I'm not sure why I'm watching this since I'm just 15 not 50- but I'm still glad I did art has given me a goal in life. and art gives me that excitement you talked about- when I create something I really am proud of, it's kinda self validating

Great video! I am older and have only been doing wc for a few years and learning almost all on CZcams! It’s going well! I have some pretty nice wc pencils but haven’t used them yet! Wondering if there is any company that you know of that has both pencils and paints in the same colors? The way you show how to get the paint from the pencil tip looks about the same as having additional paint but still might be good for colors that are used a lot. Somehow the pencils look more difficult to me but I know that I should just try! Thank you! 💕

Why does my watercolour paintings end up feeling rough on the surface? Am I using the wrong paper?

It looks like cheap little paint boxes you add water to , imo . I might try oils or mixing tubes of paint and canvas

I wouldn’t say that HB isn’t necessary as a graphite artist but one needs to understand the differences. I like the convenience when doing skin variations and for HB charcoal, it is a must for me in super detailed work. I can keep it to 3 pencils but HB is only the beginning and if I am negative drawing then I have to. I use Lumigraph and Faber Castell glare less graphite. 😊❤

It pissed me off to not find in a huge pencil box the color I need. The color I can't get otherwise. Like THE red. I have like 10 colors and all of them are not red. They slip into brownish or purple so I can't get red from them. No mixing would. So yeah, I wish I had a dozen colors but only the essential ones. And somehow I'm sure these colors would be the most expensive and rare. I remember the painters in the past struggled to find the right colors. Surely they had a lot but not the right ones. The ones that shine, that are pure. And all I get is 5 reds are are not red. And 8 blues that are not blue. And not a single cyan. Only a shade of it. And that's a good box. Not gonna name them, I like the company after all. But man is that a disappointment. Of course I'd love to mix and get the right tones from basic colors. I gotta admit, that's one more thing the digital media get better. Too bad I'm not into digital much.

This made me laugh a lot! And how brave he was to make mistakes on camera! What I love about graphite or coloured pencil drawing is that how ever bad the mistakes are they are correctable, unlike water- or oil-painting. (Well oil painting is, but you have to wait until its dry and then go over again with another layer). You did a great job fixing it, especially the nose and I LOVED the white areas around the creepy house in the foreground. Not sure what the white speckles on the left were for, think the pic could have done without those. Overall, though an entertaining video and hugely helpful. Thanks so much!

I used Bristol Vellum 230 grams is this good for color pencil and markers

This is the truest thing! Get a lighter grip on the pencil at least halfway back on the barrel and roll it as you go to keep shaving the point, and use the side of the lead more. Take one hour getting used to it, if it takes that long. Then you get even, smooth, feather light coverage across a sky or water.

Haha thank you! My oldest daughter is a wonderful artist and can actually see all the variations of the colors. I see 7 colors. Sometimes they’re lighter or darker but they’re always just those 7. Not including black and white obviously. 🤷 this video made me smile
