If you can get out a vote then I wonder why so many people die without the right to have any say in how they lived? We have no idea the loss and difficulty people took on to start our government! I can't recall a single time in my three decades of life when people were so stoked for midterm elections. Regardless of how this cycle turns out (Blue Blue Blue!), let's not let the momentum peter out. Voting matters. Elections matter. Vote in every election in which you are able, on every initiative introduced, from the smallest local proposition to the presidential election.

Usually it is just another thing on the to do list every couple of years.
That's how Rethuglikkkans and tea party types got the traction to gain control in the first place. Their base votes in EVERY election. School board, city commission, drain commission, and EVERY SINGLE PROPOSAL. I've been telling progressives for years, but many people are too distracted, busy or just plain lazy to do the necessary work. I'm guilty too, but this last few years has inspired me to work harder and make civil responsibility my 2nd job.
Republicans create a midterm wave whenever democrats get something monumetal done (civil rights act, healthcare), whereas democrats create a midterm wave whenever there is a scandal (Watergate, Iraq, Russia). Republicans deny democrats the right to legislate. And in their outrage about the majority vote they impede democratic institutions and demonize opponents - democrats, courts, the media, minorities to the point where they don't know what they want anymore, they only know who they hate.

Ditched an umbrella when things got hard. A totally appropriate visual metaphor for how he manages every problem he's ever encountered...Run and let someone else deal with it. Here's a little sticking point to remember, Trump has not once, to this day since taking office, visited any troops anywhere CONUS or OCONUS cause he said he's too busy. The guy who wakes up at 3am, watches Fox News and tweets until 11am everyday who has spent 1/4 of his time in office at golf courses, is too busy to visit the troops.

*There are many important reasons to vote*, including, but not limited to:
-Defending democracy from authoritarianism.
-Investing in the public education system (no public money for private schools).
-Having affordable healthcare for all (many Democrats support single-payer).
-Addressing Climate Change & actually doing something about it by holding polluters accountable, divesting in fossil fuels, making/investing in clean renewable energy sources (solar, wind, wave, geothermal, small-scale hydroelectric, etc), free training/employment for oil, gas, & coal workers in the growing clean/renewable energy fields, believing in actual science, & preparing for the extreme weather conditions to come while actively working to reduce its impact.
-Protecting fresh air, clean water, fertile soil, biodiversity, & humanity from destructive industries that dump their toxic waste into our communities (usually the low-income ones)/ecosystems.
-Choosing candidates who will represent/protect everyday people (working class/poor)/ecosystem from the big money interests/destructive industries (who bought the GOP) that cause many of the illnesses the republican party want to exploit with their for-profit healthcare system. The GOP is full of industry lobbyists turned legislatures who got into politics just to deregulate destructive industries, accept their money, defend/promote/lie for them, enrich the rich much more than the general public, & silence them while selling out (undermining) our democracy/ecosystems for exploitation.
-Preventing future displacements (future migrations) caused by rising oceans & extreme weather conditions caused by Climate Change & deregulation.
-The fate of Earth itself!

Actually, the Constitution does not guarantee each person the right to vote. Remember that women and slaves were denied. However! The Fifteenth Amendment to the Constitution prohibits the federal government and each state from denying a citizen the right to vote based on that citizen's "race, color, or previous condition of servitude". As an American citizen who was raised in NYC to do my civic duty and participate in politics, I am voting and have been voting. What's different, I'm hoping, is that we're managing to get more people voting this time. I have been urging my fellow countrymen to figure out/remember who we are, what we said we stand behind (truth and justice) and vote to restore the faith. Just vote! This is not blue or red, it's the country, forget party, it's our civic duty as is jury duty or military service, and those things require far more sacrifice. Thank you, those of you from around the world, for your prayers and support. Despite what you hear, there are still many Americans I know who remember what our values are and what we said we stand for. As I read comments here, I truly appreciate you all for getting behind us.

And votes on provisional ballots are counted *even if* the voter hasn't registered to vote, or their name isn't on the electoral roll for the given precinct/polling place, or they are unable to prove their voting eligibility (citizenship).
