  • Today we are replacing the battery of a rearview mirror DVR. This DVR have been with me for around 4 years and already shown signs of battery degradation for a few months.
    Among tell tale signs was that it no longer charges. Unplug the power and the unit turns itself off immediately. And frequent shut downs during operation time.

    Thumbs up 👍 for the video demo on the repairing. By reusing repaired item, we are also helping in slowing down the increment of electronic trash on earth.

      Indeed, we live in a time where everything is disposable. So its good to be able to repair and reuse some of the items. Reduces our carbon footprint and also good for our pocket.

    I changed my cheap Kogan mirror battery after removing the IR filter on the camera. It just unplugged. I'm turning it into a night vision camera just for something to do.

    When replacing the battery, can you attach a JT plug on it, so you won't need to solder it everytime you replace it?

    Thank you for your video. I need to replace the battery in my back up camera but how do I know which to buy. I want to take the mirror apart one time. It is 600 mili amp I read and my supplier is no help. What type of battery is this?

    • @TCsAnythingGoes
      @TCsAnythingGoes  Před 4 lety

      This was a Lipo (lithium polymer) battery. Best is to dismantle your DVR and see what size it is using and what's the rating. Different DVR has different spec batteries. If the interior is big enough, you can put a higher capacity battery but make sure the input and output rating is the same.

    Hi, I have the same Eagle-i DVR 6019 like yours. May I know where to get the batteries if possible the same size & capacity?

      its been awhile and I got it from AliExpress. Not sure if they do sell it anymore cause my shopping history is gone cause.... i forgot my username and password. Been awhile since I purchased anything off Aliexpress (since the exchange rate hit 4 ringgit per dollar )

    I changed the battery on my mirror camera but it doesn't recognize it. I don't see the battery icon on the screen. The battery is fully charged. What could be the problem?

    • @TCsAnythingGoes
      @TCsAnythingGoes  Před 3 lety +1

      1 thing i can think of is that the battery is not compatible with the DVR.

      bought it online but from a local seller. Initially i bought from oversea seller but after months and months of waiting, I gave up and requested a refund. Guess shipping batteries from China to Malaysia is kinda hard.

    Hello...
    I have one question about cam.
    I bought Jansite dash cam.
    Displey on the left side.
    I put memory card 16 gb.
    I have problem with adjusting time and date when I turn on camera... It cant memory date and time. Everytime when I set this data, it is correct. When I turn off car, it deleted date and time and put 2019 year.... Everytime I need again to set time and date.
    Do anyone know, what is the problem?
    Tnx

    • @TCsAnythingGoes
      @TCsAnythingGoes  Před 4 lety

      You probably have a faulty battery or no battery in the unit. To test this out, once you have booted the dash cam, unplug the power source and see if the battery bar goes straight to 0 and turn off OR if it continues shutting down normally.
      If the battery bar goes straight to 0 and turn off immediately, that means your battery is dead.
      If it does not.... then i suspect you might have a faulty unit..... maybe. Can't say for sure as I did not have the chance to purchase a Jansite dashcam.

      @@TCsAnythingGoes thanks for responding.
      Every time when I turn off the car, emediatelly the camera turns off. Once I charged cam more that 7 hours, before that, I adjust time and date after charging, I turn off the cam. The result was same, it returns date at 2019 year 01 01 like always.
      I doubt that battery is not ok or it doesnt have it.
      Everytime when I turn on the car, I need to adjust time and date.
      Thanks again.
      I changed cam where I bought it with another, but and that another cam is working the same
