    Brian, for your viewers, when using teflon tape, it's important not to put on too much as this can squeeze outward the plastic mating surface, potentially cracking it and causing more leaks. Usually 2 or 3 wraps should be adequate.

      I totally mentioned that and ended up editing it out because it was too long. Great minds think alike. I will pin this!

    I had exactly this situation. O ring dropped down. Took it apart and put it back together. Amazing.

    An amazing video! The Delta spouts can be very difficult to understand, let alone repair. Exact replacement spout alone can be near $100! This is the first video that I’ve seen that gets inside the works. You do great communication!

    The round tip of the pull tab comes off. If you hold the shaft the tab is connected to with needle nose or small pliers to keep it from rotating, and rotate the tip, it should come right off. Then just remove the gray cap and o-ring and the entire assembly slides right out. Much faster and no risk of damaging the plastic internals. Excellent job and excellent video! 👌

    Great job. Kohler says their spouts don't have serviceable parts so I bought a new one on eBay because my spout was discontinued.

    They need to build a house where all the plumbing & wiring is ran on the outside of the walls. Make it happen & make the power DC. 😎

    There is a small hole underneath of the base of this spout. You seemed not use silicon to seal it. You just applied both sides underneath the spout. I followed your video. Very helpful. I called Delta, they said it is up to me to seal it or not. Seem not a big deal. Do I need to seal that hole or leave it open? Thank you for your answer.

    • @ThatFixItGuy
      @ThatFixItGuy  Před 2 lety +1

      I always leave that hole open. It is a good way to pop the plate up after caulked in place if you ever have to work on something.

    Man this was entertaining. I’ve been trying to find a matte black tub spout that will fit the delta adapter like this, and this is the only one. The reviews online are kinda bad, do you think the water flow is okay? Any drips from the spout when the diverted is up?

      Thank you Britt. I don’t know what caused that in the tub. It seems weird that I would come that way and they would be ok with it.

    i have a similar spout except round with that stupid extra plastic piece inside, except that extra piece snapped. ive found no replacements for it anywhere, i hate that they’re made with this extra nonsense that only complicates things.

    no offense but you making it more difficult that it needs to be. The trick is that the shaft can be separated from the head, it's just screwed on. Hold the shaft with the pliers, unscrew the head and it all becomes easy
