This is gold. That was the summer of Gower power. Such an elegant and beautiful player to watch IMO

Watching this, you can see that Botham's best days as a bowler were already behind him. The away swinger is no longer there. Neither is the nip off the wicket.

The two David left handers Gower and Hookes with Gower scoring 158 way back then incredible. Allan Lamb was good to watch remember the 18 runs off 5 balls required. Top upload Cheers.

I was an 11 years old and won tickets to attend. I cried at the end of the game (I'm Australian) but wonderful play from Gould, Marks, Jackman and Hemmings. Great hits from border early on too

Did I hear Tony Grieg say when Kim Hughes went out that was Robin Jackman's 1st BIG BASH wicket. But Big Bash didnt come to australia until after Tony DIED.. 😃

He did say it to my surprise. It must have been a colloquial term for one day cricket at the time. Possibly from World Series cricket or English county cricket.

I'm an Aussie, but visiting sides couldn't buy and an LBW back in the those days.
