I own this laptop for 4-5 years and I would highly recommend it to everyone. Only problem is it doesn't have a disc (DVD/CD) input which could prove a problem for some of you (not for me). I have my HDD and SSD at almost maximum capacity and its still running great. Highly recommended.

This new one caught my eye, I just started looking at the 17in variant. The 120hz IPS Panel sounds very appeasing. I kinda want to order one right now, but also want to read more reviews there aren't many out yet :/

I think this HP omen is a bit overpriced but you got the best current technology (cpu gpu Thunderbolt 3...)
I have always considered HP as an unreliable brand but I think this is not the case anymore

The base model cost RM3899 (approx. $912) But still, i agree w u, they came w/ the best current technology. And me too ! I've always considered hp to be the worst, i tried staying away from it. Till now. 😂

Informative review.But I found a "new HP omen " online with 1TB HDD and no SSD memory.Is it possible to fit in an additional SSD later on? How can I make sure it has an SSD slot?

Here in Finland, we have got the same model with i7 7700hq and 1060 6gb. The panel is 120hz 1080p. It has 256gb PCIe ssd and 1tb hdd. The price is 1399€, but on black friday it might be cheaper

How long would the battery last unplugged watching youtube videos and web surfing?
Hi, I really want the 17.3 screen but the 120Hz or G-Sync are way of my budget. I'm thinking of the gtx 1050ti with that screen : 43.9 cm (17.3") diagonal FHD IPS anti-glare (1920 x 1080) display. Is it worth it? How is it compared to a macbook air? I'm mainly asking for movies and series, as I already have a PS4 for gaming, I just want to be able to play a few things on my laptop too.
Do you know anything about possible upgrades?
Where did you bought it ? In HP website/phone command it's impossible to add the 60$ full hd 120hertz IPS (Canada)

I owned this laptop for months. Based on my personal experience, this laptop always run warm or hot when I am performing heavy tasks (rendering, simulations & gaming), which is not so comfortable to put on your lap and typing. The fan noise is also audible. As for the aesthetics, it managed to catch all the attentions from my friends. Most of them like the look of this laptop very much. In addition, the sound coming out from the laptop is clear, however the screen is a little dim, have to increase the brightness close to maximum for proper experience. Just wish the cooling can be better.
Will Tan what is better - pick up 1060 model or 1050ti? and also there should be differences in weight of power supply for 1050 and 1060 models.

picked up dell xps 9560 with 1050 4gb / 32gb ram / 1Tb SSD on board. Built quality is not so good as I expected, but performance is good for me and fans are quite enough. 4k display is gorgeous. Tried to game BattleField 4 - got > 30 fps for FHD / high/medium settings.
in Russia I paid 2k USD for US model.
how about the cooling system of this one? coz as you'll know hp has issues with cooling...pls advise tnx

Hi there. I own a omen laptop, the 120hz v. I use it a lot and i wanted to save the battery spawn lifetime (save the number of times the battery can be charged and uncharged) so i was wondering if it is possible to remove the battery and run it only with the charger, or somehow "by-pass" the battery so i don't have to waste it while i'm at work? PS: i'm no technical expert so i'm sorry if i made myself ridiculous with the question. Cheers!

Hi, i have this laptop with all specs the same apart from the SSD is 128gb, the site i bought it from here in the UK states that the max ram supported is 8gb yet the laptop has an 8gb stick installed and 1 slot free, would i be able to upgrade to 16gb? my dell inspiron 7559 corrupeted last tuesday, and i am thinking about getting this one. Dell has automatic updates which is a really bad idea in my opinion, i would have had to replace the motherboard.
Can someone help i got this 2 months ago october 2017, just a week ago It started making this rattling noise or grinding noise from one one of the fans (Left fan to be specific) and i dont know what to do can someone help, And the noise is VERY loud.

I liked the review. However, I feel that price is a bit steep for the specs shown. I also feel that the 120hz screen is nearly wasted on a 1050ti without lowering settings. High is great but, personally, if I can run 60+ on ultra, that's where I'll be. No way I'd lower settings to maximize to peak refresh rate. Perhaps, if I'm playing competitively.

Andrew Tran I ordered, what I assume to be, the mid-range option, i.e. the 15-ce009nc. i7-7700HQ, GTX 1050Ti, 8GB RAM (considering upgrading to 16GB myself though), and 256gb SSD + 1TB HDD. :-)
