I Am Killing My YouTube Channel (and this is why)

- I have to admit, I'm killing my CZcams channel with the editorial decisions I make. By focusing on new, unknown bands in the Stoner/Doom and Heavy Underground, I severely limit its reach.
But we're not changing a thing as far as content. Clean and Sober Stoner exists for the bands, and if even one band sells their music or gains streams as a result of what we do, then it's worth it!

We think that Stoner/Doom is nothing more than the best Hard Rock, Heavy Metal, Progressive Rock, and Heavy Blues available today in what we call the Heavy Underground. What sets Stoner/Doom apart is the lack of commercial hype, auto-tune, generic riffs, and bland production that sounds like a bunch of Vanilla Sausage (Circle of Tone). But make no mistake: Classic Rock, Heavy Metal, and even Prog didn’t die- they just went Underground!
The Clean and Sober Stoner Team
Scott Spiers, MA, LCAS, CCS is the founder and Editor-at-large for Clean and Sober Stoner. He's a Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist and Clinical Supervisor in North Carolina and has made use of music and Music Therapy in his clinical practice for over 18 years. He is also in long-term recovery from alcohol, cannabis, and methamphetamine. Scott claims that "heavy metal and heavy music has had more impact on my addiction recovery than AA, NA, or any therapy I've had over the years."
Jipsy Froud is a reading and writing tutor and marketer in Modesto, California. She is earning a BA in English, Writing For New Media. The first year of her life was when she was exposed to prog rock, metal, blues, psychedelic rock and more while cradled in her dad’s arms. She never got over it. She's also the bass player and a vocalist for the emerging Heavy Metal, Stoner/Doom band Catapult Collision

Mad respect bro, I stopped watching channels like Finn Mckenty years ago because he kept covering the same popular/nostalgic bands and saying the same things about them. Everything in music is a positive feedback loop where the big get bigger and the small get left behind.

Thanks! We have a team now, so it's approach manageable. But bands have about 20 seconds to "wow"

FWIW even Finn doesn’t like doing those videos and he’ll tell you as much. He’s kinda locked himself into a corner since the channel is his job and those videos are the ones that pay.
