- DIY Pizza oven build, is the newest addition to my, Ultimate outdoor living space series. I built this pizza oven using and modifying plans from brickwoodovens.com. They carry several do it yourself ovens kits and plans, so go check them out if you are thinking about building an oven. The satisfaction of cooking your own wood fired pizza makes every bite that much better! So come along with me as I show you my version of this awesome pizza cooking machine!
Our definitions of DIY are very different. I thought to myself, “I could do this,” until you started to forge your own metal. Impressive and beautiful work. Hats off!

I started to watch the video thinking the project was within my skill range. That delusion disappeared quickly, and I just watched the rest all the way to completion because I wanted to see the first pizza come out of the oven. I hope family members appreciate all the hard work and advanced skills, not to mention dedication, that it took to build this work of art, down to the wire tree decoration and the hand made door handle. Kudos.
Thank You Lorenzo.. It was a lot of hard work but it payed off in the end and my family is very appreciative 😁. I say give it a shot. The diy company I bought my foam core from has really good instructions, and the oven can be built with far less tools than I use ;)

I've come to realize that 90% of awesome DIY youtubers are all rich. They all have a proper workshop, and each have over $30k worth of equipment, not to mention cost of materials in order to make these high quality, satisfying projects. None of this is possible for your average viewer, regardless of their ambitions and dreams. It's all fantasy.
Well Austin… I beg to disagree. I believe that for those that have a true desire to create, find a way to do it. I didn’t always have a shop with all these tools. Most of what I have I’ve been collecting since I was 16. I learned a lot of what I know from working along side of those that had and knew more than myself, often getting payed very little. I wasn’t in it for the money, I was in it for the knowledge, and after years of hard work it’s starting to pay off. I think if you want an oven like the one I built you should give it a shot, it can be done with far less tools than I used. Check out this diy oven site and you will see it’s truly possible 🤙

The product served its purpose well and provided excellent fires throughout the evening. We were able to open the door and do s'mores, but I had to be careful because the handle was a bit hot on occasions. Additionally, I wish they had replaced some of the standard nuts with lock nuts in some places. We lost the door handle after just a couple of days of usage. Not a deal breaker, just a recommendation. I still give it 5 stars.
When I clicked on this link I thought, "This is the one I want to build for myself!" I don't even know how to use a hammer, so nevermind. This man is a genius--he welded, whittled wood, sanded concrete, laid bricks, amazing!

Started off looking at exercise ball pizza ovens and now I need to buy a house with bigger yard to be able to build this. So I've got that going for me.

As a fellow CZcamsr, I have to say your camera and editing skills are remarkable. You kept viewer interest, at a pace that when 21 minutes were over I still wanted more! I’m a decades old BBQ’er, and have my sights set on a DIY pizza oven as a near future project. I have to say, this is the nicest pizza oven I have seen built on CZcams. Your attention to detail is unbelievable. I was absolutely mesmerised through out the video. Not sure if I have the patience or the talent to build anything remotely similar to your pizza oven but you have given me a lot of confidence to make a start. DIY? I saw that amazing oven and thought I could do that! 6-7 min into the video I was looking up how to weld and use a lathe. Yea, way out of my skill set. Bravo on a true piece of art.

So I just watched this masterwork, I noticed that you have some cool masonry related tools, You must work in that industry...... then I saw that you have some cool metalworking tools, maybe this guy is some kind of a handyman or he builds homes or smthing like that... then I saw Your skill on the lathe, I lost it... this guy is a genius.... and the video quality omg! This build was crazy cool, I love the twisted tree as the final design for the door, im sure this took a lot of time and dedication. Very well constructed, it's a shame that people don't subscribe to these channels. I dont think they realize how much time these take, but you've really got to appreciate these sorts of things.

@@ShalohaCreations hey not a problem. I do projects like this too, it can be a painstaking task. I appreciate these sorts of things, mainly because I know how horrid these projects can be sometimes. It is usually very fun, but its a killer on the body and you really feel the aftermath of it later.
This channel deserves more subs. The camera work, editing, music choice, etc. it's a lot better than many bigger channels. Keep up the great work.

He did it very well, but, the offset (herringbone) pattern, is used so the peel slides across the joints when placing, turning and removing pizzas.
Really well done. This vid was recommended to me after watching 20-30 pizza oven builds. Like how you molded the base to have it flush. A lot of details added that I hadn't thought about. Unfortunately for me I don't have the tools nor the talent as you do.

I know it's dumb to comment on a 2 year old video, but I saw this one and just had to say it. You can't reasonably call this a DIY video. This build is full of professional tools and machines. I felt strongly enough about this to do a little math, and I hate math. Using the lowest price for new tools I came up with: Circular saw 40, drill 40, angle grinder 40, cement mixer 400, tile saw 100, table saw 150, jointer 300, concrete vibrator 120, tractor 17000, plasma cutter 300, welder 450, lathe 350. So for the low price of $19290.00, plus everything used off camera, plus materials, plus all the hand tools, this pizza oven could be yours! That being said, it's a beautiful pizza oven and a joy to watch you work.
Yes ..I went heavy on the tools but this could be done with far less. It’s really a tuff thing to try and get the CZcams algorithm to work in your favor so unfortunately the DIY was more of a tool to get the video to be picked up. Nicely executed. I used the same foam template to build my oven. I added a lower vault in front where I placed the chimney to help contain the heat better. Having the chimney at the top of the vault without a lower door way allows a majority of the heat to escape out the chimney instead of heating the dome.

I was planning on building a pizza oven but after watching this, forget it! Must be nice to have all those freaking awesome tools as well as the skills to use them. Great job for sure. There is a pizza oven place near me where I can buy one for $3k and have it sat on my base. I'm going to go that route most likely lol.

Really good-looking build! There are a couple design things I would do differently but for an at home get a quick pizza out type thing, it would be pretty nice to have. The next part of this comment is for the people who put a lot of passion into pizza making and want to know what to look for when getting a wood fire pizza oven. Exposed coals are a no, but exposed fire is a yes, there is a difference. Ideally you want a chamber at the back for the wood that allows you to add smaller pieces during the cooking process in order to get the flames around the top. Keep in mind the flame is to add a smokey touch/ little amounts of heat in comparison to the lowered chamber which focuses on the base of the pizza where 90% of your heat should be in the first place. This is why you see most wood fire stoves have just a roaring fire coming from inside but when you look in it looks like just a basic sheet of heat resistant material. Having coals next to the pizza creates overactive yeast which forms bubbles and unnecessary charring. Not taking away from this incredible build, the attention to detail was amazing and your work is just as incredible. Just some random pizza talk for those of you who are looking at these because you want to start getting into the process.
At some point people arent making stuff anymore, they are simply showing off.

The original plans have the entire top made in 3 sections and then has full sized fire brick covering the entire surface...I like a more contemporary look so did it in concrete being careful to have a fire and heat safe surface for the pizza oven floor...

This video and the craftmanship exposed is just phenomenal. I absolutely love and adore it and it inspires me to build myself an oven when I have a yard to build one in. I would suggest one thing, and it's from a physical perspective: practice proper deadlifting technique my man or squat lower when trying to lift concrete slabs. I want you to keep your back health until old age. :)

Thanks Michael 🙏🤙. Only pizza oven I’ve ever used other than an Onni, is the one I’ve built. So can’t be of much help with your decision. I wavered between the two as well and ultimately went with the one I built because my wife bought me the foam core for my B-day ;) Once you get the heating dialed in, it works great and makes pizzas quickly 👍

Absolutely amazing job totally loved it wish I could do that but the amount of tools i need, it would take me quite a while Just save up to buy them all. Loved your workshop totally amazing a little nervous about you lifting the concrete slab in flip-flops though.

Started watching, thought, "another guy slapping bricks and mortar together". Was I wrong! Superb build, a piece of art. My only criticism is that you didn't create any custom blown glass 🙂.
Hahah.. I’ll have to blow some glass for my next project … but I will have to start out with raw Cilicia and make the glass from scratch.. 😜😂

Haha.. I have always wanted to have a shop since I can remember. When we bought our home it had a pole barn on it and over the last 10 years I’ve been blessed enough to gradually turn it into a shop. Definitely a dream come true for me ;)

Now, this is one of my favourite videos. I keep coming back to this. Incredible craftsmanship. I just have one question if I may ask - You we’re oiling the stone ? What type of oil is it ? Is it to protect the stone color from fading away ? Looking forward to your response :-)
Thanks Babu Kilari 🙏.. The finish I put on the concrete was just a concrete sealer. It fills the pores of the concrete and helps prevent staining and water absorption. 🤙
