Hey Liz, I've been viewing your videos and your blog for my up coming ielts exam, I'm looking for band score 8. Your tips and guides have been a godsend for helping me with organisation and structure...good job !
TopCatsBack I'm really pleased they are helpful. Make sure you look more closely at the requirements of band score 8 for both writing tasks - understanding what the examiner is looking for an essential step for band 8. Take a look at my pages which explain the band scores 5 to 8 - you can find them under the main writing task 1 and 2 category headings on the navigation bar. Writing is a skill which students commonly struggle in.

Hello Liz, watching your videos has been a real pleasure, it has helped me getting IELTS band of 7.5 though I have requirement of 8 in Listening and I lost marks in Section 3. Especially in sentence completion, need your guidance to for same. Have checked all videos while couldn't see any content on Section 3.

Firstly i would like to say thank you.
i didn't take any coaching classes because i had to give my test in under 15 days, i just watch your videos and practice on some manhatan books and i scored 6.5 over all.
Listening : 8
Reading : 7
Writing : 6
Speaking : 5.5

Hi, always start your IELTS essay by paraphrasing the statement given by IELTS. This will be your background statement. It means you write the statement again in your own words.
After your background statement, is your thesis statement. That must contain your answer and main points.
There are only two statements in your essay introduction. Please watch my video about how to write an introduction for an opinion essay. Also here is another lesson which shows a model introduction: ieltsliz.com/ielts-essay-introduction-content-model/

+IELTS Liz Thanks . your site is amazing . Btw I downloaded IELTS's book on a pdf form . Im counting on the book and mostly on you're site to get me through . I hope I don't choke in the exam room . I mean I study English Literature and I have always been that guy who reads alot and yet here we are days before the exam and im scared I don't know is it because im not fully prepared or because I heard a lot of bad experiences about the exam . I took the exam which tells you how good you are , the one with 25 multiple choice and I scored 90% . What do you think ?
