Having a rough idle scenario from boat sitting for 6+ years. Rebuild/cleaned everything from tank to injectors. It got better but not correct right yet. Next ill be digging into air injection and spark. Couldn’t see much of how you cleaned the injectors but i am sure ill get it. Seems like the camera was at your back while cleaning making it hard to see☹️ when you do another one can you try rig something up to see first hand how and what your doing? Thanks!
Yes, I've been working on that. Those are a two part injector. Do the best you can with them. If its been sitting that long check your VST. If any fuel was sitting in it clean it out real good. One thing you can do is put some power tune in the VST with some non ethanol gas and fire it up. That. will help clean all that carbon build up on the injectors.
Make sure your carbs are open all the way at WOT. So, with the engine off put the engine in all the way forward gear and look inside the carbs and see if they are all the way open. If they are check for any sort of vacuum leak by spraying some carb cleaner around the carb. Make sure all of your fuel line fittings are tight. If you haven't rebuilt the fuel pump in awhile I would do that. Best of luck.
Is there a specific trick or technique for removing the air injector from the rail? The smaller, flatter, blue injector (I assume the fuel injector) removed very easily. Are the air injectors the same sort of just a friction fit?
You will remove the fuel rail. I believe I have video on it. Pry the air injector gently out of the cylinder. The fuel injectors remove the allen head bolts and gently pry them out as well. Change the screens and oil rings.

I use Lucas fuel injector cleaner you can use the stuff for gas or desiel engines. They also have a marine grade but the stuff you can buy at the auto parts place is just as good. Just take it slow prying them out and mark each one according to what cylinder it came out of. Its a two piece injector air and fuel.@@markcarpenter7682
I have been a mechanic for 55 years and I don't have a crystal ball or a magic wand! Where did he get his crystal ball to tell him to bypass everything else and go to the injectors? I'm not saying that's not his issue but how did he "just know" that to be the problem?
I have no idea what my injector cleaner puts out. I have not heard this. I think its probably fine as long as you don't go over 14 volts. A 9 volt battery does work but I finally bought an injector cleaner.
I need the machine that cleans these injectors. I have another injector cleaner but it does the ones that are in the efi motors but not the optimax ones. I don't know where to buy it.
@hawkeyemarine In case they are really bad, how can I find replacements for them if they have no part number? I will be pulling them out this week. He's got a stalling problem. Resistance tests all good.

Hi I enjoy watching your videos I have a 1986 merc 115 in-line 6 runs great at idle sputtered when throttle up and a load on engine have any ideas?

No I bought a tester cleaner for the shop. I'll tell you its usually just the screens are just dirty.
