Hey man, thanks for the video. You probably addressed this already. Can you just drag and drop backed up files straight to the SD card? My switch isn't modded. i followed the directions to format the SD. I put it into the switch and blue lights flashed for a short time and turned red. I inserted SD into computer and now there's an NXINDEX file. along with the S2, file which I will delete. From here do I just drag and drop folders of my back ups each game in its own folder along with all the needed files? Or do I need to build some directory's? Thank you and subbed
Thanks for the sub. Yea after the update on the chip remove s2 and just drag the backs ups . You can create a root directory for your game backups . Just to separate them. So folders example sd:/smashbros/(smash backups)
Contra/(contra backups)
Cuphead/(cup head backups)
Do i have to have a modded switch or can i just transfer installed games from the switchs’ memory onto the sd card via the system (usual data transfer on switch) and then use the mig switch dumper to connect the cardridge to my Pc to get all the necessary files to run the games on an emulator? Thanks!
The mig dumper is only for physical cartridges. You cannot get the info off a switches memory. You have to either use a modded switch to dump the cartridges data or use the dumper tool to dump the same data.

@@eradicatinglove Thank you. do you have an educative learning video, that shows the exact way in which the dumper does the dump if I use the nintendo homebrewed itself? for information technology and homebrew learning of course.
dont know what i am doing wrong. done same steps as you, i get an error when trying to read the cartridge.
also i wasnt able to update it with any of the update files, tried multiple and the blue light never showed. is there are troubleshooting guide for the update process?
Nope there's no trouble guide . There is and update for 18.0.0 support. It's just extract to sd card and that's its . Are you using mac? Or windows? Mac sometimes doesn't extract well . And in windows win rar doesn't extract good either best to use 7zip
damn is there any other way besides the dumper hardware tool & or the dump program with a modded switch to get certs?
Looks like there is no other way at the moment . There is a clone to the mig switch . Maybe it could be used with out the certifications.

Yea I never got to post it. The idea I was talking about didn't work anymore. So I couldn't post it . Not sure if it was patched in the mig switch . Maybe the clone will do it and if that's the case I'll make a video on that clone . Sorry

Yes that can work . But there's always a risk . It's possible there are logs when you play a game and whoever you connect to internet those logs could possibly be accessed. So yea you can play but your stuck on version 0 and risk of ban

Yes only xci. But you cannot update the game you will get banned . If you can't update then your stuck on v0 forever

Is it possible to dump your eshop games?
No . Because those are .nsp . The mig only works with .xci. only way to get .xci and rest of files is a physical copy . However if you don't care to get banned you can convert nsp to xci and use that . But since you won't have the certificates it will lead to ban
@@eradicatinglove You can't just play offline using XCIs? Usually the "high seas dwellers" that dump the XCIs also regularly dump the update files as well.

if they make game selecting easier it would be better. Hopefully other brands will improve on this.

I can get the XCI from Rom sites easily, I need the certificate. If you can point me in the right direction, that would be most appreciated.

If your banned you don't need this at all. But at the moment I don't think there's any sources for certificate dumps . Also this works with xci you don't need the other files. But only problem is you need the online to update and if your banned you cannot update

@giangluvvynabbey yes thats correct . Keep in mind the mig switch only can accept the base version 0 . You cannot update unless you updated it yourself

@@eradicatinglove Hi So I format the sd to exfat and updated the mig to the most recent firmware. It seems to blink blue, solid blue then no led light.
When I place a single XCI from a rom site, the switch gives me error, cannot read game card. Been researching and it seems a lot of people been getting the same message but no solution.
Do you know what it could be?
I only put XCI no other files.

Waste of money
A waste of money is letting my kids handle the cartridges, going from the switch lite to the OLED and back. That's a sure way to LOSE your games. LoL
