    Great tutorial! Looking at some of the comments below, I understand that some might find it goes too fast (remember I was also like this when I was self-learning). I would say that this tutorial is made for those who already have an idea on what the functions are (intermediate level) and where they are located. Otherwise I would say watch a beginners video for explanation or, slowly follow step by step with each instruction.

    Thank you -- exactly what I was looking for!

    Thanks, Sid. I found this helpful as hatching can be quite tedious at times.

    Are you clicking intersection and then delete to keep the hatching in the shape?

    Can this kind of shading be used for comic strips?

    How does one do this when not a god of accurate mouse operation?
    I just want to cross hatch fill a rectangle. Need svg output for freecad. Never used inkscape. Hatching needs to be 30 deg angle and 0,6mm spacings.
    Can you slow your videos down a bit, and add voice explanation as to what you do. Would take me days of frustration to re-produce what you just did in 4 min. I find your tutorial more of a tease than instructional.
    If you're trolling I'd give you 8/10, if your trying to teach 2/10.

      Ya I will improve myself. Thanks for feedback. And for hatching in ur case, While rotating the line, Press and hold CTRL key (so you can u can rotate the line in steps of 15 degree) and you can achieve 30deg. About spacing, you can use Measurement Tool, but make sure units of your entire drawing are in mm.

    • @MongrelShark
      @MongrelShark Před 6 lety

      Ended up solving it with a pattern fill. Really nice to know about the 15 deg ctrl though, thanks!!
      Measurement tool is something I need. Badly. I only use inkscape for tech drawings, mostly adding stuff that freecad can't, like hatching without borders to confine the fill. Where is the measurement tool found? I see 200 buttons and only know what about 1.75 of them do....

      Its on the left side (see pink ruler icon below Zoom icon) or you can press 'M' button to select it.
