@@ThreeFirstNames hello, I am setting up an Xbox series X for myself which will have game pass, and the series s for my son. Will there be an issue in terms of memory if I log into his Xbox series s (300+ gb) with the games I already downloaded on my Xbox? Or is downloaded game memory not shared?
I don’t want my games showing up on his console when he signs into his gamer tag account to play.
Ok. So let’s say you set up game share so that you can share your live and game pass access. The games you own don’t have to be shared. Just make sure to not download or delete any games you don’t want him to play. He will technically be able to see any games you own but you could set parental controls on to limit certain content ratings or even lock it down to require your approval if you’d like.

Also, if he wants to play fortnite. Must I download it on my Xbox first?
Ok no they won’t automatically download to his console. You will have to go to “full library” to download games you own.
Likewise, he should only have the games he want make on his console.
So they can be completely separated games and therefore hard drive usage.
And no you will not have to download Fortnite onto yours. Just on his.

If you want to get ultimate on pc you just need to open Microsoft store and log in with your gamepass ultimate account, now open xbox console companion and the games that you have installed already you can play them with the account that you want to use
@@1XXDRED but also i pretty sure you have to log in on the xbox app with the account you want to use and on ms store you log in with the account with game pass

Paying for online should be scrapped. They'd still make money from game sales and gamepass anyway.
Would be nice but they are a business to make money. This is easy money but it is a service they have to maintain. = employees etc. $60 a year. Break th at down over how much you play. The cost per hour is very low compared to other things in life we spend money on

so you can game share on pc you need to make it so that the account with gamepass is logged in as the store account then you can log in on whatever account as the gaming account

I have Ultimate. This is how I share with my son. Set the xbox as your home device. We have a pc in another room so I sign in there on the ultimate account then my son signs in on the xbox under my wifes microsoft account (any microsoft account will do), then that account has access to all gamepass games as it is using the xbox that is set as the home device. We then play co-op games between the xbox and the pc using one gamepass ultimate account.
Yes! Very true and good idea. I got stuck in thinking the other way around with that. Can folks who have ultimate via the xbox though set their account as the home console onto the pc? It only works in the direction you did it, right?
Hey this sounds promising. I just signed up to game pass u!timate. So can I have my as MAIN PC1 with my account. And my son can log into his iPad with his MS account which is part of my my family? So essentially if his logged into his laptop or iPad his using his account to access game pass ultimate libary.... Hope that makes sense to you and the other folks?

Quick question. Say if you have a pc and an Xbox. If you have an account that you bought game pass with and it’s connected to both your pc and Xbox, can you play with both devices on games connected through game pass.

Hmm. I want to say yes. Because, you can take your account and put it on any xbox at any given time and play your games while your account is on it. So, yes I believe you can make your account the home Xbox on your brother’s account and share game pass and features with him on his xbox. If you’re trying to do this onto another PC I’m afraid I don’t know the answer as this is out of my experience. Hope that answered your questions.
They need to make it possible to share to any console at the same time while on the same home network. I have three consoles, two of us can play each other online, the third is left out. Sucks because the only alternative is to get another Gold account and pay for the game twice, with one person having their own separate account from everyone else in the house.
They should have a family subscription for a slightly higher price. Where you could add up to 4 or 5 different accounts.

@@doctorzee1809 yes, so on your FRIENDS console, log into YOUR profile and activate the subscription. Then once activated on your FRIENDS console log out of YOUR profile and onto your FRIENDS profile.
Then on YOUR console log into YOUR account and you should both have gamepass. Feel free to ask me questions, I hated figuring this out.

can someone tell me if there's a way to share ultimate with my family for them to use xcloud on mobile? everytime they log in with their respective accounts on the gamepass mobile app it says they are not able to use xcloud and asks them to pay for ultimate. however, when they're using the console they are allowed to use ultimate functions. does this mean xcloud mobile doesn't work with the family sharing thing?
The x cloud is signed in with same account I assume? I’ll have to give this a try.
@@ThreeFirstNames seems like the streaming features on ultimate as xcloud aren't part of the family sharing feature sadly, i hope they add a family plan at least in the future.

How do i share a game with another account on the same console? It tells me I need to be signed in to my account for the other account to play the game. The other player can just switch profiles to my account to play other games i dont want to share.

Maybe a bit dated now. However my daughter used to be able to play and download, on her own account without me logged in, game pass games. We now have game share setup with my Xbox and one in the bedroom. Tho the bedroom one can see and download game pass games and access game pass app. She now cannot access or play the original console Game pass games, without me being logged in first to load the game then her logged in the game itself
This means if I need to access the other Xbox console it will kick her off. Does game share stop a second account using game pass on the same console?

Yep. Any digital games you “own” they have access to it.
Hi there, thanks for the vid. I've kept both consoles at home, the older Xbox one and the new Series X. The Gamepass is set up on my account, and I switch between the lounge and my bedroom, that works fine. This issue comes up when my son is playing an Gamepass game on his account and I log into the other XBOX, it only allows me to be logged into just one XBOX at a time. So the minute I log off the xbox where my son is playing, he can no longer play his gamepass game. Is this a limitation or are my settings not set properly?
It sounds like maybe something wasn’t set up right.
Since you own the game pass, on one of the systems you’ll need to make your account the home Xbox. (It really doesn’t matter which in your case since they’re both in your house).
Once you’ve done that you can log out of your account again and your son play on his gamer tag only. You shouldn’t have to be signed in at all.
Then on the console you want to play on, whichever one, you just sign in and play under your gamer tag.
But the main thing is the console your son plays on primarily if set that one as your home Xbox.
Does that make sense?

Yes so you and a friends could share one way and then both be online on your own console and gamertags.
My wife and I have been sharing Xbox Live for years. She hasn't played much this year but I have. I currently have GamePass Ultimate. I want to get clarification on a couple things:
1. We can continue to share all of my purchased games AND the GamePass games ...correct?
2. I can play games (Starfield for instance) from the Cloud but it says she has to purchase GamePass Ultimate to play Cloud games. Why is this not the same as sharing a free or owned game?
3. If it is possible to share GamePass Ultimate, then how do we get that set up?

I actually have a problem where I'm playing on the same exact game when someone is on the same exact Game Pass ultimate and it says end a another game session to play on this one when someone else is on their own account
This is most likely because 1) gameshare wasn’t set up right or 2) even if it was the other person is still signing into your account when they don’t need it signed in.

see "sharing" doesnt help if you have 2 consoles, let me explain, the wife and i both play on each other consoles often because we have one out in living room and one in the bedroom, so if i set my home xbox one in bedroom, it doesn't really help, if my wife comes into living room and its not my home xbox, then she cant play game pass because my home isn't on the one in living room, Xbox needs to figure out another way to share, because just setting your xbox to your "home xbox" doesn't really help in the big picture.

Seems to me that you should set your home Xbox to whichever console she uses the most. (Let’s say that’s the living room.)
So when you go into the bedroom you would just sign into your account and in the living room that now has gameshare she can sign into her own account. You both can play the same game together at the same time.
The only issue would then be if you wanted to do the reverse where she now plays in the bedroom and you’re in the living room one night.

So if you’re trying to play on the same console and not at the same time you can sign into your account and then also into his. Since you’re logged in as well you’ll be able to play the games.
also i should have added. If you're not using the "home xbox" feature on another console already this will be easier. just do the same steps in the video but instead on your own console.

No his payementd will be transferred over to ultimate time, like say he has 1 month of game pass left and you game share, you know have about 2 months of ultimatel
To clarify further, to avoid both continuing to pay though either your or he can stop paying for game pass and live. Then split cost of ultimate if you’d like. Does that make sense

You can game share on PC in a way. I did it with my son. I have the subscription and download the games he wants on his gaming laptop, then he logs into his account and is able to play. I think now he just stays logged into my store for that reason. But I also have a game pass ultimate that I pay for and my 2 daughters use it on their Xbox. It’s only $25 but Xbox really needs to bring the family bundle back.
I have 3 consoles and 2 boys. I can share content with one of the other consoles but the third has to log in as me which kicks me out of my console. If I get third console xbox live can they share my games xbox ultimate, or can I only share between 2 consoles.

You can game share game pass to a pc if you login to the account that purchased game pass through the computer’s Microsoft Store app. The only problem I have is that I can’t get ea play to work on the computer. All the other game pass games work fine.

Who is trying to share the games and xbl?
Whoever is sharing needs to set their gamertag as the home Xbox on the console that is “being shared to.”
With that said if you both want to share to each other, you can. Just do the above.

Hi. Ok so you own the game pass. You’ll need to sign into your account on “his” Xbox and set it as the home Xbox. When you’ve done that go ahead and remove your gamertag to remove any confusion of what account to use. Your son will only need his gamertag on his console (unless he plays on both at times).

Trying to follow your question, but let’s try this. If you have xbox game pass and are game sharing it doesn’t negatively affect anything on your own account. The console you gameshared with will now have access to your xbox live and games. In fact, it would be wise for that persons to stop buying xbox live and you two split the cost. As for you, if you want to go to another console and play your game pass you can still do that.. just sign into your account and you’ll have access.. Just remember to remove your account when you leave so there aren’t any duplicate sign in issues. I hope that answered your questions.

No problem. So yes you can just make his account the home Xbox on your console. Then your don’t need to sign into his gamertag anymore. Anytime You turn on your console just log in with your account and you should be able to see his digital games and play one.

You do not both ha e to set home Xbox. Only the person being shared to needs to set the owner of the games and ultimate as the home Xbox.

I think it’s a glitch in Xbox unfortunately. I haven’t heard a fix for it. Have you tried a hard restart? Also go to store > subscriptions > Xbox live and give it a second to see if it refreshes to show Xbox live owned.

If so, put your account into his Xbox. Make it the home Xbox and then delete your account from his console again. This will make sure he doesn’t accidentally get into your account when you want to play.

hi, so do you have 3 xboxes in total? Unfortunately, game sharing only works with one other console. So you buy everything on console A, then set your home xbox on console B to share live and games. You would not be able to then share your live and games to Console C. In a family of 3 xboxes you would still need to have 2 accounts that have purchased game pass, or live. But atleast you are saving the $$ on one of the 3. hope that helped clarify.
With that, you and your daughter (with whom you're sharing) will both be able to be on at the same time on your own gamertags, if everything was set up properly.

I have a series X and a S I'm giving my S to one of my two son's I was going to buy a 3rd series S but do u have to have 3 game pass accounts for all 3 systems so me and my 2 sons can all 3 play halo at the same time?
You will need to pay for 2 live accounts. But one of the three can be shared to. Does that make sense? So you’ll all be able to play online together but you can only share to one other account.

Hey, we must be doing something wrong. Me A, wants to play games that my brother B bought. I have console A as my home Xbox. He has on his console B the same setup. Both profiles A&B exist on both consoles. Do i need to ALSO set profile B as HomeXbox on console A? Is that possible? One profile to have two consoles as HomeXbox?

If you want to share your brothers games to console a(your console) you need to set HIS gamertag as the home Xbox on your console (A).
Then yo share your games bought you need to put your gamertag on his console (B).

It won’t say “share Xbox live” but should show that you “own” it now. (If you’re the one being shared to)
Hi there , i just want to confirm , i can only play the games they've downloaded onto their account & cant download my own games from the pass if the person's sharing with me ?
i know my son has a ton of games i don't own, so I'd have to confirm but i believe once you are being shared game pass you can have access to the games inside it. But any games outside of game pass the main account would need to own first.
My friend has game pass ultimate and I made my account home on his Xbox and same for his account on his Xbox but when I try to play a game pass game with him it says the owner needs to sign in and if I sign it signs him out on the other side
Since he owns the gp ultimate you need to put HIS account on YOUR Xbox as the home Xbox. Then it should work for you.

Say that again you can or can’t play game pass games? And apparently another viewer found you can game share cloud games.
I don’t know why I find this so confusing, but I do. I got a Series X and want to give my old XBox One to my daughters. They do not have a Microsoft account or anything and I have Game Pass Ultimate. I’m still signed into the One as well as the Series X. If I’m understanding this, I need to designate the XBox One in their room as the home console correct? And then they can create a gamer tag and use it on that system and still have access to Game Pass and any digital games I already own without effecting whatever I have on my Series X? They’re mostly only going to play Minecraft and Roblox at any rate.

Yes it sounds like you have that right :). Just make them a free gamertag and you’ll be set.
Can other user play online after getting shared
I have a question. So me and my brother both have xbox one’s. It only allows one of us to play at a time how can i play online with him ? Or at least be able to play gta online while he plays cold war with out purchasing another xbox game pass?
Which one of you owns live? Whoever that is will put their gamertag on the opposite console and set home Xbox.
@@ThreeFirstNames i own the live. Right now he is playing modern warfare i tried playing gta and it exited his game. It said only one game at a time.
Ok. Does he have you signed in on his console as well? Make sure you are signed out of his console.

Restart your Xboxes. Maybe try a hard reset too.
Hi I'm using my sister game pass ultimate on my phone, and I only used it for cloud gaming from my phone. My question is: Can I add more account on mobile app? Cuz I want the save file to be in my account instead of my sis account. And I don't have Xbox btw.
I haven’t really dabbled into cloud gaming in the phone yet. I’d imagine that you can def create another account but not sure how you can make the phone a home Xbox with your sis account so that you can share the games.

I got the new Xbox. My child mainly played on my old account so I just created a new one on the new Xbox. I added my old account and just used it that way. In future do we both have to buy live as I did this time round.
Since you now have a new Xbox, no you shouldn’t have to buy live for both consoles if you use this gamesharing method :)

Hi, at this time it isn’t possible sorry. You could in a way but the main account wouldn’t be able to be on a the same time on the third console. (Not really the “gameshare” method in that case)

I'm game sharing my gamepass ultimate with my brother, it lets my brother download gamepass games but it won't let him play online it says he needs to purchase xbox live. Do you have a fix for this?
Ok. So you purchased game pass. Did you set your gamertag as the home Xbox on his console?
If so try a hard shutdown of his console. I’ve heard some viewers have had to just give Microsoft some time to register everything.
@@ThreeFirstNames I set my gamertag as the home xbox on my brother's xbox console. I've hard reset my brother's console twice now and it's still having the same problem. I own gamepass ultimate but it doesn't let my brother play online it says he doesn't have live.
Hmmm. Odd. Sounds like you’ve set it up properly then. Have you gone to the store > subscriptions > and the see if under Xbox live if it’s says “owned”?
Also try removing your gamertag only from his console. Keep the home Xbox setting and see if that helps?
@@ThreeFirstNames when he goes to the store it says he owns it put when he clicks on manage subscription it prompts him to buy xbox live
Hmm. You could always try removing it and re setting it I guess. But try removing your gamertag first and see if that helps. It had another viewer who told me about this.
