@Landen Denisenko You are absolutely right! While many of the French embraced First Nations people and even procreated and learned to live in harmony with them, the British ramsacked First Nation villages and imposed their will by eliminating everyone who stood in their way! Such fine upstanding citizens those British were! Much to be proud of!

I'd love to see Boston-Montreal for obvious reasons. But if we're talking all time rivalries including defunct teams, the Battle of Quebec is up there. It was more then just a rivalry between two teams, it was a war between rival cities (Quebec City is the provincial capital, Montreal is Quebec's largest city), two political ideologies (Nords for Quebec separatism, Montreal for those who wish to remain with Canada and Parti Quebecois vs Quebec Liberal Party) and two completing breweries (Molson Brewery for the Habs and Carling O'Keefe owned the Nordiques. ironically, Molson now owns Carling O'Keefe's).

The passion and rivalry between these two teams is still alive, which i'm glad that it is, because i think it brings out the best in the two teams and their players which makes for hockey that you won't see anywhere else or action that is like no other and helps hockey to progress, by making a better product for everyone including the fans. And maybe it can bring out others to get them into hockey which is good for the fan base of the N.H.L and their teams and players. Which a rivalry can only help by improving hockey by taking it to the next level and preparing it for the future of the game.

I don't really get this rivalry. For real old senior citizens that can remember the 70s and earlier ok that I can get. However from 1980 until 2023, they have met 1 time in the playoffs. in 43 years they have had one, ONE, playoff series! For me to have a rivalry you have to meet in the playoffs and that team has to have eliminated your team many times. This has only happened one time in almost a half century. The regular season means nothing, there are no elimination games in the regular season. Only senior citizens remember when these 2 teams had meaningful playoff games against each other.

The Habs are the Leafs real rivals, sure Ottawa always loses to the leafs, and Boston has won a ton of series against the leafs, but the Habs and Leafs went back an forth

They had this rule in place because the english teams didn’t want to draft french speaking players because of the language barrier dummy!

It's funny how wrong you are. Leafs fans obviously care much more about the boston-leafs rivalry right now anyway. Montreal, on the other hand, seems to care a lot more
