Nearly a decade after retiring from eligible competition Denise Beillman does a perfect triple Lutz, in an era where female professional figure skaters completely let go of their technical prowess after retiring. What an incredible athlete!

Not only that but she did a Lutz in an era where it was only BEGINNING to be common in Olympic level women's competition, yet she'd been doing them on and off for a decade.
The world champion in 1990 did not have the Lutz in her arsenal.

@@Juice_Lover123 Denise Beillman and Midori Ito really exposed how corrupted the judging system really was. They were both the best free skaters of their era, but because the school figures the judges were able to manipulate the world standings.

@@thangvuong9196 I can't fault you there. Biellmann really should have dominated the 80s. Ito, in her late 80s prime, should have had more than one world title and should have been on the podium in 1988.

I've said before... if she had remained an amateur I bet she would have won Olympic medals in 84, 88, and 92!!

Imagine if she had reinstated to compete in 1994. She beat all of the women who competed in the Olympics in pro competitons later that year. I'd have liked her chances for good results in amateur events especially if she had the Lutz and loop back in her arsenal. I can easily see her winning bronze at 94 Euros had she been there with full technical content and clean programs.
