    One question how do i pull up the piano roll on the app?
    I'm new to this app so I'm still trying to learn how everything work's i have prior experience from using FL Studio on laptop

    • @aysymphony
      @aysymphony  Před rokem

      This video shows how to use the MIDI piano to make a melody: czcams.com/video/zlZLOVfPB8s/video.html&ab_channel=AmericanYouthSymphony
      In order to open the piano roll, you will first need to create a MIDI instrument that has a piano layout.
      1. Click the + in the top left corner.
      2. Once you click that, a menu will pop up. select virtual instruments.
      3. Now you will have a menu to navigate all of band lab mobile's virtual instruments. Select any instrument aside from a drum kit, and you will have a piano roll.
      The piano roll has two views, one of a keyboard that is playable, And one of the MIDI editor. In order to access the MIDI editor. Click the icon in the bottom left corner that looks like a stack of horizontal lines.
      I hope that helps! If not, check out the video I linked for some clear visuals.

      Yes, they've changed the interface since these videos were made. The save button now looks like a cloud with a vertical arrow inside it. you can find it still in the top right corner of the screen.

    hey im in 2022 and when im using 808 kit my bass drum is just a quick little thud noise unlike yours, im not sure what the cause of this is though so if anyone knows how to fis you could you please tell me thanks.

    • @aysymphony
      @aysymphony  Před rokem

      Hmmm it may be the speakers you are on. The 808 kit will sound like a quick thud if you are listening on your phone speakers.
      Another thing to think about.... you can always use the EQ effect to modify a sound. In this case, use it to boost the low end (the big boominess) of the 808. Check out our EQ video to see how you can do that: czcams.com/video/sl-LsCzOMW4/video.html

  • @mantamusika

    Any option to raise or lower the note of the kick drum?

    • @user-fs7ui3bf5w
      @user-fs7ui3bf5w Před 2 lety +2

      When you click on a note, it'll turn white. There should be a 'V' at the top right, clicking that will allow you to raise or lower it.

    • @aysymphony
      @aysymphony  Před rokem

      If I understand this correctly, you want to change the pitch of the kick drum, correct? People usually want to do this so they can create different notes for an 808 kick. You can't change the note of the kick drum, but there is a way to get this effect!
      1. Add a "Virtual Instrument." From the virtual instrument select the 909 Drum Machine. (NOT 808!) The 909 will have a short beefy kick drum with NO clear note.
      2. Separately, add another "Virtual Instrument." In the Virtual Instrument menu, select "808s." It has a keyboard logo. These 808 instruments will allow you to program different notes
      3. Create a drumbeat with the 909 drum machine. Use the kick drum.
      4. In the 808 instrument, you can use different notes. But USE THE SAME RHYTHM as the 909 KICK DRUM.
      5. If the rhythm of the 808 and the kick drum are the same, it will sound like your kick drum has different notes! This is how pros get the clear hit of the kick drum with all the juicy boominess of the 808.
      I hope that helps @Manta!

    I can't get the light blue square to be exactly within the lines on my android phone. How can I get the light blue square to fall exactly within the beat lines?

    • @kiarareed5702
      @kiarareed5702 Před rokem +1

      The record button is also gray-ed out and I am unable to press it.

    • @aysymphony
      @aysymphony  Před rokem

      Touch screens can be very inaccurate! I think the quickest fix for this is clicking and HOLDING the square: you will see a little menu pop up. The menu has a button labeled "Q." Click that and your problem should be solved.
      Q stands for quantize. Quantization will make your drums SNAP to the rhythmic grid.

    Is it possible to group 2 tracks into 1?

    • @aysymphony
      @aysymphony  Před rokem

      At this time, I don't think it is possible to group tracks in BandLab Mobile. However, it is possible in BandLab's desktop digital audio workstation Cakewalk. At the time of this comment, it seems Cakewalk is free to download as well!

    • @user-fs7ui3bf5w
      @user-fs7ui3bf5w Před 2 lety +1

      Click the top, red section while in the piano roll or you can still hit that red at the top without being in Piano roll.

    • @aysymphony
      @aysymphony  Před rokem

      Just like they said, you just have to click the red "cycle" at the top of the screen. If you don't see it, click the area at the top of the screen that has the bar numbers and it should become visible. Then you can stretch it to make it loop for more time.

    No MIDI instruments menu in my app.😕

    • @aysymphony
      @aysymphony  Před rokem

      The newer version of the app refers to them as "Virtual Instruments [MIDI]," but you can still find them the same way.
      Hit the + in the top left corner, and a menu will pop up. "Virtual Instruments" is one of those options.
