The League will like the other way because his dad's Keith, and his Uncle is a GM.

@William ,that too
Players like him are the biggest reason why I miss the old school enforcers. Before the instigator rule stuff like this would rarely happen.
I agree!!!
Same reason people talk shit on the internet, You think twice when the punishment is getting your ass beat for your actions. Old enforcers had a place, and still do....to bad the league has gone all namby pamby for views. Not that they'd have any less if fighting was still prevalent.
He comes by it honestly. Because it was the 90s, his dad's play is romanticized as 'gritty', but if you go back and look Keith was a dirty rat, too.

A deliberate effort to injure someone like this deserves a significant suspension. This isn't an injury he can inflict that might ONLY end Quick's career (which is bad enough), but would also seriously hurt the man's life even after that. If I was Quick, I might even press charges for aggravated assault.
CANNOT be allowed. This is one of the worst infractions I've ever seen.
First-Degree Aggravated Assault - refers to a deliberate act in which the perpetrator used premeditated malice. The perpetrator must have had the intent to cause, or to attempt to cause, serious bodily injury (also “great bodily harm”).
Was it actually deliberate though? Also the goalie is fine

And if the league won't do something, eventually anarchy will do it on the field... I just hope the league would have enough balls to throw hard enough punishment for dick moves like this. It's always not good to see retaliations but it will eventually happen unless someone acts on this.

I remember this play and watching it at 0.25% countless times over the following days, and it was very unfortunate how the contact happened but Tkachuk had ZERO control as he was trying to maintain/regain balance at a high speed on his way in. He's done some dirty shit, but he's not Brad Marchand.
Now Maurice is his coach btw
It's called 'slew foot.' A Slew Foot in hockey is an action where a player comes from behind an opposing player and trips him using his leg, skate or hockey stick, while, oftentimes, using his upper body, or arms, to further knock the opposing player off-balance. The result of a Slew Foot in hockey is usually a two-minute Minor Penalty, but a five-minute Major Penalty can be called, depending on the severity.

Fighting never stops these incidents from happening. Players don't get 'taught a lesson', although you can go looking for revenge (see Todd Bertuzzi and Steve Moore incident). Todd Bertuzzi shouldn't have been able to play in the NHL again.
Look how many fights there were in the 1980s, and yet there were probably more stick incidents then than there are now. Why is that? Doesn't fighting solve those issues?

The better Tkachuk was his dad
Dad must be so embarrassed
“HEY! Don’t call me a rat buddy!” -Terrance or Phillip
This reminded me of Bryan Berard. An eye injury will most certainly end a goalies career.
This is insane. There season going bad as of right now but he shouldn't be taking out it on a goalie of all players!
As an Edmonton fan this is certainly news to me.
Hahaha.
lol
What a comment lmao
as a flames fan (canucks fan first) tkachuk was a rat with us ill agree with that good luck with ur next game oils
Edmonton has fans???😂
It's a total shame that more and more players are sinking to a sub par level and headhunting because they are either outplayed or losing the game. Tristan Jarrey was kneed in the head in one of their first games and the NHL did absolutely nothing. Some of these guys are down right pathetic.
My son was a goalie and the number of times I heard parent from the other team yell take out the goalie was disturbing. I saw players run him numerous times without even trying to stop. I saw players head shooting him to try and get him out. He was speared into the ribs several times. Pucks were shot at him from behind after the whistle that he wasn’t expecting. He ended up with a fractured vertebrae when he was slammed into a post and the puck was nowhere near him. He had the attention of 2 NHL goalie coaches for his talent. Hockey is a very rough sport but intentional damage should not be part of the game.
For just a moment I thought you meant Brady Tkachuk and was confused, because I watched last night's game and don't remember anything egregious from him.
I'm with you completely. This kind of thing needs an example made out of it.
He seems to be the sane one, at least relatively sane.
Brady is the better brother in that sense. Guy got bit multiple times and laughed about it
"LA needs to run their 4th line against him" ooooh I haven't heard hockey like that in a LONG time. It takes me back to ice rinks that were a lot smaller and a lot colder.
I had no clue Eck had this channel until just now! He likes Star Wars and hockey???? What a day to be a fan of them both haha
I like Chucky but this has to be minimum 10 games. That's just dangerous.
Tkachuk is one of the few players in the league I could see intentionally ruining someone’s career just to get a bit of an advantage in a game.
Like I legitimately won’t be surprised if at some point down the line he does actually take a players eye out or something along those lines with cheap shit like this.
"After getting yelled at on Twitter, they reviewed it."
Hmm, not sure how I feel about this ...
I can’t believe that he only got two games for this considering how he’s a repeat offender. Especially since he targeted his eye, he should be fined for that
Can’t wait to see your next power rankings Eck! Being a Vegas fan is so good right now!
At first I thought that it wasn't a deliberate eye jab and just a head poke (still bad) but then when you watch the slow-mo replay you can see Tkachuk purposefully rotate the stick so that the toe goes up and in.
Brendan Lemieux is sharpening his teeth for their next meeting…
When I read that this happened my first thought was "Well if someone were to be on the receiving end of a penalty, I'm not mad about it being Jonathan Quick." And then I watched it. Complete and utter BS, absolutely doesn't belong in the game. As much as I dislike some players, its all in the spirit of sport and competition. No one should have to deal with this.
Things taken for most granted in life:
1. eyes
2. arms
Being able to control when you poop might surpass eyes.
