    Maybe put a old box with a cushion in it at the bottom of the press & make a spacer for the crank web good luck pal

    I like your dial gage set up. I need one like it and hope I won't need it. How common is crankshaft spreading? Just wondering.

    I'm sure glad you put this up. I may have to do this. ( Gotta figure out how post a pix on here to show you my engine lift hooche) I got a question that may be related to this video. I have my engine out and on a stand. I pulled the plugs and turn it over using the kick start. It makes a sound like Clock-Clock. I know what a double knock means on a car. What should these engines sound like turning them over with no plugs?

    • @OldBiker
      @OldBiker  Před 5 lety

      The clock-clock sound is more or less what I got with the worn little ends, they don't have to be worn much to make a racket either. With any weird noise its always best to tear down the top end and have a good look around.

    Is there a company that makes the plates for pressing your own crankshaft like that?

    • @OldBiker
      @OldBiker  Před 4 lety +1

      I couldn't find one, but now I work for a sheet metal company, I may ask about getting some made.

      @OldBiker  Před 4 lety +1

      20 seemed to be OK and I couldn't find anything bigger for the price I wanted to pay, yeah it come with press plates but the press plates were rubbish and not man enough for the job, I've since purchased much better ones.

      @@officialmysteriousrider6327 Next vid I do I will show you the new plates compared to the ones that come with it, oh the press by the way is well useful for pressing in and out bearings, I've already done several jobs on it and it is well worth the money the time it saves. My favorite tool of the month though has to be the cordless impact wrench!
