    Great video... Small suggestion though... Don't use the crossfader for mixing... Keep it in center or thru mode and use the line faders... You have much better control. Crossfader should primarily be used for scratching and quick dropping out...

      @@BeatmatchGuru so when mixing and needing to move up the bpms so the transition to the next song can be better. It doesn’t let me move the bpms up or down unless I increase it or decrease it to its max or lowest point. Don’t know if that makes sense 😂

    Why the use of the cross fader and not the volume faders? Is just your preference or a drum n bass wide transition? .

    • @BeatmatchGuru
      @BeatmatchGuru  Před 3 lety

      Hey John-T_Smith, Yeah it's more of a preference really. I use the channel faders in other genres such as Garage for cutting between tracks. To be honest it's probably just a habitual thing. The choice is yours really.

    How do you know what part of the tune is the verse, chorus etc? I sometimes don’t know where the intro ends or where the outro starts? Or if I’m in the verse part or chorus? Because a lot of Drum and Bass doesn’t have vocals.

    • @BeatmatchGuru
      @BeatmatchGuru  Před 3 lety +2

      Hi there. On the drop from the first beat when the bassline kicks in for the first time (after the initial build up) you can count around 64 beats until the next section. You can name the first section after the drop Chorus and then the next section after 64 beats is the verse. Not all song structures are the same. Using DJ software (Rekordbox or Serato) you can use beat jumping by 32, 64 or 128 beats to help set hot cues and markers to divide up the sections of a song. You can do this in reverse from the drop of the bassline using 32, 64 or 128 beats to help segment the intro into different sections. sometimes you will want to cue in a track from only half the intro to get in a quick mix. Hope that helps? Cheers, Dan (Beatmatch Guru)

    • @djdusted6485
      @djdusted6485 Před 3 lety +1

      You can see a darker patch on the vinyl when the first chorus is. You may get another before the outro or you just time it with your ears and use a main break to kick off the next tune and start your mix.

    • @J._har123
      @J._har123 Před 3 lety

      Thanks for the reply. Does the verse, chorus structure apply to non vocal music?
      Say for example Adam F - Circles. I’m trying to work out the structure of that tune.
