- Just days after winning the FA Cup, Liverpool were due to face Helenio Herrera's Internazionale in their European Cup semi-final.
Inter were at their peak. They were the reigning World and European champions, while they were about to be named Italian champions too, whereas Liverpool had finished seventh in the league and this was their first season in Europe.
With the roar of Anfield behind them, Liverpool played with twelve men at home, however for the away leg it is alleged that Inter had a twelfth man of their own.

Keep going with this channel , i really hope it grows and grows. I wish you the very best.
I watched this final at the age of 11 years. Since then, so much has passed under the bridge of life - you'd never believe it.
top quality stuff mate
Tommy Smith said "after the Inter away leg, when we all walked off the pitch I really whaked the referee's ankel ... he did not respond and hobbled off the pich"
It was said that referee's daughter was ill and needed an operation. Inter covertly gave the referee the money/bribe for it. The referee duly repaid Inter on the pitch! 🤔
brian gladville mentioned that in a interview for lfctv in 2008
Excellent video and analysis.
Me dad went to the Inter game. 14 years old, in the ground by 4pm.
Absolutely fascinating. Good mix of narrative and film.
Can you do the same with the Benfica's 60's team. This channel deserves a lot more subs, great job 👍.
The second goal was a good goal
My main problem with football managers is how tactically naive they were. Again you can't say it was 1965 as the Hungarians had shown the WM up and if you thought about it 4--2-4 cannot be the answer.
bro when you gonna make a video other than the liverpool series
Next one
Liverpool was a good team, but Inter had many top players, was stronger
Yeah possession football. Or just bribe the officials.
Technically better team Inter
