  • In this video we'ew gonna replace the power steering pulley on our 2001 Ford Taurus DOHC.
It took two days to complete, due to stopping early the first night to go see the movie
IT 2, with my son and his Fiancee.
I can do this job now, in about an hour, from start to finish.
So, hopefully this video will get you the same time.
Thanks for watching, please SUB and LIKE.

Glad it helped. We got rid of this car several years ago when the motor blew. It was one headache after another. Will never own anything Taurus again.

Thanks a million for taking the time to videotape while doing this. I'm pretty sure I will be doing this as soon as I have 2 days in row off!

      Hope it worked for you.
Since replacing this part, the *Power Steering Pressure Switch* has been leaking, and I've replaced it two times, to no avail. Still leaks.

Thanks, about to do this on a Taurus.
BTW, Ford calls for using Mercon ATF in the power steering, not power steering fluid (now Mercon V per Ford Service Bulletin TSB07-1-7 since you're not likely to find Mercon much anymore)

Have any issues with the high side hose leaking? Ours is leaking where the pipe goes through the large nut that holds it to the pump. Got the nut tight as can be, still leaks. I guess the pipe is bad some how.

CZcams channel "DoingItCheap" replaced his alternator on a DOHC Taurus and pulled his belt using a shop rag. It didn't look hard to do and finding that belt tensioner pulley can be a job, by it self.

You need the plastic gasket/washer for high pressure line.

That thing sucks. I used red silicone sealant on my car and havent had an issue since.

What would.a garage charge me if they had to fix hose on power steering

What's the average price to fix old hose on power steering fluid in 2001 power steering hose that has fluid leaking

      @@CharlesCarey77 I am not certain.
I am having nothing but issues with the Power Steering since replacing this part.
Not from this part, but from the *Power Steering Pressure Switch.*
That blasted thing leaks like heck, and replacing it, does not stop the leaks either.
Go by a garage, have them take a loot at it, and see what kind of deal they can give you.
