    How to adjust your 2021 Harley-Davidson Street Bob FXBBS rear brake pedal height.
    This entire process should only take about 5 minutes but I'm making a vid and figuring it out while I'm making the vid and trying to give a few tips that I would have found useful.
    I just came across an issue with my brand new Harley Davidson 2021 Street Bob. I found that the rear brake pedal height from the factory seems to be kind of low that you really need to lean forward in order to activate it.
    It can make a hill start difficult but this can be dangerous when riding as you need to use that rear brake.
    I put together this quick vid how you can quickly adjust it yourself and save that mechanic bill. Just don't over adjust it, you don't want it too easy to get to, and start locking the rear brake either.
    Update: I have gone back and adjusted to give a little more leverage, the rear brake of these is soft, a good thing I do mostly engine braking, the bad thing the people driving behind me in cars won't notice me slowing down. This is why I bought a gyroscopic brake light activator, the bikes should come stock with them, it cost me between 50-70 bucks but will be worth it in the long run. I'll try and get you a wiring vid of that along with how it looks from behind.
    Hope you guys find this vid helpful.

    Hey there! Thank you for this video! I've got a '23 FXBBS and hated the stock height of the brake lever. With your instruction, I was able to get it to the perfect height. Such an easy fix ✌🏼

    Thanks for the great video!!! I just adjusted the rear brake pedal height of my ‘21 FXBB and it was a piece of cake, except for reinstalling that darn wire clip pin thing. OMG it was tricky; mainly bc I have front crash bar on there so my hands arms and head couldn’t really get close enough. Dropped it a few times; once taking 45 minutes to find the dern thing. I got tired of dropping it, so I attached a twisty-tie ; lol. I eventually got in on there somehow with the needlenose. I wonder if a simple, straightforward cotter pin could’ve been used here. 🤔 Anyways, I’m extremely happy with the result and can’t wait to ride. Thanks again for the outstanding video content!!! 🙏🏾

    Very useful video, I replaced the small ring clip with an R clip, it makes it a lot easier to remove/ replace using long nose pliers rather then mess about with the ring clip which can be a pain to remove/ replace.

      at least you got the problem fixed. I went to my dealer to get a wiring diagram and was told they aren't color coded saying what wires go where unless you get an expensive electrical systems manual and I just went there to get advice or see how much they would charge to install a brake light activator for engine braking I purchased. I don't think they want to mess with electric and discouraged me to as well. Uhg... Need a wiring diagram for my 2021 FXBBS

      Why can’t you put the pin in from the other side,, then put the clip in on the side facing you.. just because Harley put the pin in from outside of the bike does t mean it has to be___does it? I don’t know if there is a requirement or not…. But from here it looks no different than putting a pin for a trailer hitch…. Doesn’t matter which side you stick the pin in…

    Congratulations on your first Harley, it's a nice one!
    Just to help out a bit, the large "nut" at the front of the cam compartment you're using as a pedal height reference, is the oil pressure switch.
    On your model the catalyst in the mufflers. There shouldn't be a post cat O2 sensor for your market that you have to worry about, so swap them to your heart's content!

    • @vickaminski
      @vickaminski  Před 3 lety +1

      Thanks for the input, I have already made a few other adjustments and plan on making more. I'll be posting the videos shortly. I replaced the stock mufflers, added a swing arm bag, and a bung king highway bar.
      Next new grips, screaming banshee air horn and a windshield coming up next. Not sure if I'll like the look of the windshiled but it's a mother fighting the wind on the highways at 70 mph.
      I guess it's official, I'm a harley guy. I bought a new bike and wrenching on it already ;-)
      Suprised how many friends I already had that ride too. It's been fun so far!

    I have similar issue. After installing new pipes from Rinehart I needed an extension kit to fit heat shield. All good til you get on it and the breaking pedal is WAY too high. I basically did the opposite (twisted nut in other direction) and the height is okay, I just hope my threshold isn't massively affected. Fingers crossed.

    When you hit 30 mph and you cant hear your motor to know where you are in the power band its an issue. I dont want to have to look down at my tiny tach to know if I'm in a good place to shift.

    • @vickaminski
      @vickaminski  Před rokem

      You must be a newbie, you'll learn to feel it and still can hear it with your particular setup where you are in the powerband and shouldn't ever have to look at the tach .
      It doesn't really make it that loud unless you yank out the metal baffle as well.
      But i think you replied to the wrong post, this one is about brake pedal adjustment.

    • @scottiescott9297
      @scottiescott9297 Před 2 lety

      Yeah, it definitely helps to have better leverage. Remember, as you know, the rear brake is only about 30% of your stopping power. The rear brake has much more utility for your subtle, sensitive control when starting out from 0, for control during slow speed manoeuvres
