I dont think it boils down to lack of console sales, I thinks its literally just the terrible spot the economy is in. Every company has been increasing their prices.
It's genuinely up to preference cos there's a lot and I mean a lot of games to possibly play but end of the day it's going up and it will go higher and higher

So 26.00 CAD 22.99+ tax, that's over 312.00 a year to have access to shitty games you could just buy when they're on sale or at a yard sale. 🤦
Think I'll just switch to Gamepass Core, I didn't really mind spending 16.99 a month to have Online access and to try out cheaper games on Gamepass to see if they're worth buying. However at that 22.99 price just to basically rent game titles you might not even like when you can just buy a couple games a year, and just own the games you do enjoy and use core for the online access. Makes these seem retarded. Paying to play games you could just buy to own and never require Gamepass for offline games.
If you pay for Ultimate and only play two games that would cost you 80.00 CAD each, its cheaper to buy the two games to own and sell them later when you get other games you enjoy. These digital games and game subscriptions are just killing the gaming community's ambition to invest in new game titles. I remember taking my old Xbox 360 games to GameStop and trading them in to get a new release game giving back a little cash for games I already beat, didn't like or care to own anymore. You cannot do that with Digital Games or games you only have access to with a subscription.
Gaming is supposed to be a hobby, spending 300.00 CAD a year just to play games and not actually own anything is fucking retarded, and a waste of money. Better to own shit you can re-sell later and use your cashback to invest in something else when you sell your collection. I know damn well you're not going to be 70-90 years old still playing the same outdated games that cost you 300.00 CAD a year just to rent access. Would be okay if Gamepass Ultimate also included the ability to trade in your older Digital games for newer digital games.
Unlocking the Digital Trade market for gamers the same way they trade games in at pawnshops or video game stores such as gamestop. But to spend 300.00 a year and not actually own any actual products, isn't an investment, it's a money sink. If you spent 300.00 a year buying different games you do enjoy on disc, and sold your collection when you no longer have the time to game or have a family, or pass away and leave them to your kids, you'll get back some of your investment, and depending how the games age and/after they're an antique, could even make a profit. That makes owning something enjoyable with little risk. Buying access to own nothing is just damn well retarded. 🤦
If you'll buy nothing for 300.00 a year I got some air in a bag I can sell you for 20.00 CAD a month. The mindset that says it's only 20.00 a month, was never taught how to save money or learned the value of a dollar. 22.99+15% x 12 months, multiplied by 10-15 years of a game generation, is 4,680.00 you just pissed down the sink and got nothing to show for it when they shut down the online access for older consoles like they're doing to Xbox 360 on the 29th. This is why y'all don't own shit, you give your money away and have nothing to show for it. 🙄
9.99 CAD for just the Online Access portion isn't a big deal, it's 120.00 a year, that's affordable, no different than paying for a TV subscription, or paying for Internet. I pay $50.00 a month for unlimited High Speed Internet, it's locked in for life at that price, that makes 60.00 a year to have internet in my home and have access to online gaming for now. The months I don't feel like gaming online I don't pay for the online access. Saves me money unless I'm actually using it. You'll get about 120.00 a year worth of entertainment and still have the ability to invest in actual products that have a value you can re-sell later. This shit is why I'd rather buy actual assets, not digital air-bags. Just sayin' but y'all do you... The Corporation Hogs love the stupidity level of gamers. 🤷
It's not really fair as you need a game pass to just even play a game with your friends and with them putting the charges up on it AGAIN I think it's time to reconsider weather or not I want it
The math don’t make any sense here what you just said about if you only play call of duty it’s not worth it. You gotta put in the consideration the cost of call of duty and then the cost for Game Pass basic it’s gonna be the same price as 20 bucks a month in the end Microsoft’s not stupid when it comes to numbers and math.
