this is wild...a big football crazy nation like brazil has its pride in football..how can they bow down to a US company ..they all were millionares in the best leagues anyway with or without nike..its hard to believe this version where "half of the team" is in on it..they may put pressure on the coach to put ronaldo in but if its rigged then it is much bigger (famous football players are part of certain societies ) ...i started to think about the 2022 world cup where the entire french team suddenly got the "flu" before the final ..and they certainly played like it for 80 minutes..messi having his emir connections..losing to the saudis so they are happy..that may have put the arab powerstructure/hotels etc on their side
and it goes the other way around too..germany had the flu in 2014 right before their infamous 7:1 match against brazil...my theory was with a flu they are allowed to take certain medications that can cloud the doping control..i mean they played like it
but at the end of the day its just speculation...argentina was really a strong team over motivated against the french...having their incredible fans behind them just gives them power and messi is the goat no doubt....and the french against brazil 1998 had the same team spirit..one for all , all for one..

Suddenly, it was all hushed up and forgotten. Then the very next year, Hakkinen snores his way to the EASIEST world title ever. I was so disgusted that I just about gave up. But that 98 World Cup final was so off it did not feel right. It felt like decision was already made for 🇫🇷 to win before the game started. 🇧🇷 was playing so bad, I've never seen the golden generation 🇧🇷 play that bad. Ronaldo in that match was pretty much non-existent even Rivaldo & all the other main guys. Something was really wrong with that 98 World Cup final that till this day does not sit well with me, just like with the 06 World Cup final & some of the 22 World Cup matches. I'm not going to deny Zidane's talent because even for me he's one of the best of that generation, but he was definitely not on Ronaldo (R9), Ronaldinho (R10/R11) & Rivaldo (R10) in their prime, especially the first two in their prime.

It wasn't rigged and no one tried to kill Ronaldo, the first theory you mention about Xylocaine sounds the most logical and explains everything quite clearly in terms of Ronaldo's weak knees. And are we seriously going to dismiss it just because his doctor who doesn't even know what a convulsion is said no one was taking any injection, obviously they are going to try to hide this information from public for as long as possible.
As for the match itself, yes Nike forced Ronaldo to play because of the huge money deal, but that's not rigging the match, they didn't care who won the final, they just wanted to make sure their investment is represented and Brazil played poorly because they were shook up by Ronaldo's near death experience and couldn't focus on the match, so obviously easy match for France.
Going into fancy and complex theories is fun and all, but in reality things are never so complicated, all the corrupt and shady shit that happens is always done in the simplest way possible, this ain't the movies where the villain plans some crazy sequence of events that would require all the start to align to happen.
Also Brazil would never throw a final just to get a easy group stage in the next World Cup, that makes zero logic.

All because he simply HAD to play for the fans and yes for Nike too. By the time the final started Ronaldo was just a mess and the whole teams morale was just destroyed. I think a big flaw that showed up was not having Romario. Edmundo was too much of a drop off but Romario was elite as well and would’ve been able to play by the time of the knock out stages from injury. Romario would’ve been the perfect cushion for Ronaldo who simply suffered too much physically and he even payed for it more even after that World Cup.
