Precision harmonies were a staple in the Beatles catalog and this song is harmony at its very, very best. This Boy is their second best.

@@kevanbodsworth9868 Very true that both bands had signature harmonies. And there was little doubt that there was some degree of competition amid mutual admiration.
It doesn't really end. It's hard to listen to any part of this album on its own. There are some singles but its a cohesive masterpiece and a musical journey. So glad you loved it.

"Because" was written when Yoko was playing Beethoven's "Moonlight Sonata." John asked her if she could play it backwards. She did and he wrote "Because" around it.

I was 14 yrs., old when I first heard " Because " ...I couldn't believe it was them! They sounded like a whole new band ..they matured vocally to a crystal level...I experienced Beatlemania when I was 9 in that February of 1964 when they came to the Ed Sullivan show...You had to be there at this time to really take all in organically while it was happening, It was truly breathe taking to see their beautiful charm and magnetic draw. And to us young, young children they looked like four funny adorable dolls !! Who were full of simple energetic music which sounded very different from the rest of the bands of those days. Beatles were hip! And the new energetic fuse to millions of fans. And remember the Beatles have sold more records then any band in history of music.

It wouldn't surprise me the least if The Beatles themselves asked, "Why must this song end?" And answered their question by saying it doesn't -- and then making it so with the medley. The medley officially begins with "You Never Give Me Your Money", but for me it always began with "Because". Perhaps because of the sonic similarities with "Sun King", but also because back in the days when albums ruled it was just so much easier to let the whole second side play and "Here Comes The Sun" was an obvious stand alone song compared with the others on that side of the record.
This was the same 9-voice harmony that George Martin used for John's excellent YES IT IS.
What it is so amazing about this song is that it seems that there are a lot of voices in the song, but it is really just George, John and Paul, with no backing vocals, just the 3 voices.

When you think about it, there is nothing that would change about this song to make it better, even half a century later. None of the electronics, singing techniques, new instruments... If they wrote the song today, it would be just like this. That's what makes a classic.

Yeah it is amazing that I mean the Beatles had written so many beautiful songs but it's funny that this one is actually you know stands out as being one of their more beautiful songs you know it's amazing because they recorded this album after Let It Be so even though they were released like Abbey Road I think was released before and then let it be came out later Abbey Road was there last album they had gotten together because they were fighting these companies that were wanting to steal the rights to their music and they won which was awesome and then they decided hey we're all here why don't we put our heads together and try to make another album and they had some songs that weren't finished but they figured out a way to put them all together and that's another thing is this song was the song before the medley and I know you've already done the medley so this song Segways into You Never Give Me Your Money which is so perfect you know how it goes from that to the other but what I find so amazing about this is all the years the Beatles had been together this very last album all the experiments all the different instruments all the unique sounds that they had come up with and then everything they had done in the studio this is the first album that had synthesizers I think George Harrison was really interested in those and they got the Moog synthesizer and in fact on the song she's so heavy I want you at the very end you hear that static noise well that's actually a synthesizer but yeah that's so amazing that just before they broke up they actually got to have some synthesizer stuff put into their music so I think that's really great it's amazing how they have those yearning minor chords and then they go into the major chords with their harmonies it's just absolutely stunning okay gang girl we will check you you know when

Side 2 of Abbey Road is mainly medleys. You should listen to the whole side at once.

It is a beautiful song.
The story is that the Beach Boys claimed they could harmonize better than the Beatles. This was the song that the Beatles responded with. I would say that the Beatles ended that claim. The Beach Boys knew it too and never again claimed they were better than the Beatles in ANYTHING.
I think it would've been a tie.
