    How do I lock the loops on the arranger screen to a beat or quantize it. The loops move freely on the arranger screen even though I have it in the settings to snap to grid? Any help would be appreciated

    • @aysymphony
      @aysymphony  Před rokem

      Hmmm... I'm not sure I understand the question correctly, but I will do my best.
      It sounds like your drum or MIDI regions aren't syncing to the grid when you try to loop them. Even though you have snap to grid turned on, they seem to move freely.
      I've turned on snap to grid and I'm testing it out myself. Here's what I see:
      1. When I click, hold, or loop a drum or MIDI region, it seems to move freely, but when I let it go, it moves and locks into a different spot.
      2. The problem is, it's not lining up with a barline or beat line, it's actually locking into place between the beats!
      I think this might be the problem you're having.
      Technically, the grid isn't just the bars (labeled 1, 2, 3, and 4) or just the beats (the vertical lines between the bar numbers). The rhythmic grid also involves subdivisions, or fractions of the beat! Beats can be divided in half, in three, and even in four!
      It seems like when snap to grid is turned on, the regions can snap to bars, beats, or half-beats. In music terminology, we call these half-beats "eighth-notes." While it's technically not wrong for the region to snap to the eighth-notes, it's usually not what we want.
      Unfortunately, the only way to get around it is to be super careful about how you drag and drop your regions, or how you loop regions. You have to click, hold, drag, and drop at the exact point you want it to land. If you look closely you will see that it still snaps into place, ever so slightly! But if you are off by just half a beat, it will snap into the nearest eighth-note!
      To summarize: Even though it looks like it's moving freely when snap to grid is on, it's still snapping to the grid. However, it can snap to "half-beats" or "eighth-notes" as well, not just the beats represented by vertical lines.
      I hope that helps! If not give me some more details and I will do my best!

    how do u open up the playlist and arrange all the midi chords on the playlist i cant find it

    • @aysymphony
      @aysymphony  Před 2 lety +2

      Hi Noren, I'm not quite sure what you mean by MIDI chords and playlists. I can break down a couple different things that I think you mean, but feel free to reply and clarify if these are incorrect! We want to be as helpful as we can :)
      In this video, we didn't cover MIDI chords or playlists, so let me clarify some music terms as well. A MIDI note is any one note played on the MIDI piano. We can play a MIDI chord by holding down multiple notes at the same time!
      Even though we are playing different notes in this video, we are only playing one at a time, so there aren't any chords. If you want to learn more about chords, check out this video:
      czcams.com/video/crkP3ngNHqQ/video.html&ab_channel=AmericanYouthSymphonyAmericanYouthSymphony
      A playlist usually refers to a list of songs. I'm not sure if you meant the list of MIDI instruments that we saw in this video, or if you mean something else.
      Here's some answers to what I think you may be asking about:
      If you mean finding and choosing MIDI Instruments, check out this part again! 01:29 This will show you how to organize the lists of MIDI instruments by type.
      If you mean editing/arranging the MIDI notes that we just recorded in this video, that's something we cover in the next video! Click this link to jump to the part of the video where we cover that: czcams.com/video/X6HZlV4aHOI/video.html
      Here's how to get to the MIDI editor:
      In the MIDI instrument view (when we're looking at the MIDI piano keys), there's an "Edit" button in the bottom right corner: It's just above the metronome and it looks like a pencil on paper. If you click that, it will open up the edit view. That's where you can move, delete, duplicate, and create MIDI notes! To learn more about that, click that last link!
      Hope that helps!

      Hi! I don't think this is possible in BandLab mobile, as that requires some pretty advanced software. However, it IS possible in BandLab's desktop digital audio workstation Cakewalk: czcams.com/video/XGB3rRYAmMM/video.html
      That video shows how to turn audio into MIDI in cakewalk. At the time of this comment, it appears Cakewalk is free!

      Double tap the timeline at the top of the screen. the timeline is where you see the numbers one. 1, 2, 3 and 4, each with several tick marks in between. Double tapping this area will turn on the red cycle looper. You can then click and drag the sides of the cycle looper to cycle more or less of the session.

      @aysymphony  Před rokem

      You can create all kinds of music on BandLab. If you're referring specifically to a drum beat, then check out this video on making your first drum beat in BandLab. czcams.com/video/zskW2QOT6ZA/video.html&ab_channel=AmericanYouthSymphony
      Bandlab allows you to program drums, play/program virtual instruments, record vocals, and even apply affects to mix your project.

    How do you screen record and record your voice at the same time?

    • @aysymphony
      @aysymphony  Před 2 lety

      Hi king Nasir, I'm recording on an Iphone, so I can give you those instructions. I put a link to a video explaining the process for Android at the bottom of this comment!
      To screen record on Iphone, you first have to open the "Control Center," also referred to as the "pull-down menu." Basically swipe down from the top right of your screen.
      That's where you'll see the button to screen record. Now if you press the button once, it will start recording your screen. But if you press and HOLD the screen record button, an additional menu will pop up, asking what app you would like to send the recording to.
      Underneath that menu, you will see a button with an image of a microphone. It should say "Microphone Off." If you click the button, it will turn red and say "Microphone On."
      That's it! Now when you start your screen recording, it will record both the internal audio from any apps as well as the phone's mic audio (your voice). Keep in mind you will have to do this every time you reset your phone. By default, the microphone is turned off.
      Also, whenever you record phone audio and your voice at the same time, you should wear headphones. If not, the phone's microphone (input) will pick up the sounds coming out of the phone's speaker (output). This will make your recording sound messy, distorted, and echoed.
      I just looked up the instructions on Android and it looks pretty similar! Here's a link for Android:
      czcams.com/video/2xr5fzyE50c/video.html&ab_channel=HowToTech
      Hope that helps!
