    All I can say is even if the show isn't perfect as no show can truly the characters and their adventures that lead into the finale were just lovable and emotional and truly something inspiring. I know marcy's journal is coming in November to fill in some gaps but for the series as a whole id say it's one of the best shows that has happened in modern cartoons that feels complete even without lore extensions. These characters finally got their happily ever after and I hope Matt and the crew does too. Thank you for everything amphibia you truly will be missed!!!!!

    Those last three episodes were simply... perfect. I wouldn't have changed a thing. And even if I could I probably still wouldn't have had enough time to because these shows are made on a deadline and people gotta get paid. Never in all of my short, fleeting years did I ever think a monster like Andrias could ever make me cry and make me feel bad for him as much as he did.
    Sure, he was still a very fun villain even after his big villain reveal moment but after everything he had done and after all the pain that he had wrought upon Amphibia I too thought that there was no going back. Andrias, however, being the well written and excellent villain that he is, exceeded my expectations by miles and his scene in All In was where I couldn't hold it in any longer. I cried. I cried like suffering, slowly-dying roadkill in the middle of the sun-heated road.
    What else is there to say? It all came together so perfectly that I have no other words. You can say a lot more things about something objectively bad but that's what's so special about something when it's just that good. You can point out all of the things wrong with the bad thing but for the good thing? You just watch. You take it all in. Experience every little piece. And that's all you need. Scenes like Andrias' one were all that I needed.

    • @rjs4176
      @rjs4176 Před 2 lety +3

      @@averagecartoonfan3519 Not every episode of every show on the goddamn planet needs to be in service of the story. Whether you want to believe it or not Amphibia has always been partially episodic, if not for those in-between adventures Amphibia wouldn't have made it out alive past its first season.
      Plus it's not like the episodic episodes were all that bad quality wise or anything, most of them stand on their own as great pieces of entertainment so I see no benefit in removing them. They also don't disrupt the overarching story happening at the same time so that's great.
      I also don't understand how people think that if something is fast paced then that must mean it's rushed, _no._ It doesn't mean that. If you asked me Amphibia's finale didn't waste even a second. Everything was at the exact pace it needed to be to match the severity of the situation and heat of the moment, it's probably one of the most well paced episodes of the whole show in my opinion.
      Of coarse everyone's gonna have different thoughts on these things but I definitely don't think the finale was rushed personally. Everybody says that about every series finale nowadays so you saying it right now kind of makes it lose just a little more of its meaning.

    "she embodies the stones so well" no because she literally does, and even though the stones each chose one of the three girls and for good reason, the show also gave us two moments in Beginning of the end and All in that showcase how Anne represents the other two stones. (Whether this is intentional or not is probably up to debate, but I like seeing it that way). In Beginning of the end, Anne manages to use her quick thinking and perceptiveness to outsmart the core, buying her and her friends just enough time to find a way to escape. The core might try to deny it was outsmarted, but in that moment it knew just as much as any mere mortal in the room, the ultimate insult to it's intelligence. And then later in All in, Anne's power starts fading and as people cheer for her, she channels Sasha and pushes through with sheer force of will, the same thing that got Sasha through her temple trial.

      My favorite thing about the The episodes set on Earth was that it was a change in the show that it could handle. No longer was Anne the stranger in the fantasy world. She was different and mature. And by the time they got to Earth, the Plantar family were fully established characters with flaws that could be used to play with the Los Angeles area. This was Anne’s home with her family and it gave insight to who Anne was without flashbacks and who she was going to be.

Plus, and when it was time to get back to Amphibia, it was even more awesome, not just seeing them rally up all the creatures that inhabit Amphibia to join forces in the finale, but also to have some more character development, like with Anne and Sasha finally making amends, and learning more about King Andrias and to see that he is a lot more sympathetic than you think. And when we get to the final three episodes, well, to put this shortly, where True Colors was the Avengers Infinity War of Amphibia, the final three episodes of the series was the Avengers Endgame of Amphibia.

    I'd like to add the Core to the list of characters that shined in the finale. We truly got to see what a heartless monster the thing was, both with it's gleeful and sadistic attitude as Darcey (That 'disarmed' line man...), The fact that it's willing to destroy the entire civilization and world it came from purely to preserve itself, and it's chilling "Fools! you cannot defeat a GOD!" line. And yet, inspite of all that power and knowledge, it's almost kind of pathetic. It's a selfish and petty manipulator who's willing to destroy its own world before admitting defeat. Wait, I just realized something; the final battle of season 1 was against a (at the time) selfish manipulator, and so is the final battle of season 3. thematic parrelels, babyyyy!

    oh boy...idk how to even start all this. I love Amphibia, to a great degree. This 3 season show, with it short life span that had so many out of context memes was just..beautiful.
    I was introduced to Amphibia by a friend of mine shortly after season 3 started. I was at first hesitant because I am not great with new shows that are made by Disney due to many issues I got about the company. But my friend insisted and shared the first episode with me. I was not hooked, but was interested enough to give the first 3 episodes a try. Each episode I fell more and more in love with the show. How it tackles many problems a teenager has about responsibility and growth while placing it in a bizarre world we know practically nothing about. I want to go over each season and how I saw it, their high ups and the downs.
    Season one was the introduction to the amphibious land we got to meet. At first I thought it was ok, nothing special, but..i kept coming back. I only hesitated on one episode "Girl's day" because it was the least relatable and likable for me until the end, just be who you are, do not be ashamed. We learned so much about the land and how it worked. With the end meeting Sasha. At first I did not like her "end of discussion" attitude. But...something just told me to keep watching. And so I did. I saw how the small frogs stood up to the bully toads. As if to say "even if you are smaller and weaker, you can win as long as you use what you can to outsmart/outpace them. Do not let yourself be bullied by people.
    Season 2 is the adventure to Newtopia and learning more about the newts themselves. Many things were told to us, such as to never take things at face value. We also met best girl Mar Mar here. She is a simply sweet, nerdy, dorky girl who just wants to live a life of adventure with her friends. We learn that lies only get so far, but friends you can trust get you farther. We also learn that simply because a person seems friendly, does not mean that is all they are. True colors truly showed this with Andrias. A giant newt who seemed to have a heart bigger than himself. This season also helped show that we all have out strengths and weaknesses. Wether it be physically, mentally, or emotionally. The season finally was heartbreaking after learning just why they were sent to Amphibia.
    Season 3 shows us that even though we are in a new place, does not mean its going to be so bad. While yes, the earth episodes were slower I still loved them. With my favorite being Temple Frogs. Showing us more Thai culture, the love people in our community has for us, even if we are not there to witness it. We also learn of how things can be a great blessing at first can be something else if not looked in to.
    Season 3b is where all of seasons 1,2 and 3a culminate in to the rebellion against Andias and the core. It shows us that those we had encountered before can potentially come and help us in the future. Learning Andias's backstory was truly heartbreaking, making him a villain that i love. He was not evil to be evil, but was forced in to it. Molded like clay in to the man we saw, but he did not want it. We saw sacrifice after sacrifice. A battle to rival that of one of the best in all of animation, that being Sozen's Comet from Avatar the last Airbender (personal opinion). Anne even tought their universe's version of god that people need to grow before given responsibility yes, but to let them grow how they want. We can not stop change, it is inevitable, but that does not mean we can not be together in our hearts. If a friendship is strong enough, it will still exist, even if you are apart.
    I cried during the last 3 episodes and writing this. I did leave out a lot, there was just too much to note here or explain in a simple comment from a person like me. But if this show taught me anything, it would be this. Everything stays right where you left it, even if it has changed. And to be happy for all the loving memories you made with it.

    So the finale………. Was Forken amazing!!! First let’s just talk about the fact that Anne technically did die. I guess there are just two ends now and one of them is dead and the other one still alive and a clone. So you know that’s fun to think about. Marcy and Sasha‘s calamity powers were great. I always wanted to see what Polly would look like as a frog so I’m happy we got that. Turns out Bog and his gang opened up a junk service. Olivia and Yunan as a ship is great. There’s just so much more I could say about how amazing the episode was but I do have a few nitpicks. We didn’t get to see Sasha and Marcy‘s parents which makes me wonder why the scene were Anne sent them a letter at the end of the Christmas episode was even a thing. If it was just to show us the Sasha‘s parents were divorced I feel like there are other ways they could’ve done that. We know that Gary is not the last of his species but we never actually got to see another member of his species. How come when Anne opened the calamity box after she stole it the box just automatically transported her and her friends to amphibia. Every other time the box is used it opens up a portal it doesn’t just transport people all willy-nilly. Also I’m kind of upset that we didn’t get to see Marcy say goodbye to Maddie. But all of those are relatively small things that don’t really take away from my enjoyment of the episode. This was a great series finale

      Gary's actually standing next to his new Fungi friend during the Finale in Wartwood, just look for Jeremy and two little mushrooms next to some plants.
      Also. On the Box instantly teleporting the girls the first time only. I assume since the Stones are implied to be self aware, they decided to kickstart the girls journey and development by opening the portal.
      The only other option is that the settings were somehow still set to "automatic transport" when Leif hide it after hanging out with the Vikings.

I thought this video was gonna be one of those and I was gonna click off ten minutes into the video and forget about it. Yes, I actually did. ONLY BECAUSE I GOT WAY TOO EXCITED ABOUT THIS VIDEO THIS IS ONE OF THE BEST VIDEOS I HAVE SEEN IN YEARS AND GOD YOU HAD ME EXCITED ABOUT AMPHIBIA ALL OVER AGAIN! I had to click off a few times and roll around in excitement, and the speech you gave about Anne actually made me cry a little. Cause if so, nice choice of music. They certainly make fantastically stunning and epic music. As for favourite or memorable moments, I can't decide on one singular one as I have too many.

    If Disney thinks serialized cartoons are out of whack and kids can't follow, nor can they get any rerun benefits from them, then there are tons of Japanese animators past an present. laughing their guts out along with Hasbro as of recent times, and also all of us who grew up on serialized Japanese imports that we grew up with in the 80s and 90s. Disney has lost it's way, and I don't know if they will ever find it again.

    I for one think that season 3 of Amphibia had many, many flaws, most caused by the Disney order to end the show asap, but Matt and the crew also goofed in some places. I even think that in some places the 3 final episodes were rushed, but I know that they had to take a lot of shortcuts in order to convey so many messages into only 3 episodes. But in the end, when it was time to say goodbye I cried like a little baby, begging for the story to last, to not end at all cost. I don't know if I managed to do the hardest thing, to say goodbye, but I know that this adventure was one in a lifetime experience which I will never forget. Thank you everyone who marched alongside on this amazing journey.
    As far as my favorite moment of the show:
    1. (The goofy one) When Sprig just yeets himself onto the Grim. They way he flies screaming 'HEEEADS UP' just fcking destroys me every time
    2. When Sprig and Anne were on a balcony and the iconic line 'Can you miss someone you never actually knew?'. Every time I watch it I get hit in my guts. The way Sprig's eyes fill with tears, the hug which Anne gave without an inch of hesitation, the music, the background, all of this just... touched me in a way I didn't know it was possible. It just reminds me of a similar hug which my friend gave in my dark hour.
    All in all, love you Amphibia, you really were the best

    Honestly I liked seeing the Plantars on earth because mainly I liked seeing the two families of Anne really get along. But also I feel it was important for the Plantars to see where Anne came from and for Anne's parents to meet them so that they could really understand just how their daughter changed for the better but how important Amphibia is to her. I don't think they would have let her go with so much trust and understanding without those moments, without them becoming closer and becoming essentially one big family. Anne worried about it more but that's because she's the only one who knows how to use her resources and she couldn't exactly go to the government cause while Amphibia was put off by the humans they weren't so put off to start experimentation.

  • @exileforever2508
    @exileforever2508 Před 2 lety +1

    While I do agree it’s odd that the Plantar aren’t as worried as Anne is to getting back to Amphibia, they still handle it better than Steven Universe
    I mean, how often does the Earth is getting close to being expose to the Diamond Authority. About 6 times I believe. With Amphibia only having to deal with it once. And unlike those examples, Anne is very worried to getting back to save Amphibia and her friends. Plantars we’re taking it easy, but when it comes to the cookies episodes, it shown they miss their home and wants to go back

    Now that's a great conclusion to the Amphibia 10 Words or Less series. For me, while I thought it would be easier for you to do the Top and Bottom 3 Episodes than for Season 2, it's nice that you didn't (and if you did, all of them were Sprig episodes (Thai Fued, Spider Sprig, and Sprivy, if I'm not mistaken)). For me, I personally didn't hate or strongly dislike any episodes, yet I was a bit disturbed about having the resistance team up with mind-controlled creatures, and I also didn't want to be reminded of Children of the Spore. As for the best, well, I don't got much to say that you didn't already address. Looking forward to your Owl House Season 2 review!

    In the end, the crew of _Amphibia_ wrapped everything up in a nice bow -- except one thing. Who practically shoved the book containing the passage about the music box into Marcy's hands, touching off the series? I have a theory.
    It was the Guardian Spirit. It saw the potential for everything that happened. It longs for a rest from its duties as the protector of the multiverse. Everything that happened after the girls were transported to Amphibia was a test to find out who could be worthy of taking the Guardian's place. Anne passed, and the Spirit literally offered her the role of any lifetime. While Anne declined the Guardian's offer, she left the door open for the future.
    _Amphibia_ and _The Owl House_ are paired together so often it seems you have to compare them. This may change with _TOH's_ shortened third season in the future, but _Amphibia's_ got my nod as the better of the two shows. After the finale, how can I not say this?

  • @icepug6311
    @icepug6311 Před 2 lety +1

    31:58 I knew that sounded familiar
    I want a movie called "Return to Amphibia" or a season 4 with sprig and ivy exploring as the two main characters, and like the sasha arks in seasons 1, 2, and 3, they would have an earth ark showing what Anne, sasha, and marcy were doing, and maybe the finale would be sprig and ivy finding a new calamity box and sprig returning, while ivy is going for the first time, and the box has a note from the stone diety with this "take this box to Anne so she can visit. P.S. the stones are infinite," and at the end it would have this o.0 (obviously) they would return to earth and suprise Anne.
