I disagree that Western countries have a responsibility to spend billions of taxpayer dollars, or risk or their citizens lives in Ukraine. That region of the world has been in conflict for over 1000 years. The issue of Palestine is largely a vehicle for the expansion of their religion like other religious terror network. It is premised on the supremacy of their religion and the goal for international domination if not a complete global one in the name of their god. Two major factors get in their way namely that of the West and its affiliation with Christianity although now secular these people see the West as Christendom in essence and secondly of the Jews in the form of the Jewish state called Israel. These two are humiliating factors in the championing of their religion and god largely in the way of their religious and political global goals. Ideologies based largely on falsehoods can be defeated and marginlised by exposing their lies and if they claim supremacy they need to be proven wrong. WWII is proof of that where the ideology of the Germans and Japan similarly that of supremacy were put to rest with military conquest costing millions of Germans and Japanese their lives proving beyond any doubt they were not superior. Their leaders who espoused false superiority were utterly humiliated and their attempt at militarism were crushed devastatingly sending a big message to their lies. Without lies their religion dies.
Here is the crucial part though. Once the ideology is debunked by proving it false the neutralising of the vengeful hatred of being humiliated and suffering a large casualty of deaths is in the rebuilding process which was done to Germany and Japan after WWII. This is absolutely key! However you cannot do this without destroying the enemy who wants to kill you and wipe you out because of let's face it religious reasons. When their side's ideological goal is wanting to wipe you out, as per the Hamas charter and their holy book, and you want to survive then there is very little room for compromise or any middle ground. And that means destroying their ideology by proving it false and lies by doing them militarily and comprehensively and then in good faith rebuilding their people after their military infrastructures have been destroyed and deradicalistaion of their people begins by creating a prosperous peace with a new mindset on all sides. To those who say you cannot kill an idea I say yes you can at the very least weaken it substantially by proving it wrong and foolish decisively.
History is full of falsehoods being exposed and then becomes fringe. The Germans no longer believe they are the master race and the Japanese no longer believes their emperor is God and larghely to what the Allies did militarily during WWII after both the Germany and Jaoan launched unprovoked brutal attacks. The trick is to destroy their ideology and part of it is by not rewarding it after they did brutal atrocities that started the whole conflict.

And you mentioned the West… Middle Eastern and Africans, basically everyone who isn’t western, aren’t that well-fond of the West because you keep bombing and killing them, let alone what happened in Iraq. But according to you, that would be justified. The entire Western world is based on genocides and ongoing imperialism in the Middle East and Africa. But “you’re the good guys, let’s blame those who we have been bombing for decades.” And comparing the death tolls committed by any religion (including atheism), Christianity and Atheism rank the top 2. It’s just so ridiculously ironic how all those claims made can be implied to those you’re defending. You’re the ones invading, the ones bombing, the ones destroying, but you‘re the good guys and they are the bad guys. What do you want to do? Build concentration camps? Make the religion forbidden?
