Azeri people used to speak One Iranian language called Pahlavi till 700 years ago, Turks migrated to Iran with mongols and made that part speaking Turkish. Genetically Azeris are Iranians but speak Turkish … part of Azeribaijan was taken by soviet union which today is north azerbaijan, east and west azerbaijan are still part of Iran.

@@turkoguzlu8578 Pahlavi dynasty only made other countries especially the western ones, officially recognise the country as Iran instead of Persia
The name Iran wasn't forgotten before and after the Safavids
An Ottoman called Ibrahim Muteferrika drew a map of the Safavid empire and in the map, he used the name Iran for the Safavid country
Before that, Nizami Ganjavi (who according to the sources, was from a Persian father from Qom and a Kurdish mother), says in one of his poems :
همه عالم تنست و ایران دل
      نیست گوینده زین قیاس خجل
      چونکه ایران دل زمین باشد
دل ز تن به بود یقین باشد
      زان ولایت که سروران دارند
      بهترین جای بهتران دارند
İran bir ürəkdir, bu aləm bədən
      Olmaz xəcalətli belə söz deyən
      Çünki ürəyidir bu yerin İran
      Ürək yaxşı olar bədəndən, inan
      Şahlar diyarından xoşdur o diyar
      Ki, orda toplanıb yaxşı adamlar
And when Shirvanshah/Shervanshah tells him to write Layla/Layli and Majnun in Turkish he said :
      ترکی صفت وفای مانیست
      ترکانه سخن سزای ما نیست
      آن کز نسب بلند زاید
      او را سخن بلند باید
      Türk xasiyyəti bizim əhdimiz deyil
      türklər kimi danışmağ bizə yaraşmaz
      Yüksək nəsildən doğulan
      yüksək səslə danışmalıdır
This is the same poet who you guys claim he was a Turk despite him never have written any Turkish poem and even seeing being called Turk and writing Turkish, beneath him (no offense)
Before him, Ferdowsi used the name Iran in his Shahnameh many times and even Shah Tahmasp wrote his own Persian Shahnameh
The Safavids established control over parts of Greater Iran and reasserted the Iranian identity of the region, thus becoming the first native dynasty since the Sasanian Empire to establish a national state officially known as Iran
Whenever the name Iran was used for the country, the west called it Persia
Safavids, Afsharids and Qajars empires were called Persia by European countries such as Germany (in a map drawn by Germans in 1650), France (in an old French newspaper, it was written Le Shah de Perse en France) and Hungary (it was called Imperii Persici in their maps)
The word, Iran, is even on Afsharid and Qajar coins
On the Afsharid coin it say :
سکه بر زر کرد نام سلطنت را در جهان
نادر ایران زمین خسرو گیتی ستان
Best translation i can give you is : On the coin he turned the name of the empire to gold in the world
Nader of Iranzamin (land of Iran), the Khosrow conqueror of the world
You can also see the name of Iran or Shahanshah of Iran on Qajar coins of Muzaffar Al Din Shah and Ahmed Shah
According to the official announcement of the General Directorate of State Archives of Turkey [Ottoman Department], during the reign of Nader Shah, a total of 22 letters were sent from the Iranian court to the Ottoman court, including 20 letters in Persian, 1 letter in Arabic, and 1 letter in Ottoman Turkish
Nader Shah's only letter in Turkish-Ottoman language contains interesting points, including bringing up the topic of the Caucasus; Nadershah mentions in a part of this letter that : "In the bad situation of Iran, the Caucasus had fallen into the hands of the Russians and I took it back because it was part of the old land of Iran"
