    Other than lots of power...I like the screen shield over the radiator. If it starts getting a little hot you just pull it out, clean it off,slap it back on and go.

      Thanks for the input Carla! Grasshopper really does do a lot of "little" things right when they build their mowers! It is the combination of all of those "little" things that make it a fantastic machine!

    About how much does that model run, with the 60" or 61"(whateverGrasshopper runs) and the 25 hp diesel?

    • @MerzFarmEquip
      @MerzFarmEquip  Před 7 lety

      TermiteBenny depending on options around $13,500. 725D with 61" deck. Options on this unit are the PowerFold deck, which is highly recommended by us to lift the deck with one finger! Also shown in this video with wide stance dual tailwheels.

      Merz Farm Equipment That's not bad at all. I have a Gravely 72" front mount mower now and really like the ability to cut under trees. It's a 1992 model so it's getting tired. I will definitely look you up when I'm ready to replace it. Thanks for the reply

    That mower looks good,that electro-screw style deck adjustment,you think it will hold up to commercial lawn care cowboys adjusting it every day?And those plastic shims?You need tough old school mechanical deck adjustment and that mower with that Kubota diesel would be a real good machine.Give me grease fittings,common bearings,kubota diesel and simple belt change and you get a life time mower.I'll take that shit all day.

    • @MerzFarmEquip
      @MerzFarmEquip  Před 6 lety

      The linear actuator holds up very well as long as the owner uses the shims to take the pressure off the actuator. The shims are plastic, but Grasshopper offers metal shims that adjust the deck 1/4 inch with each shim. It is really an easy deck adjustment. Many people prefer it to a manual adjustment. The other option you have for jumping curbs and loading on a trailer or crossing sidewalks or similar activities is the Hyd Deck Lift option, czcams.com/video/CfeUlrB5gZsY/video.htmlou are right, giving this mower simple maintenance will give you a quality lawn mower for a long, long time!

      I have a 725D with 210 hours on it and I am taking it in to have a 3rd electric actuator installed...in my case, the actuators don't hold up. The dealer and Grasshopper agree this is not due to operator mistreatment or error. So, I leave it to you to ponder what could be the issue.

    How much?

      @MerzFarmEquip  Před 5 lety

      Grasshopper 725D with a 3461 Powerfold Deck is going to run in the $14,000-$15,000 range depending on rebates and programs available. Also depending on the options like this mower shown has the Grammer Seat, wide stance tail wheels, and more. The models are going to change as well, this video is from March 2017, prices have changed from that point to November 2018. We are now pricing and selling the 2019 models. Looks don't get the job done. The reviews don't lie.
      Current Grasshopper owners love the product.
      Current Grasshopper dealers, say that they're the most reliable of all the brands they sell.
      I like the soft, warm, retro colors of the machine.

  • @kmcwhq

    The Deck is NOT Hydraulic
    Don't you know what you're selling??

    • @MerzFarmEquip
      @MerzFarmEquip  Před 7 lety +3

      kmcwhq Grasshopper calls this option a Hydraulic Deck Lift. This is the option of adding a button in the right hand steering lever to raise the deck straight up a few inches. It is located where most operators naturally place their right hand thumb. If used while the deck is engaged it will momentarily stop the blades, raise the deck straight up (not flip) to help maneuver over debris, driveways, curbs, landscaping, etc. Once the button is released the deck drops back down to the set mowing height and the blades are re-engaged.
      We sell this feature to many municipalities, including parks who can stop the blades while driving over dirt from a baseball field or wood chips from a playground.
      Taken directly from Grasshoppers website, "Optional hydraulic deck lift (standard on 900 Series) raises the deck off of the ground at the touch of a switch to clear curbs and trailer ramps." - See more at: www.grasshoppermower.com/decks/frontmount/#sthash.94Ccr4NA.dpuf

      @kmcwhq Před 7 lety

      That deck lift is a Electric Mechanical Actuator.
      It uses a screw and an electric motor.
      Maybe Grasshopper needs to brush up on the type of components they use!

    • @MerzFarmEquip
      @MerzFarmEquip  Před 7 lety +1

      kmcwhq you are correct, we use an electric actuator to "flip" the deck, this is called the Powerfold. However the term Hydraulic Deck Lift is only used at the 2:18 mark of this video. Hydraulic Deck Lift is separate from the Powerfold. These are two separate features of these machines. Hydraulic Deck Lift uses the hydro pump to "Lift" the deck.
      You are correct that the Powerfold is not hydraulic. That is an electric actuator.

    • @kmcwhq
      @kmcwhq Před 7 lety

      From what I remember, there is only ONE Electric Actuator that both positions the deck for mower height, and flips it up for service.

    • @MerzFarmEquip
      @MerzFarmEquip  Před 7 lety +1

      kmcwhq Correct. What we refer to in this video is an OPTIONAL Lift, it has nothing to do with the flipping of the deck, that is referred to as Powerfold in which is a very common feature. The Hydraulic Lift is not a common feature for most units. Very few units are ordered with this feature.
      You are absolutely correct on what your presenting. But what we referred to is a completely separate feature. Grasshopper knows what they are talking about, Merz Farm knows the products we sell and you are correct as well! What I believe your not understanding is that what we refer to as Hydraulic Deck Lift is NOT Powerfold and that is what you are familiar with.

      Mike West the decks are heavy duty and the aluminum ring you see is a reinforcement ring for extra reinforcement. They also use the cups around the spindles to make sure all long weeds or twine or other rope like items don't wrap around the spindles.
      We see decks that are 20 years old with thousands of hours on them. Of course belts and bearings have been replaced over time but the decks withstand the time and use.

      We sell a number of Grasshoppers to City Parks and other municipalities. They run them for 40 hours a week during July 100 degree days. They rarely have any issues.
      Grasshopper has some promotional videos showing how they look at quality. Quality is their #1 core value.
