    My local art club had a garage sale last summer to help pay rent...and I managed to purchase a set of 11 beam paint stones for $6 total! They are amazing. Because they were donated and stored in a cheap plastic container...no one knew what they were and priced them at $1. Crazy but I offered them more because I saw the beam wax cloth wrappers and knew what these were actually worth. Thanks for sharing!

    Haven't watched one of her videos in a while and I just sat down to do some schoolwork as she started painting, and was so astounded at how well everything came together and how beautiful it was. Hands down my favorite artist.

    I'm so in love with this painting OH MY GOD
    I stared at the thumbnail in the notification thingy for a couple minutes before actually opening the vid. Your paintings have so much emotion, and it's so clear for me, and so striking! And the way you paint is also so beautiful, I can't describe.
    Thank you so much for your work and your videos! You always make me stand up and go paint something.

    That's funny about the preciousness of keeping things pristine, I've always had the opposite feeling about my watercolors. A well loved pallette to me looks like a mess, I love things to look used. Also makes it easier to make grays and neutrals when there is paint everywhere 😂

    • @georgecooper9766
      @georgecooper9766 Před 3 lety +1

      Haha yeah one of the main reasons I settled on watercolours as my main medium is how messy I can get without worrying about destroying the things around me. And I love the pretty chaos of a well used palette.

    Hi, I had a question about handmade watercolours, ive been following your videos to make the binder and for making my own watercolours. The problem im facing is after the watercolours dry they become very rigid and are difficult to re wet. at first i thought it was my binder so i made another batch which was better than the first and i was confident it would work but the same thing happened. should i add more honey or can you suggest anything? im really clueless. but i wanted to say thank youu, i learn a lot from youuu :)

    Sometimes when something is very expensive, people have a hard time acknowledging that it's not very good. These paints don't look good, at all, but luckily for us your artwork is still beautiful despite that.

  • @amberdreams_0
    @amberdreams_0 Před 3 lety

    I wonder if the naturalism of the materials you were using influenced your painting in other ways, because I found that face more natural-looking than your usual portraits in terms of the proportions. Plus of course, the more muted, pastel colours - though of course the shades you used aren't that natural for skin in real life! Whatever, this was, as always, a joy to watch.
    I am now resisting ordering Beam paints. I do not need more paint. I do not need more paint...😂

    • @soon_to_emerge
      @soon_to_emerge Před 3 lety +1

      @Ana J a big chunk of wood for just one palette? Idk what needs to be explained here.
      They could have, at least, make wells close to each other or make traditional layout, so that there would be more palettes from the same amount of wood.

    • @Snowmouse
      @Snowmouse Před 3 lety +9

      As far as I know, all the wood used for these palettes is offcuts from a sustainable Indigenous lumber business on Manitoulin island where these paints are made, so if anything these wooden palettes are eliminating waste. Also when you think about it, the resources that go into a plastic or metal palettes, a simple piece of wood is a lot less demanding of resources.
      If you’re curious about the sustainability of Beam Paints, you should absolutely check out their website!

  • @loati94
