It always seems like when you try to go fishing and enjoy yourself something goes wrong. When an air injector went out in our boat we decided to take the time to fix her up and give her a good spruce up. In this episode we replace a bad air injector and perform a 300 hour service... only to find out there's more issues...

Not a bad idea to have the rest "11" injectors properly service while you're there. I would have.

Have you done an air pressure test yet using the air schrader valve that’s on the port fuel rail? You just replaced the two oil return catch filters so if it is the compressor, maybe you got lucky and don’t have shrapnel running into the injectors or cylinders yet. Crossing my fingers for you. 🤞🙏

Did you have to disconnect the whole fuel rails or just pull out enough to slip the air injectors out?

I had a 2010 Mercury optimal 200 hp that ran rough on two different occasions. Turned out to be broken reeds. For the life of me I could never figure out how those reeds were breaking. Luckily for me none of the pieces got in the wrong place to destroy the engine. Just curious. I know you didn’t show all the details of your maintenance but whenever I installed plugs I had to remove the lower cowling in order to get the bottom two plugs in.

You showed one spark plug that was black do you remember if that was the plug that came from the same cylinder with the bad air injector.

Where did you find the injector? Everywhere I look they are on backorder.
