- We bought these amazing Panini in Syracuse at Caseificio Borderi.
Some stuff you cannot really identify: Dried Tomatoes, Salad, roasted sesame, honey, Lime-Juice, Lime-Skin and tons of Ricotta and various cheeses.
I had it 3 years ago on holiday.. Me and my family still can't stop talking about it! The best sandwich experience ever!!!!
It is not only the quantity of toppings but the quality of each ingredient that blows your mind.
I bet that thing is just packed with flavor 🤤
He put passion also making a Sandwich. He loves his job whatever it is...and he treats the food with respect.

I read some comments and realize how passionate Italians are. I've been to Italy, from Milan to Capri and everywhere in between. The passion comes from being true to who they are, what they eat and how they love. Nothing is fake. I would gladly give up my citizenship in the US to belong with like mind people who love, live and eat passionately and true to who they are. Nah. We, Americans used to be much more real. It's only in the last 30 years of PC brainwashing that we've become fake. But the days of PC are coming to a close. Love Italians tho but I'd never want to live there. Food they do well, government and wealth generation not so much.
VIPOWE . At least they're honest. I'm Originally Italian and I know how self critical Italians are. They're almost unique in that regard. There's good and bad, but they at least allow themselves to be human. I guess that's it. They don't bs around. Too many foreign powers have interfered with Italy , a land too diverse in its turbulent history with a myriad of cultures which has an effect on a country that's been a nation for only 150 odd years,and still evolving.
Anyway that has nought to do with food. Your words aren't bad but a bit too cut and dried, Italy is a complex quantity, but I guess that's part of its charm. There's all of human history locked in that long diverse boot. Cheers.

I'm half Italian and I've been to all of the major cities in Italy and in between. Italy as a rule has been a weak country with amoral citizenry. the roman catholic church really fracked that country up. what you describe as passion is correct, tho.

This small store is located in the popular market of Ortygia and is a must choice for visitors to Syracuse. The owner of Andreas is half Italian, half Greek and is a real artist of gastronomy since he ritually marries the authentic Sicilian first flavors creating sandwiches and salads of huge dimensions and excellent quality at very low prices. In fact, it usually "fits" in them a whole head of buffalo mozzarella and wonderful cold cuts and vegetables, everything smells of the Mediterranean. Be sure to go relatively early (7.00-14.00 opening hours) as the great reputation of this store causes long queues.

When the guy put the last roll of cheeses and deli. I was like wooowww this sandwich must cost around $20 easily. Fresh ingredients it's what make italian food so damn good!

Italian food is very varied, from the far south to the north, almost endless. But Sicily, that little hot Island in the far south...Man It is the maximum expression of Italian food, with specialities of meat, cheese, fish, street food and sweets... And now: "ah Scialiti"="Enjoy" ;)

Some countries are subsidized so it doesnt matter how many ingredients go into a sandwiche....most limit the ingredients to 3 or 4 because it can create waste...and raise your overhead or cost... It looks very delicious....very delicious.

I find it interesting after watching many videos about Indian street food. For those, most seem to complain about it looking unsanitary. And much of that food is cooked. This guy is basically working with the same street set up. His hands and work area are a mess. Yet it's the most beautiful thing to some. Must be the language and charm.

Ortigia is one of the best locations to visit in Italy full of Jazz, art and Ancient history dating back from Ancient Greece period.

"...if you're dirty..." is correct
that's the most stupid thing i ever read. Wherever you are, from france to spain, from US to UK, gloves are the best regarding public health. Especially if you lick your fingers like the guy in the video or use your phone like the girl next to him. Hands should be washed and gloves should be used when you touch food, either if you are a cook or a bartender. And regarding, the law, they should be disposable and changed at every order or at least each time you touch anything else than food (and beware of cross contamination).
Saying " I don't eat a sandwich if the guy has gloves" is a non sense
