1984 Honda CB450SC sputtering woes continued

Synced the carbs, adjusted the intake and exhaust valves. Engine starts easier and idles very smoothly. No ticking or strange noises from the valves, and yet the stuttering is still present when you start to rev up the engine. Last ditch effort is to add some metht hydrate (methanol) to the gas. It's purported to clear out varnish deposits in the carb's small passages. Fingers crossed.
