole southern rock .. so much fun here. George in Georgia .. lol .. I actually thought U'd leave ur chair this time .. so that's what air dancing is .. hehe. Patrick .. 'heard it through the grapevine' .. "Did they write this when they were drunk?" Made me laugh .. too funny. Y'all know .. for some reason listening to Fogerty in this song made me think of Three Dog Night .. a first for me. Anywho guys .. awesome BroActions .. many thnx. Now gotta check out ur next post which I'm excited to see. đ€đŒâđŒ
For a bit of a change do cotton fields by CCR. You wonât believe the harmonies.
First concert I ever took my kids to. I went and saw them when I was little. These guys are legends
Born on the bayou is fire đ„ also run through the jungle , CCR where an incredible band so many great tracks .
CCR - âLong as I can see the lightâ
I'm telling you guys CCR- Sweet Hitchhiker is a great song . you have to react to. Banger!!!
Just tuning in guys ...Enjoy your show and your passion for these tunes from yesteryear .
Much appreciated!
Long version PLEASE đ
I saw him in the late nineties, and he still has the same voice today. He is just starting to show his age in his voice, slightly. One of the best bands ever, every guitarist has to learn at least two or three of their songs because the grooves are so killer
The best version ever. Fantastic group. Great reaction. The dude is really feeling that beat.
I didnât realize CCR did a cover of this great song, written by Norman Whitfield and Barrett Strong for Motown Records in 1966. Thanks for reacting to it. Marvin Gay also did an outstanding cover in 1968, which you should check out. Great reaction.
I love your natural reactions and enthusiasm!! Great reaction team! Keep up the excellent work!
CCR - not the usual suggestions: Hideaway, Pagan Baby, Feelin' Blue, It came out of the Sky, Keep on Chooglin, Ramble Tamble, Born to Move, Tombstone shadow, It's just a thought and many more.
John Fogerty is a classic. Wonderful, legendary vocals. John's songs, many stolen by his manager, are some of the finest songs ever written. Soulful beyond belief. Check out "Proud Mary" which became Tina Turner's signature song. Swamp/New Orleans music from this great California band. Love Fogerty's Les Paul Custom. 3 PAFs on his Black Beauty. Love it. Love CCR.
John Fogerty...still touring, saw him in 2019. Great show, voice is awesome.
I put a Spell On You, is another great song by CCR.
Glad to hear that creedence was thought of as good as the Beatles
Two different Bands
With both having lots of hits
That stand the hands of Time
Hello Again Bros, Just need to say that you MUST, MUST, MUST, MUST, MUST, MUST, listen to the long version of this song. (Did I say that you MUST hear this)!! I love your enthusiasm for all things music. This long version is just a magic jam session.
Dudes, you have GOT to listen to the extended version of this - this one is just the cut down radio version! The extended version will blow your mind!
Even as a 6 year old I just loved this groove grew up toâ€
Amazing quality of reacted songs in this channel. Always great to see you guys discover these gems
You REALLY have to hear Marvin Gaye's version - perfection !
They are beast I love every single song they cover or write. Thru were on the same level as the Beatles. Will recommended more song I. Love this bandđ„đ„đ„đ„đ„
I was lucky enough to see them live at Woodstock, celebrated my graduation and 18th birthday for 3 days at Woodstock.. I put a spell on you was as good as it gets.
Yeahhhh... Just, yeah. Pure joy. And I'm going to assume you've heard the extended version by now!
This is one of the best covers ever! I love this version of the Motown classic, which was first released by Gladys Knight and the Pips, becoming the biggest Motown hit ever. But then, Marvin Gaye recorded his version, which became an even bigger hit. That version was named one of the top 100 songs of all time, was inducted into the R&R Hall of Fame and is amazing. But, this version, by CCR, is my personal favorite.
I love listening to you guys react to songs. You really need to watch Beth Hart and Joe Bonamassa doing "I'd Rather Go Blind". Make sure to get their live version from a concert in Amsterdam. Beth is an unbelievable singer similar in style to Janice Joplin and Joe is one of the best guitarists in the world. He was a child prodigy as a guitarist. He was opening for BB King when he was 12 years old. The synergy between Beth and Joe is amazing. You will list this as one of your favorite performances of all.
This was a monumental hit from them. Marvin gaye sang this first then ccr. This is a great blue eyed soul music that came out of the 60's into the 70's. Great band
Hey Bros. Here is a suggestion to grow your channel:
* Create Playlist for each artist.
* Do three songs per artist at a time in one day, the loose but predictable intervals, like every 3 weeks, month, or 6 weeks.
* Come back to fav artists every so often.
* Start promoting binge watching the Playlist every time you react to an artist.
* For example, build Queen playlist w/min of 3 to 6 songs every month. Their catalog alone is over 300 songs!!
* Do a commentary on a whole album with excerpts from select songs, most notable and hidden gems. ie "Night at the Opera." (An album tells a story in itself.)
* React to an artist documentary and break it up into 15 min segments at a time. Maybe there will 8 parts. ie Queen documentaries and others like the new one about the BeeGees.
* Put your playlist in strict chronological order so channel newbies can go on the artist journey WITH you.
* Hey, I'd listen to the list again, but right now I can't find them.
* Dudes, your Queen fans alone will get to 100k!
* Thanks and Love your channel.
Try a 1968 Rock performance by the 3 piece British band Cream at San Francisco Fillmore West. The song is Crossroads . Eric Clapton guitar, Jack Bruce bass, Ginger Baker drums. I was in the front row having one of the happiest times of my life. The music of this era exploded in all directions and opened young peoples minds to all types of new experiences and the music tied it all together.
Please react to" Long as I can see the light" CCR
One of the better bands Fr that era....2 bad they were only 2gether 4 a short period of time.
Their songs r classics
2 bad the 2 bros never got over their rift b4 one of them died. RIP Tom...go gently into the night.
Fr across the waters
Canada đšđŠ
đ„âŁïžđ„hugs and all that jazz
Maybe their best song AND a stellar video/visual!!!!!
This is one of my all time favorite songs, along with Carry On My Wayward Son. I'm 65, but still play rhythm guitar. Age is irrelevant when it comes to taste in music/rhythm . I agree that this is my favorite of CCR songs.
CCR is good stuff. Their rabbit hole is deep. Grapevine has been covered many times. Fogerty solo,,,,Centerfield.đđđđ
I always loved this song in all it's renditions. CCR only added to it. Can never go wrong with CCR.!! You should see The Sunmaid Raisins.jam to it!! Lol
Sorry the California Raisins!!đ€Ł
You guys are old enough to remember the California raisins!
This was there best video. My son is 40 we had the album. It was a cartoon.
I love â€ïž how you guys pronounced W for a V. I heard though the grapewine đ
Marvin Gaye did the classic version of this song. Gladys Knight did great, too.
Been watching your reactions for a while now..I'm beginning to think you were both from another time as I watch the sheer joy and amazement on your faces as you appreciate the talent many of us grew up with !
Sing it JOHN N THE BAND. GOOD VIBE
Im so glad you did this song, its my favourite đ p.s i love Marvin Gaye version also,
We will check out his version too. Thanks :)
CCR is great American rock and roll music. If you want to hear another take on this song, try the Marvin Gaye version. He was one of the best on Motown in the 60s and 70s. The expression means along the line of hearing it from other people like gossip or rumors. John Fogerty still performs most of the CCR songs to this day. And the reason they broke up was because the other members wanted more creative control, due to the fact that John wrote most of the music and lyrics for the songs.
Grapevine American for gossip. Love CCR!
They didn't write it, it's a Marvin Gaye song that they covered really well âïžâ„ïž another song CCR covered well was "I put a spell on you"
You guys are great KEEP GOING!! BROS
this is my favorite CCR song too!
This is a classic Motown song- but CCR made it their own! A Motown exploration would be great too. So much incredible music came from there.
One of the greatest bands ever.
This is what real music sounds like.
Just amazing what a drum set, a bass guitar, a guitar and a human voice can do
Love CCR! Great song!
CCR's I Put a Spell on You is magnificent!
I would love to see you guys branch out into soul music, Motown, you would love it. Marvin Gayes version of this song is a must hear, when you hear his version you will understand why it's called soul music. James Brown, Otis Redding, Four Tops, Temptations all of the "Girl Bands" were brilliant. I look forward to your reactions.
Okay, I hope you guys realize there is an extended version of this.
I would also like to say that I was born in 1960, and was lucky to have an older brother that not only introduced me to music at a young age, but also brought me to a concert when I was 14 (I still have the ticket stub, first of over 30 concerts, it only cost $6.50 after tax!) i also feel fortunate growing up in the Montreal area, because one of the local tv stations used the beginning of the song One of these Days (Pink Floyd) as the intro music to the 6pm news!!
CCR has probably my all time favorite drummer EVER!!!
run through the jungle and night time is right time đ€©đ€©â€â€
Awesome pick!!!â€â€â€đđđđđđ
Way to feel the music â€â€â€â€â€
How about âI put a spell on youâ or ârun through the jungleâ. Classic CCR!
Patrick, nice haircut. you guys look like twins now Love your channel (from Oklahoma City, USA)
CCRs music is timeless. đ
Love this version of this classic Motown song that CCR gave their unique rock vibe with a driving bass guitar and drum beat. Definitely a good driving song but don't drive too fast, stay safe. :-)
đžđŻđ€Ż CCR is a killer bandâŒđ„đ€
I love Marvin Gaye's rendition; but, the "funkiness" of this version is so special! You can't hear it & NOT move to it! "Bad Moon Rising" next please!? Thanks bros! â€
"Fortunate son" is also great.
We did it already :)
whoever shot and recorded this was/were (a) genius(es)......
Country Rock luv it..
Eso Hermanos! Epic! Indeed.
For the truly epic version, you should be hearing the album version. This video gipped you both!
Run through the jungle is awesome also!
Love this......nice ! đ€đâ€ïžđŒ
