    Foreigners recongised NZ to be a country for New Zealand regardless of race, language and religion with a focus on fostering a national identity with unqiue properties of it own various racial or communities who strives to better themselves to create a place called home. This treaty needs to be sorted out cos it break New Zealand apart. Talented people and people with means $$$$ will eventually have to pack their bags and leave, investors will never put their $$$ in a country that has so much disunity and disruptions among only a population of 5 million. There is room for everybody but the mindset of ONE NEW ZEALAND must come first, dun believe me go check on Malaysia and see the whole country is divided into Federated states and Non-federated states, West and East, West is more modernised with Central govenment and East is so backforward. There are 4 sultans (Kings) and take turns to reign for a period of time among the Non-federated states as the Head of states in Malaysia, people got to pay taxes to support these Sultans, the Bumiputras are given rights to housing, education and even positions in Govt and Corporations as Directors, there were alot of mismanagment of funds, corruption and best is during PM Najib time he borrowed lot of money from China and alot of projects undertaken by China and China paid for them, so now the country is in a terrrible state, Chinese and Indians and other minorities have are leaving in large numbers and huge brain drain. New Zealand needs to see what is happening, failure to understand history around the world would mean one is condemmed to repeat it again. New Zealand will be isolated once China get a firm hold on all the islands surrounding the pacific islands and will be cut off from Australia. The oil exploraton will be done by the Chinese including sourcing out as many natural resources, sounds familiar cos that what the Japanese did when they set a foothold in South East Asia and then in China set up the Manucharia Empire with the Puppet Empereor - Pu Yi, the last Emperor of the Qing Dynasty and together with the French and British they bullied and attack China and Shanghai was divided into British, French and Japanese zones. And to weaken them further, British sold opium to the Chinese and got them addicted, that started the Opium war and Jacinata want to legalise cannabis !!! That would mean fast bucks but at what price, cos then it would be a island full of addicts addicted to leisure drugs, think one can pick up rifle and defend New Zealand when China starts to come in, it would be effortless dealing with a large population of addicts who has build up such a strong tolerance on cannabis and a young group of people addicted to meth. New Zealand now has domestic terrorists in the form of gangs and cannot even deal with it and it wants to progress with such a policy ? How can it attract investors ? Dun ever vote for party that takes money away from you in the form of tax and endless taxation. Chose a sound govenment that speak the truth and work with them cos it top down and bottom up. You cannot chose the past but one can chose the present and future. I am really scared looking at New Zealand from Singapore and worried for my children and I cannot join my family in NZ with this current situation.

    Absolutely correct "NZers were never asked if they wanted tribalist governance". The question was deliberately and cunningly withheld by PM Ardern and her Labour Party while seeking re-election during the 2020 campaign. Indeed, the question was craftily kept secret from their coalition partner NZ First. It was withheld, despite the fact the Labour party had procured He Puapua which is evidentially a detailed plan for exactly that - "tribalist governance".

      @@richardlogan1615 We are have our differences but we chose to work together after all we are decided to stay in Singapore, we dun want to be 2nd class citizen so when have do much disputes, made everybody equal and then provide holistic support to all who needs it, yes, some of the groups will need alot for support due to drug and poverty but it will never work, look at our neighouring country - Malaysia, with all the good resources, only the Bumiputras were given special concessions for everything including corporations in which some of the board directors have to be Bumiputras and given have a quota for it, that resulted in brain drain among the Chinese and Indians, mismananged of companies and funds, corrupution, crime rate and divide the Malaysia into West and East in which East Malaysia is very very backward. The Sultans (not just one but a few from the Non-Federated states) have to be maintained and people have to pay taxes to support it. They borrowed alot of money from China so now Malaysia is in a way belong to China, along with Sri Lanka, Pakistan, now China is stretching her hands on Pupua New Guinea and Solomon Islands and Jacinta is dreaming and she and her Labour party are very dangerous people. China do not need to attack New Zealand, all she needs to do is to get concession and start exploring oil and whatever resources around New Zealand and neighbouring islands and eventually they will own it and they will then own the waters around that region, in this way, New Zealand will be cut off from Australia and she will be isolated. People need to wake up for the China - The Dragon is spewing fire and New Zealand together with all the Islanders around that area will perish, this is the truth.

    It really strange to an outsider like me when this present PM and Labour party keep saying bring New Zealand to new heights and back on the First World map but this present goverment and many levels of people cannot even decide to be ONE UNITED NEW ZEALAND. Can't control the crime rate and gangs, dead children in suit cases and still want to stick to a such an old treaty that has outlived it purpose, there is saying one cannot chose a family, well that wrong, New Zealanders can chose to be united as a family, there will be no equity without equality cos only when a society progress as as whole, will hoslistic aids and programmes be provided in an efficient manner. New Zealand is ridden with debt that would take at least 60 years to sort out but that is hard work and when people are united. This debt is created because a wrong leader and a wrong party is chosen and now everybody has to pay for it and if one does not want to pay for it then that would means leaving NZ for good. At this rate, the gangs will rule New Zealand and it will be an island of addicted people who needs cannabis and meth. No wonder, Euthanesia is legallised in New Zeland, the old and the frail will chose to end their life this way cos they are too fragile to move to a new country and also no country will take them due to old age. Unless they have plenty of $$$$.

    I applaud 98 percent of what she says, with the proviso that "secularism" - which she somewhat promotes - is also an ideology. And if she is to be commended for what she has done to warn us of a Maori ethno-nationalist state - (which I heartily do), who will also take up the challenge of those who have been responsible for a secularist state, with the understanding that secularism does not equate with neutrality? She applauds diversity and essentially outlines the tension between competing worldviews that is a constant struggle between individuals, collectives of individuals (tribes in the most generic sense) and the state which must mediate between competing groups. But to defer to secularism is after all just another "tribe".
    In democratic theory the most fundamental pillar is in my view characterized by "“upward control (sovereignty residing at the lowest levels of authority)." Currently the emphasis on secularism denies others a voice at that table.

    • @silentcharm1
      @silentcharm1 Před rokem +1

      @Mac Cleba Much of politics is about perception. And that's why I hold the media very much to account for engineering attitudes, for steering culture, and indeed for "rigging" elections - in the sense that the spin they can manufacture in some cases wins or loses elections. The defence of our Judeo Christian heritage, or the lack of it, is in some large part the responsibility not only of the churches to adequately defend their worldview, (which admittedly is appalling) but also as I hinted - the media are in a large part responsible for not giving the oxygen necessary for that defence and also largely responsible for creating a great degree of prejudice against a worldview that has been of huge benefit, not to our country alone, but Western civilization in general. If one has a mind to listen, and the wherewithal to find it, this heritage can indeed defend itself on an intellectual basis to the point that I am confident would astound the average person on the street. But they blithely follow the script, just as they are largely doing with this latest aberration of democracy- ethno-nationalism.
      Having thought a little more about it, Prof. Rata has succeeded in rousing opposition to Treatyism, not only on valid rational grounds, but also by couching this Treatyism in spiritual and religious terms - is capitalizing on the latent religious prejudices of the secular nation we have become.
      That is my only real objection to her address.

      This askhole of a woman doesn’t realise Aotearoa New Zealand has NEVER been democratic.
      Aotearoa New Zealand’s historicity is marked by its singular modality of colonised government built on the ashes and detritus of genocidal land theft and the stolen māori economy. It established its infrastructure as a Plutocratic Capitalist state that aligned itself with the global markets and in the 1980’s sold its own assets to the highest bidder in a gluttonous coke headed snatch for the piece of the Neo Liberal pie - all done while sacrificing māori Treaty of Waitangi Article 3 rights to equality, equity and equinimity.
      Act can go Far cough.
      Rata (if she is even māori which I doubt she is) is exactly the academic who omits Paulo Freire’s point when he said, ““The oppressed, instead of striving for liberation, tend themselves to become oppressors.” That’s if she’s māori.
      If she’s just another Pākehā coming in through the back door to speak on behalf of māoridom … then she’s the worst of all the racist coat tail riders at the ass end of the one horse Political party. She can Far cough too.
      As a māori I see and hear nothing more than the hegemony of this woman’s own self ignorance.

    Quite a history about the Maori - put the Inca's or the Aztecs to shame in degeneration. Outcast during the 13th century as weaker primitive Neolithic people by the invading Hawaiians & Tongans (Maori were from the original wave of primitive Asian/Melanesians pushed right out across the Eastern Pacific by successive stronger more advanced races coming from the west). They were outcast on rafts and some floated up in NZ stranded for 500 years. The weaker were pushed down to the South Island or Chathams etc. So the South Island Maori (had their own language) were the weakest of the weak. They were captured and eaten as 'Slave flesh' by the northern Maori doing raids. (Well they all ate each other - 80% of Maori pre European were dark skinned easily fattened slaves farmed and eaten by a lighter skinned 'Ariki' thin wiry elite royal caste). So it was with some righteousness as well as British cunning that they armed the southern Maori who then with muskets launched a genocidal war on the north.. That plus measles & flu halved the Maori population and removed most of the elite. The British then liberated the slaves and outlawed cannibalism. The northern Maori fought with the British against the south bad west Maori 'rebels'. The Maori sued for peace and a treaty was signed that removed all sovereignty and made them subjects to the English crown where the English would protect them from each other. Land could only be sold to or via the Crown. Maori could live on their reservations with native custom but none did. The treaty of Waitangi is strikingly clear in that the Maori cede sovereignty completely and become citizens of Great Britain - all 3 clauses lock that in. Nothing in today's 'Maori' culture is authentic. The music - all European (Maoris did not have tonal music, the songs are missionary tunes or introduced - Poi dance is from Islands and Stick dance from old Malaya. The carvings and art - all European - Arabesques that was the fashion at the time. Original Maori had limited dash carving and no painting of objects. No written language - all the syntax & grammar plus vowel inflection is European. No technology - some lagoon canoes and wood or stone Neolithic tools. No food sources - like pigs or crops - they left that all behind, all they had was a weak inbred fox (now extinct), some rats and a weak dismal pacific yam. They ate out all the bird-life, didn't know how to farm the sea as were island people and so they turned to societal cannibalism. Today - no full blood or half blood left. No genuine tradition and almost all are offspring of Maori slave females sold to white settlers for muskets or food. -So more fake than the 'Sioux' or 'Cherokee' or 'Crow' who had at least retained some genuineness about who they were and their history. -Everything you 'saw or experienced' is Fake. A totally convected disneyfied tokenistic set of inventions fueled by a grievance culture of mixed-race imposters fetishing a false past bad history because it pays benefits.

    51 Former British Protectorates have completed a process of succession from the British Settler Government. This unification process returns the land rights as an obligation of the historic agreements between colonial explorers of the British Empire and the original inhabitants discovered by the British Representative. NZ has two agreements of Maori Rights and British Settler Government obligations that in 2015 were acknowledged by the Human Rights Commission as unambiguous statements of Maori autonomy of the family estate. Enthno Tribal Label is the most racist term created by any scholar. Decomocracy is the playground of For-Profit Corporation Governments dictating civil, human rights and treaty rights in New Zealand for it's political success and empowerment. Selling nation assets and forcing the costs of it's crimes and obligations on taxpayers and the communities at large. Any more terms as such must be seriously viewed as treason.

      you will find by doing more intensive research, most of which has been hidden by governments from 1970, that maori are not first people of NZ nor indigenous. there is proof that humans had been living in NZ for over 7000 years, most likely from Europe and Asia. DNA of maori also include Asian profiles. with this vast mix of races dating back eons, we are to re think who were the first peoples of NZ. As the world has changed, moving forward accepting that all people who are currently NZ'ers should live as one, in a land that is not divided by race or cultures is the only way forward. there is no future in the past. czcams.com/video/PBFpGayPATs/video.html
