    Couple things I should address about this video as it was the first tutorial I made and some things weren’t 100%. First off is YOU SHOULD NOT BE GOING INTO THE RED on your channel levels. Secondly the bass on your EQ of either track should be TURNED ALL THE WAY DOWN and not a slight amount like shown in the video! I apologise for the errors in this video it was the first tutorial I had made and certain things weren’t addressed! I hope the video still serves some purpose and helps in any way it can but please please take note of those two bits I’ve stated above as they are vital!
    Huge love to you all ❤️

    Nice vid man, but just a tip - use the EQs to blend two songs in together. Also, use the trims to keep them both tracks out of the reds as this will distort the sound quality and may damage your speakers.

      I’m new as well, hella confused

    • @MedicineDNB
      @MedicineDNB  Před 4 lety +2

      My apologies I should have gone more in depth with it. So if you go over to your loop section on your software serato/recordbox you’ll find you have numbers of 2/4/8/16/32 - these are beats- using the loop feature go onto 32 beats and use your loop to line up 32 beats so it the loop begins again just before the track drops. Do this with another track, then when you hit play on both tracks you know you have exactly 32 beats until they both drop and they will stay aligned.
      I hope this helps in some way ✌🏻

    cheers for the guide mate really helped me - any tips on how to keep a mix flowing? of course it's down to creativity but how long should a track be playing in general before switching to the next? And should I have my cue points set on every track and plan exactly how and when I'm going to drop each tune? quite new to all this so any help is appreciated

Thanks once again mate good luck with the DJing - in the meantime will try get the video up as soon as I can 👊🏻✌🏻

    If mixing in 170+ bpm instead of 80 would I be right in thinking you would use 64 beats and not 32

    • @MedicineDNB
      @MedicineDNB  Před 3 lety

      So when your mixing at 87.5 you are still in fact mixing at 175. The software has simply halved the bpm making it easier/faster for you to adjust the bpm as you have to move .5 of a bpm for every 1bpm at 175 if that makes sense (i still am unsure why the software has done this) but 9 times out 10 it’s just halved the bpm of the track to make it easier for you to adjust the bpm as a dnb track at 80 bpm would be slow af. Going back to your original question being no the tracks beats will still work in the same pattern. I hope this has made sense and helped /answers your question 👌🏻 if not /still confused feel free to reach out on one of my socials and we can discuss further there

    • @ashleyrobinson7824
      @ashleyrobinson7824 Před 3 lety

      Apologies I don't really use social media, I understand that there will still be 32 bars of music, what I meant was in terms of the beatgrid and setting cue points if at 174 bpm there would be double the beats on the beat grid, meaning would I need to set the cue points 64 beats back on the beat grid and not 32

      Thank you for your comment. I made this video a year from when I started DJing. I know there are some aspects of this video that aren’t quite right as it was my first time making a tutorial video. it has/still is helping a lot of people find the basics of starting out mixing which is why I’ve kept it up. If you’d like to take some time to watch some of my later tutorials/mix’s you’ll soon see that the things you have mentioned are covered in my future videos and I don’t do in my mix’s. Many thanks
