@CaffeinatedBloodstream no it doesn't, the main point is 'mature', I just see young geeky men or women. I always assume most older women or men are like my parents, they don't even know where the power button is.

WoW!! Best review for this laptop. I watched so many other reviews on it so far and NOT 1 person compared it with the older model or took the back cover off. Thank you for helping me make up my mind.
Not all plastic, keyboard area is aluminium. And actually very well built. Solid with hardly any flex and no creaking. Also they are not all with red keys. Some have black keys with white outlining the wasd keys.
depends on how you define well build... when I tried to repaste mine as soon as the bottom cover was taken, I felt like if I put enough pressure the frame would break... that's how fragile it feels... the screen bezel is also flimsy but seems durable though I don't know much since I didn't try to take on the screen
Great overview. Regarding why there is overlap of HP Omen designs is because HP introduces their new designs mid-year which doesn't sync when Intel/AMD releases their respective processors. Thus, you'll see an intermingling of previous year and current year designs with previous year/current year processors. Confusing? Can be. Ravi Peiris M.D.
The best review i've seen for this laptop. I was checking every videos because i'm about to buy it, it's affordable and stuff and i really like its design. Thanks!!
Watching this on my 2019 model Omen with an i7-9750h & GTX 1650...I just bought it yesterday and I love it! It was a HUGE upgrade from my previous laptop from 2013. Buttery smooth performance.
@@deepsakky I love it! New games run on high or ultra settings very smoothly. I got a great sale from Target - only $899. They have increased the price to $949 but that's still about $200 cheaper than HP's own website for the same specs I have in mine.
I have the previous model (2018 i believe). It was around 10 months when I had cracked A,S,D keys, literally in half. Now I use duck tape to hold them together, poor keyboard design. Also the inbuilt speakers are pretty bad and tend to distort a lot even in moderate volume. You're getting good specs, but very much budget to mid tier built quality despite of what the futuristic design would suggest.
i have the aero 15x, i like to call it my screaming eagle because of the fan. sumbich tries to take flight when it hits last gear. but the performance it gets with that battery life in that form factor is unmatchable
Brad Haines You can use the Smart Manager app to configure the fan. You should only be hearing the fan when the GPU is pushing itself. I leave mine in silent mode when on battery and normal mode when plugged in. Switch to gaming mode when outputting games at 144fps.
I got one in 2018 and its perfect, the perfect laptop and the best so far,it cost me a lot but it was wort it,is intel core i7,8th gen,gtx1050,and the surprise was that only now I figured out on youtube that is working in 8K,it s amazing,a tv will cost about 3000 euros but I know a tv has a bigger screen,I don t have any problems soo far,the colling sistem is very good,if you get some fresh wind in the back of the laptop it will note heat at all,but if you over heated and then you turn it off,in,idk,20 seconds it s all good, best achzition ,recommend 1000 stars, and nice video btw
Very nice review and you actually compared it with the dell g7 which is it's perfect competitor, no one else did that and I appreciate your review for this
I have it with a core i7 and gtx 1050ti or 1060 i think ... its worth every penny ... gaming quality is off the charts but the design is the main reason i bought it
I needed to trade my ryzen 1700x / 32gb of ram / rx 580 which I didn't have room for anymore for a laptop that I could use for light blender and some davinci resolve work - found someone that wanted extra cores in a desktop for streaming. So far - happy with the trade! The fans might be the worst issue in the end, but as a desktop replacement I think I did ok on that trade. Hopefully I can afford a threadripper later in the year to do a real upgrade. This laptop will keep me in the ballpark. Cheers! This review helped push me over the edge to make the trade.
How is the WiFi & BT card? You did not speak about it. Its Realtek as per you. But how is it compared to inter 9560 or killer 1550?? Please reply. Thanks.
why does not the video show the laptop with its power adapter connected to it? i don't get why hp puts power input on the right side of the laptop. asus laptops have the excellent design as always.
Thank you for pointing out that there are different chassis and that they have different performance. I was going to make the purchase for this laptop in wallmart when i noticed that it was to old chassi model. I looking for the 17" with the gtx 1060 review now, to see if there are different chassis for that too.
Thank you for a great review and the only one I have found that mentions the colour range. I even contacted HP direct and they had no idea ??? One of their reps even said they don't sell a 114 hz screen just a 120hz. I am looking to get the bigger 17" screen version (Model Number an101na) will this also have the same colour range ? Also you say this is good for creatives (I'm a photographer) and the colour range is good but I see the Gama and contrast a little lower than you said in one of your other videos You recommended Gama close to 2.2 this is 1.9 and you recommended contrast 800:1 this is 660:1 Thanks for the information
Very good review. But may I ask why does during the device preview that there are really some noticeable dust or lints on the units? Its just that cleaner and dust free laptops during the preview should make it better at least for me. Some tech reviewers do pull it off.
Microcenter has the GTX 1060 i7 model for 1099 I brought mines for 999 best deal for a laptop for that price range. Small footprint compared to the G7.
j0a0a7 I did the same thing with the open box discount and it ended up being $960!!! Already got 32gb 2666 ram in her with a 1tb Samsung m.2 NVMe and will soon replace the 7k 1tb hd with a nice fat SSD!! Love my omen!
Micro Center has this and the new Acer Aspire 7 listed at the same price. They essentially have the same specs but the Aspire 7 has a 17 inch screen. Which would you go with?
Is it worth buying this Laptop now? (May 2019) is it still a viable gaming laptop, have a good deal from a supplier online and I am in the market for a new laptop.
The reason they still sell the old chassis is because of clearing the old stock... You can usually get awesome discounts if you choose the old chassis over the new one at over HP.com even on the same specs, ALSO ALSO the new chassis is obviously not handling that 8750H so well that is why the older chassis with more TDP headroom might come in handy.

Which is the better gaming laptop HP Omen, Alienware, MSI or Predator? I am looking at getting a gaming laptop next year and want to get the best one I can get though I also have a HP Omen desktop.
If anyone is interested in the laptop make sure to buy it directly from HP. You can go figure it the way you want. Also use the Promo Code 25GAMER and you’ll save 25% off the price. You can get a pretty loaded model with a 144hz screen and 1070 max-q for under $1500.
i had the omen 17 with i7 8750H and gtx 1070 - HP said its vr ready... i returned my unit 3 times and they still were not able to get it to work... no recommendation from me
I have one question, If I charge the battery while I am playing or just using the computer, does the battery loses it's life usage or not? Is it good to keep charging once the battery is 100% charged? Thank you
I would like to recommend something @Lisa. You should review the older Dell Precision M4600/M4700. I got my M4600 with an i7 2920MX, 24GB RAM, Quadro 2000M and two SSD's. The Full HD options are epic. This is a really cheap highend workstation. May be interesting for a lot of poeple.
LISA: just a small question. did you say that geforce GTX1050 laptop is COOLER than the GTX 1060 with maxQ ? I am ooking for a smart computer that doesnt heat up while 3d designing and rendering. thank you
I'm starting to get into computers soooooo I didn't understand a single thing she said other then majority of it is made of plastic lol. Can anyone clarify if I should get this or not. I just want one for simple gaming like forza horizon and fortnite etc and simple college homework lol it would be gladly appreciated .
I got this laptop but with a GTX 1060 handles games like a champ. No issues with playing forza horizon 3 and 4 @ ultra settings. Shadow of the Tomb raider max settings @ 1080p fps hovers around 50 fps could get 60 but I go for the visuals. If you have a microcenter closed by they have it new for 1099 and open box for 998.
That's odd. I thought the Omen 15 was supposed to not use Nvidia Optimus. It doesn't seem that I can use the integrated graphics on mine. Not a complaint really. May be they have different variants or it depends on the region?
Hey, great review, I'm planning to buy it soon, is the 1070 maxq thermal throttling, can it be solved by undervolting? Should I go for the 1060 or the 1070 maxq ( need maximum performance)?
If you undervolt, and use the aggressive fan preset it shouldn't thermal throttle. If it's still throttling you could repaste it with som high quality paste, if you know what your doing.
If you’re going with the 1050ti then you should rather go for the dell xps 15. Amazing amazing screen. If not dell then go for the hp omen 15 with 16 gigs ram , i7-8750h 144hz 1920 by 1080 and a gtx 1060. I would recommend the gtx 1060 6gb its really good
Please I need your help...I'love to buy an Omen 15t but I would like to know the power adapter watts(we use solar and our max is 80 watts)..60watt or 90watt..
Need advice about gaming laptop that has heat ventilation on the side or in front side so that I can play on the blanket for example. I like HP Omen 2018 but it has ventilation downside and I guess it will overheat if I play on some soft surface.
I have a weirder model of the OMEN 2018 15, it has RGB 4 zones keyboard, 1050 4GB, Intel I 7 8750 H, 8 GB ram, 1 TB 7000 RPM with thunderbolt enable! also the heat pipe covers the M2 NVme
I got one with a 2070 max q for only 1600 on new egg with 500ssd. The things a beast at 1080p. Don't get the 4k screen it's only 60hz and your not gonna notice much of a difference on a small screen. Best speakers I've heard on a small laptop. I definately recommend a cooling bad and ambient room temperature if you're going to push it. I was originally gonna go with an Alienware a Dell deal but still saved over 300. I refuse to spend 2 grand on a laptop, since the components even in higher end models are gonna go eventually and as fast as tech advances it's not worth it. The sweet spot for gaming laptops is 4 to 5 years so why spend anymore. Plus this ha the thunderbolt port once the GPU becomes dated you can run external graphics. It may be mid range but it is in know way mid performance. Sure it may not not be as durable as an Alienware but if your careful with it. It's all good.

I have a weirder model of the OMEN 2018 15, it has RGB 4 zones keyboard, 1050 4GB, Intel I 7 8750 H, 8 GB ram, 1 TB 7000 RPM with thunderbolt enable! also the heat pipe covers the M2 NVme
Kinred Fox i've seen this one. Do you have the possibility to add an ssd ?
Yes it has😍💪
Y530 or G7 or Helios 300?
Which have least thermal problem?
display port mini... what does it mean? Comparable to display port 1.3?
What is the meaning of this special button on the laptop as an omen sign
it brings up the omen gaming hub
