I don't think Calvin was too keen on the purchase of this X5 @ £7k only the deal was kind of predetermined on the phone prior. Hope he doesn't regret it. I hope the rear noise was only from loose equipment or tools and not mechanical 🤞🤞🤞

Big respect to Jerome for being so honest and sticking to what he said to the seller 👍 I do like an x5 , I have a 2014 Honda Civic 1.8 black edition and an old l322 vogue 4.4 V8 petrol at the moment ( the l322 is for the winter & then its going as soon as spring comes lol ) but I'd love to get an X5 one day .

That dude selling the car was an absolute chancer. As soon as he was on camera and said he was from Birmingham, we all knew that (a) he couldn't afford to run the car so probably didn't take care of it; (b) the car was dodge as he couldn't be bothered to clean it before bringing it to sell; and (c) probably had the cheek to ask for a lift to the Train Station after the sale. Chancer written all over him.

I bought one last year off copart cat N for £3270, fixed and did timing chain tensioners etc sold for 6.5k had 98k on clock so you’ll easily get 8.5 on the forecourt surely? We sell private at the minute but we have big plans this year😁

Quick question. Have you ever thought of offroading? Like buying a cheap SUV and going offroad or trying to turn a cheapo car into a cheapo offroad car. Could be a series because time has got to be there for your businesses and fam. So it could be a 6 mth series, 2 episodes a month.

Quite a lot of car for the money still, make sure doesn’t need a transfer box as very common failure and big cost (I bought one that needed a transfer box without knowing about it)

X5 e70 3.0d lci is just over 240bhp, make sure the timing chain has been done!!!
Only needs doing if stretched. Otherwise doesn't need changing, it's not a serviceable item like a cam belt
M57 are less prone, but do snap chains, usually without any signs or warnings.
N57 can give a rattle on cold start which can be a sign, and can go anytime from around 80k mikes onwards.
It’s not just the chains you have to worry about tho, as tensioners and guides can fail too.
N57, get it done ASAP. Mine was on 94k and as sloppy as a sloppy thing. Caught it just in time thankfully. It’s an engine out job
£7000 way too much that should have been less than 6k I take it that will be one to give away now eh.

If this perception relates to private sellers or drive away traders it’s always buyer beware regardless of town/city or skin colour. You’ll get done over by the person you least expect.
But if you’re talking about independent dealers in 2024 look at the finance company that partners the dealer. Motonovo, Blackhorse, Santander etc won’t deal with just anybody.
