Here is another episode in my Do's and Don'ts series! What would you like to see the next episode on?
Clothes in G&C or colored pencil :))
Kirsty Partridge Art .please make ,2,3 portrait of imran khan.
Thanks so much for making these videos!
With pencils I find it hard to get large areas of either uniform or smoothly changing colour, e.g., day/night sky, close-ups.
Also with faces how you decide where to put shadows/highlights.
And +1 on clothes suggestion.
Sorry for spamming with ideas ...
Kirsty Partridge Art,hello!
I was wondering about your colour pencil brands.
What colour pencils do you like for portraits and animals, and which solvent do you use ? I'd like to know about your paper.
Maybe the face and body of a girl or just a 3d heart
The picture in the thumbnail with the "don's" still looked good to me haha
Yea
+100
That's kinda why I think these comparisons are so helpful, though. The "don't" side doesn't do everything wrong. They clearly understand that a drawing needs light and shadow and that different colors need to be built up over time to get a good effect, but they haven't quite figured out yet how much the direction/thickness of every stroke matters and how to layer the colors correctly. It's a realistic starting point for a lot of hobby artists who get the idea but might still be a little too heavy handed to get really good results.
seeing you sketch that perfect circle is the thing that freaks me out
;w;
My drawings are not as bad as the don't side but are not even half as good as the do side. But whenever I practice I have high expectations, resulting in me getting upset and throwing it away before I even start. I love this video, but it still makes me sad because I know I'll fail if I try.
I understand but if you don’t practice things your bad at you definitely won’t improve at them. Everyone creates drawings they don’t like and it is just part of the process. Overtime your drawings will get better and better and you will be proud of yourself for persevering. Fear is one of the biggest things that prevent people from reaching their full potential. Don’t let fear stop you from reaching your full potential. In will take time but you will see progress 😊💕
Im the same way. I get anxiety abiut messing up something I really liie and and up abandoning it
I used to have the same problem, I would set the bar WAY too high for what I was capable of realistically doing. This made me super reluctant to start anything and I would usually get pretty frustrated with it and take long breaks from it. I eventually got over this by gradually lowering my expectations until I was drawing at my skill level successfully. After I had done that I started learning and practicing way more, which was how I improved. I'm still not at the quality of the "do" side yet, but I'm getting there
please do a portrait drawing with polychromos pencils🙏
I cannot thank you enough for the time and knowledge you share with us! I have watched so many of your WONDERFUL tutorials and have learned so very much! My coloring has improved tremendously because of your instructions. Thank you so so very much! ((Hugs))
It is my pleasure! I am so happy you are finding my videos helpful, I hope you keep seeing improvement 😊
Could you do a do's and don'ts video on noses?
Gorgeous! The "Do" side is beautiful..looks so soft and silky.
Thank you very much 😊
Your videos are really helpful. I find it really easy to identify where my mistakes are when I draw it myself first, and then draw both of your wrong and right examples.
Great video Kirsty, some really helpful tips 😊
So glad I came across this, brilliant advice thank you :) your artwork is unbelievable!!
Great tutorial once again Kirsty 👍😍

Nice video :)
personally, depending on style of art I can make left work in way as it has some nice rough sketchy aesthetic to it in comparison
Do i have to pay on patreon to watch your videos👍🏼😊 very great tutorial btw ill test myself tomorrow with this method
The colored pencils you are using are sooo smooth! The ones I use are much harder. Could this be the reason why my drawings don't look realistic?
Yes it's More than likely true
But it also depends on the brand of the pencil the more expensive the pencil brands are the better art they usually make at least over here in the UK.
Example derwent is a great pencil brand I've used and its hard to go back to crayola or other pencil brands when you've used such luxury vibrant colourful and easy to use pencils perfect for blending and don't brake as easy they are long lasting. only problem is the price being a artist is never cheap and sometimes we have to budget
Debating on buying prisma colour pencils they sound great tried Faber-Castell not my cup of tea
Sou seu fã VC é linda e muito talentosa😍😍❤❤👍✌
What kind of pencil do you use at 10:54? I have never seen the white crayon cover black. Thank you.
Thank you so much for this, its a great help.
Would it be possible to ask you roughly how long it took you to do the example size you done here? ❤
This is a great tutorial. Thank you. Is it possible to slow down the video at times so that we can have a look at exactly what sort of pencil movements you’re doing? Also speaking slower would help. Thanks again !
Your the best at art could you please tell me in what store you buy the best colored pencils you have.
FIRST!!!!!!!!! OMG FIRST TIME
You and your drawings are beautiful❤
Thank you very much 💕
How did your eraser pick up SO much colour? I use prismacolour pencil crayons and they are erasable, but not to that extent.. maybe I need to use the eraser you had..?
What pencil extender do you use?
This was excellent. I am working on a children's book series involving animals but I am new to doing fur and I want it to be realistic. I may actually consider doing your patreon channel so I can get the step by step info. Are you available for questions and help to your pattern members?
what did you use on 9:48 its like you're using eraser...??
From just looking at the thumbnail, I though it was going to me guy's hair 😂😂😂
Good job you teach very well.
Could you do another video with a whole portrait of a person with colored pencils
I'm in process to draw a realistic drawing with color pencils, but i'm struggeling with which colors i have to use - how do i know, which colors i have to use, to match the skintone from the picture?
could u share shading a face with ur pencil shading..
how do u make fox-like fur like no curves like those really short fur animals like I said the fox and how do u make fur when your just doing freestyle with no picture/reference photo also thank you for this I am trying to draw more realistic now and do more color to it and add actual fur cause usually it is just the shape/animal it was the type where there was no need for fur but I am trying to learn it so again thanks for this
tbh I've been watching fur tutorials for the past 3 days and honestly still haven't learned anything about Kirsty's or Leontine's techniques with fur.
SAMEEE I NEED HELP ITS BEEN DAYS
800th viewer and 100th like😄😄😄😄
This realistic hair can draw with Apsara pencil colour
Tribbles?
SO SO SO SO SO SO
Early!
All was helpful except, you should lightly erase when creating highlights.
She literally erased
🤓
please do slow I cannot understand where you start and where you complete
Teach me your skills human
Hi it’s actually not fur it’s the hair what you are drawing
The Video is so Fast. 😏😏😏
