  • In this video, we take a look at speed comping a digital matte painting/set extenstion right inside of DaVinci Resolve's Fusion tab. We'll track the shot, simulate Repe-Tile from After Effects, comp the shot with clean edges, and add some birds to give life to the shot!

I just found out the other day that if you go to Workspace > Layout Presets > Fusion Presets there are some options to make it so your nodes panel is tall instead of wide, or to make it so the nodes are on a second screen instead of in the narrow space below your normal viewer

Awesome! Been looking for a video like this.
Doesn't Fusion have inbuilt cache and full frame preview?
Fusion seems to be more demanding for computer performance than After Effects, isn't it?

Stand-alone Fusion handles the caching much better than the Fusion in Resolve. I would say that stand-alone is on par with AE as far as caching performance. The good news is that if you have a Resolve license, you can get Fusion stand-alone. The downside to stand-alone is that you have to export plates, but you have to do that anyway if you’re going to Nuke.

20 minutes and 10+ nodes and edits is not quick! Why you called this video Quick?
