This looks like a fun weekend project for a bricklayer with 30 years experience.
Haha..... So true.... 😅
Maybe its not for the first timer, start with a simple wall or brick pillow
Anyone can do this with patience and some tools, From a confidence standpoint I hear ya!
Now that's comedy 🤣
😂😂😂
Eventually this is the one that I will build,no one has explained the construction of the pizza oven with such a precision and love for what you’re building than this guy and I have seen dozens. Thank you very much 👍
Wow, thank you! And good luck with yours
Please be careful using OSB and other glued wood for the arch, if you don't manually remove it.
When you burn it like in the video your oven will forever have chemicals left in it from the burned glue.
LOL!!! After all that beautiful work he cooks what looks like a frozen pizza on a metal pan!! Somebody teach him how to make proper pizza please! It would be amazing!
That'll be our next video
Ha ha cheers, I know I'm a builder remember not a chef
Took 3 months but enjoyed the struggle...Can't wait to use it as I grew up in my Dad's pizza shop.
Oh wow amazing! Put some videos up so we can have a look at your craftsmanship and pizza!!
@@MrandMrsDIY updated photo
Cant wait to see it
The way you turn and apply the mortar is nothing short of art. It even has a rhythmic musical quality to it. So satisfying to hear much less see
🎶 We will rock you - Queen. Try unhearing it now

@@SilverlineToolsTV hi guys.what company did you get the gather from please.
Flu direct has one but it’s 200 mm from next down to mesh.yours looks smaller to accommodate brick height.
Many thanks
I have been watching video after video on wood-fired-pizza ovens. It it very apparent this man is a pro. What a joy to watch a talented brick layer apply his knowledge and skills to create a pizza oven. Boy, how I wish he lived closer to Nova Scotia. I would hire him in a heartbeat to build our outdoor oven.
Thank you sir for sharing your skills with us.
Wow, thanks! Craig certainly knows his stuff
Many thanks Gary
A genuine professional builder with supreme skill and experience.
Do you think you'll give this build a go?
No, this is one hard act to follow. If I were to build one, it would be very simple using Adobe style.@@SilverlineToolsTV
It can be a little intimidating, we also have a simpler brick BBQ build that might be a good place to start and then work up to the pizza oven.
Craig Phillips is an excellent teacher!
He knows what he's talking about! You going to give this build a go?
Many thanks Alex
Honestly getting Craig involved was a fantastic marketing decision, it's actually good content as well as good advertising
Cheers Tom
Many thanks Tom
He knows his stuff.
Cheers Cliff
Thank you.
It's the best brick pizza oven tutorial in the CZcams.
WOW! high praise indeed
Many thanks for your kind words
If the world will be destroyed somehow and everything will be crumbled to earth, the pizza oven will survive and the future civilization will think, that the Italian ruled the world .. again !! You are a perfectionist freak my friend !!
Ha ha Thanks,
Looks amazing. One thing though is it’s best to have fire bricks placed diagonally relative to the door because it stops the pizza peel catching on the edges of the bricks.
Great tip! Thanks
Thanks, It should affect it which way they go
This is addictive viewing. You make it look easy I am sure it isn't. I wish I had this skill
Thanks! Why not start with something smaller? Like our brick BBQ build and work up to something like this.
Thanks, Its certainly not an easy build, we often advise people to start off small like building a garden wall first, then maybe some brick pillars
I will watch full When i got a time, from the starting this is what i want to learn from it with lecture and step by step. If you continue all video like this you will become a billinior and known over the world.
We've got plenty more videos like this, check them out!
Thanks
I remember watching big brother final when I was a kid. And this guy gives his winnings to help someone. This guys a legend.
Right you are!
Cheers Lester
Thanks Lester my friend
Great video. I will recommend this to anyone who want to build an oven.
Please do!
Many thanks
Thank you
Can’t wait for my first house! I’ll be building one of these bad boys!!
Go for it
i have yet to ever watch a master who did not make it look so easy
Experience is everything
Cheers
This man is a pretty good apprentice mason, with 5 years of practice he might be able to lay 1000 bricks a day.
More water and less sand will make the mud more plyable and sticky. It should be creamy but not foamy.
For the work your doing: 13 gallons of sand, 94lbs type 2, 35lbs type N, and plus or minus 7 gallons of water.
This produces a mix approximating type M mortars. Type M is recommended for below grade and structural work.
This will be the perfect mix for building your pizza oven. If doing veneer work I would swap the Type N and Type 2. 70lbs Type N and 45lbs of Type 2. The volume remains the same. The first mix limits hydraulic action. The second variation allows hydraulic action to take place.
Roman mortars were 1 part Sand to 1 part Hydrated Lime.
Cheers
I take my hat off for you sir. Decent work was done.
Thanks! You going to give it a go?
Cheers
This guy is great! He covers every detail big and small. Excellent master at his craft and instructor
We agree!
I also make a one on the wheels and I use a insulation and a
DIY venturi burners. It can reach up to 1200F cook some amazing pizza in it.
Sound great! Nice addition
Very nice! The brick craftsmanship, superb!
Thanks. The Pizza's aren't bad either 🍕
Excellent coaching. Very precise and clear. I may yet consider myself a brick layer having never laid one brick before. However, thanks to to your wonderful guidance that may change.
Go for it!
Thanks Sac, yes please go for it, you'll get loads of use from it
Cheers, Good luck
You sir are good. I love to watch a professional tradesmen do what he does best. Even though this oven was way over my head to build, I watched the whole video. Thank you for taking the time to make this video.
Thanks Tom, Its great to knew you enjoy our videos, take care, Craig
😅
😮😮
Cheers tom
hardly a professional brick layer. this guy would be fired on the first day taking that much time to lay 3 bricks. LOL
Man lost count of how many times I’ve watched this video…just love it! 😊
Wow, thanks!
Cheers glad you liked it
I quite enjoyed the beat he made while getting the mortar ready.
Queen - We will rock you 🎵
Cheers, a little like a Queen song! Any guess's
I watch this video from start to finished. I like the way you build it.
Thank you.
Cheers
You can also use a big nail or a bent smooth rod to do the pointing. Steel with heat expands, i would not put mortar on the steel and give it a bit of space to expand. The chicken wire dose not take any wight, i wold not put it on. The chimney top could have been done with bricks, one layer with a gap in the middle , next layer with gap opposite the first, last layer complete with over gang, a grove cut underneath the edge to make the water fall off. Good work :)
Cheers
Brilliant. Good to see you using your craft. 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾🇯🇲🇬🇧🙏🏾💚
Thank you!
Thanks
Me watching this video as someone who has absolutely zero experience in any of this. Want to try it 😮😮
You could start with something smaller? like our Brick BBQ build and work up to something like this.
But if you do give it a go let us know how you get on.
Go for it,
Sweet Jesus! Craig is still going?? What a legend, almost teared up remembering BB series 1!
Thanks bro
That’s the kiddy!
Yes yes yes BB
A professional job is noticeable. Thanks for sharing sir.
You are welcome
Your welcome
Loved watching this but would love to see Craig doing a Pompeii Tuscan Dome brick oven rather than this barrel vault brick oven which by design is a bit more suited to baking breads than pizza and less fuel efficient than a Pompeii. Looks truly amazing though !!!
That would be cool! Maybe for the next build
Cheers, Ive never tried that
Shows the skill of an apprenticed trained master brickie
Cheers Kevin
What a great teacher 👍
We agree!
Thank you very much
Excellent work. What distinguishes this video is your speaking and the effects that give comfort .bravo
Well thank you.
Cheers Tee
This is my conclusion:
You are professional !!!
😂😂 Thank you very much, hope you liked the video!
I started watching youtube some hours ago searching for how to make a pizza dough. Didnt expect to end up watching how to make a pizza oven.
Was thinking of building my own brick pizza oven...until I watched this video. I'm gonna hire someone who knows what he's doing. Excellent video. Saved me from a huge DIY mistake.

Amazing! Glad you enjoyed it. You planning to make your own Pizza Oven?
It's not a firewood oven, it's a piece of art. Super impressive.
Almost to the day, it has been 21 years since I first saw this guy on Big Brother, what a legend
sounds gay bro
Thanks Stuart and your right, 21 years! Time flys

Such a comprehensive, high quality video. I'm impressed. The rest of your videos also seem to touch on my various interests. Following your channel is an absolute no brainer!
Yeah give us a follow for more top tips and builds!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Many thank Kalos
You are a true craftsman!

Thanks my friend
Your work is truly professional and inspiring. Other tutorials for outdoor ovens are crude, sloppy and amateurish. Never do I see them use a level and the face of the bricks is left messy. Thank you for explaining each step.
Thank you, your very welcome Donna
@@MrandMrsDIY would it be possible to get both type bricks dimensions please🙏🏼🙏🏼

Absolutely amazing projects. Perfect for making oven pizza, bread and so much more and shows beautifully I love it! so much hard work and dedication Thanks for sharing ! Have a great day!

You make it look easy. I'd never get these even, one side would slowly get higher than the other. I'd be good at making a Dr. Suess crooked brick oven, that I could do..........Well Done, I can always dream...........
Over 20 years of experience on show, if you wanted to give it a go start with something smaller, like our brick BBQ and build up to the pizza oven 🧱

Wowser he’s done a proper job here 😂 well done, thoroughly enjoyed it
Thanks Orrgazmo

Your mud consistency is about what you would want for laying block, it's a little bit too dry for brick, but it's a great consistency for striking the joints.
I like your energy and your explanations. love and respect from philippines
Many thanks Bryan
Looks like a good summer project for me. Thanks for the intel!
Looks fun indeed but man he didn't even cook the pizza on the bricks, he also barely give it any browning

This doesn’t look like a DIY project. This is best left to the pros in my opinion
You think he’s a professional 😂 he may be talented at someone but brick is not one of them
Brick work isn't as hard as you may think, of course if you're a beginner start off with a small section of brickwork and build up to bigger projects when you become more confident.
@@elliottdebell7783 Feel free to produce your own tutorial videos to help other, we'd love to see them
right, this is for a pizza restaurant when making 300 pizzas every day. Of course the temperature of the stove is the most important thing. Everything below 900 Fahrenheit is not a pizza stove.
Thanks
