This guild has been around for over 3 years by now on warmane and this was just a fun project we tried, so i dont take those comments too serious ;)
i think the best you can do besides getting familiar with bosses is definitely how to handle trash since thats where you will be spending the most time in a Speedrun. Basically looking what packs can be pulled together, how to best drag mobs into the next pack etc. You can see we did not rly optimize trash in this attempt and there is a lot to gain in that aspect alone
Its done with 0% Raidbuff since that is not available on this particular Warmane Server (Lordaeron), some bosses also have adjusted values due to Warmane advertising it as an "hardcore" server. So some bosses have higher HP and might do more damage than what was happening in original wrath, but i can't confirm any buffs besides the actual HP of the bosses and the reduction of enrage timers. The ICC debuff is called "Chill of the Throne" and reduces 20% of all players dodge chance.
socialize in game or discord? Rly could be anyone, since im a raidlogger i probably wouldnt notice if someone does it ingame. My best gess might be Romar probably but not sure
yes we remove it so no cc gets resisted in case a person gets mind controlled. Since then the chances are high to either get killed by AoE or them killing others
Great run, I really enjoyed the vid! Do you have some specific tips regarding speedrunning ICC? I couldn't really make out special changes comparing to a "regular" run except little improvements like faster pulls (but maybe I'm not looking hard enough 😅). The reason I'm asking is because we are also planning a speedrun on our private server (german btw) in january and I'm currently trying to help with the theorycrafting. We already got some things mapped out, but I'd be really grateful if you could help us by sharing your expertise and experience :) have a good one!
the main reason we didnt pull more trash or trash into bosses is mainly related to how this server is buffed in terms of hp and damage which also applies to most trash mobs in addition to it being 0 buff. The biggest things you can do for a Speedrun is pulling as much trash as you can as efficiently as possible, that can mean dragging one pack into multiple more, having hunter pets run ahead to pull more or even dragging leftovers into bosses. Also things like skipping marrowgar trash like they did on the race in classic or skipping part of the trash before gunship can be possible depending on how your server is coded. Reminder that paladin immunities and mage iceblock can be used to pile up big trash packs before the rest of the raid moves in to kill them. Or optimizing the orbs in the bloodquarter to clear as much trash with it as possible while tanks have a free action potion running and dks using army. I recommend looking into some classic raids that aim to clear quick and see if you can take some inspiration from there. Some things def wont work on private servers as they do there but it can def help to see things in a different light
@@Chriswolty i do have a tracker to show current bleed tick and also rend damage on the bottom right of the screen. Its also a weakaura but i only managed to make it work on warmane
im sure warmane has coded the ability differently + gear trivializing the damage it ends up doing. On the PTR for classic you can max melee range attack the boss during bonestorm without taking the full damage of it. Try it next week when the PTR opens up again if you can, maybe by then Blizzard got the boss working entirely with bonespikes during Bonestorm and all
Any comment that you are just "4min" faster in full ICC Gear then the Classic record of progress with Ulduar/TogC Gear. Would you say the skill difference of live players vs pServer player are that crazy high?
skill/experience difference in speedrunning specifically is immense. No one on pservers is speedrunning so no one spends much thoughts on how to optimize it, i.e. marrowgar trash skip and also trash skip before gunship. Then there is the part where the server this video is from has buffed content, so most enemies in ICC hit a lot harder and also have more hp. So a lot of big trash pulls that you can do on classic would one shot our tanks on that server, so strats would need to be altered just because of that. Not having class buffs like classic got and generally having worse scripting on many classes also cripples the comp a bit. You can see that if you watch Realmfirst videos from Frostmourne, their seasonal server. As for general skill difference from class to class there for sure is still a difference, but many of the high parsing players on classic have a private server background aswell, so i wouldnt generalize but just by sheer numbers classic is bound to have a lot of good players and i think thats good for the game, im playing classic myself and having good competition to push yourself is always enjoyable 👍

Speedrunning itself i dont think was ever rly rooted into the pserver community. if you time it well, without delaying anything and in between swingtimers, you will see around 2% damage increase overall. I think its worth but only if you are comfortable with the class
i think you can start looking in the mid 4000s for Onyxia raids, early 5000 for Trial of the Crusader and then mid to high 5000 you can hope for ICC raids. The groups always asks for way more gear score than actually required since they hope to replace skill with gear so you might have to look for quite a bit. You also should be able to get into Vault of Archeron in the mid 4000s if lucky. Gearing is basically spamming Heroic Dungeons for emblems and tier 9 set, buy some BoE (bind on equip) items on the auction house und then you can get into raids. You can also join the warmane discord for tips, you can easily find it by googling warmane unofficial discord

The addon on the left to track raid CDs is called BLT, i do not believe it exists in classic. In turn there would be Weakauras tracking them in a similar matter. The paladin aura tracker is also a Weakaura and it just shows who is currently covering me with what buff. There are even better ones available which even show when multiple paladins are on the same aura. Both the raid cds and paladin aura tracker should be available for classic on Wago or from different creators like Merfin.

You are a literal hero, I was looking for clean WAs like the Fojji ones (which most people seem to use on classic wotlk), but compatible with WeakAura version 4.0 since I'm also playing on a private server. @@flohundflorian all of those Weakauras i use there are either made by me or a guildmate of mine who specialized in lua coding. I recently uploaded my classic UI to wagio so i will probably also do that soon with my warmane UI since triggers etc can vary a bit between those versions. But the majority of boss timers are just zydras dbm
you can also see how the raid is over 6.5k gs average which definitely trivializes mechanics compared to progging the raid in togc gear. So i think thats a given, even if the server has slight damage or hp buffs to bosses it does not offset the gearing differences whatsoever. So take it with a grain of salt 👍

its a Weakaura i used to check how fiery weapon procs work on warmane with deepwounds. It serves no real purpose outside of that to be honest
