I remember when the hose first appeared in view in Jack cell thinking it was going to be filled with some kind of poison gas, but in hindsight, that would have made no sense since they just established there is no conventional means they have to kill him. The idea to bury him alive so he’s not a problem anymore, especially the shock when you realise that’s what’s happening, made much more sense and made for an even more thrilling and terrifying scene.
Loving your dedication to premiere these reviews the same way as the series aired back in the day. I remember watching it live and it was gripping throughout the whole week. Everybody was watching, even those who didn't like Doctor Who or Torchwood. It was TV event that week, similar levels to the live airing of Stolen Earth/Journeys End
Same! Looking forward to tomorrow's already!
I hope you cover Miracle Day. I know alot of people don't like that series but honestly I really enjoyed it, but I can understand why some don't find it as enjoyable.
“Gave the kid an XBOX 360 controller that wasn’t even turned on.” This is the nitpicking I’m here for ❤
2:46 lmao the rolling r’s on when he says rhys like he’s doing a welsh accent
Yeah, like I said yesterday, the families only being introduced in COE really hurts the story because the emotional connection that the characters have to their families isn’t what the audience has because we just met them, so there’s always going to be this disconnect where we just don’t care about them as much as maybe could have. The actors fill that gap tremendously and do make them compelling enough characters despite their short on screen presence but it’s still an issue.
But again, I don’t see a way around it because they would have had nothing to do for those first two series and would have just been in the background to be there until this moment so… what ya gonna do?
My argument with the concrete thing is that it wasn’t fully dried yet. Concrete takes about 48 hours to dry on pavements etc when it’s just a slab. Jack had only been in the concrete for a few hours, and the room is not only damp and cold but also fairly airtight. It makes sense that the concrete would still be softish.
It would be solid enough but not dried down
This makes me want to actually watch Torchwood!
You should! :D
With this stuff, the question really is "Did it not suck?"
I recall loving this especially the every night for a week approach
Torchwood doesn't use explosive rounds, sure but Gwen shot the petrol tank on the Cement Truck though. 🤔
Do you plan on also reviewing miracle day?
Funny that I do not remember this season. Must rewatch when I have time.
It is absolute peak!
Miracle Day next 😂
