Dollywood's Splash Country

Dollywood's Splash Country is a 35-acre water park located in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, adjacent to the Dollywood theme park. The park's central theme rests around entertainer Dolly Parton's childhood swimming in the rivers of the Great Smoky Mountains. Dollywood's Splash Country operates from May through September.
Both Dollywood and Dollywood's Splash Country are co-owned by country music star Dolly Parton and the Herschend Family Entertainment Corporation.
Opened in May 2001 in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, Dolly's Splash Country was an addition to the Dollywood Company's theme park. The park was built into the natural terrain of a 25 acres mountainous area adjacent to Dollywood theme park. The park was a $20 million investment ($29.2 million in 2020 dollars) by the Dollywood Company.
To decide on a name for the park, Dolly Parton held a contest to come up with the most original name. Parton received over 16,000 entries. John Torres' entry won, and he and his family were rewarded with five years' worth of seasonal passes and a canoe that was signed by Dolly Parton.
The park opened with attractions such as Mountain Waves wave pool, Raging River Rapids, the Downbound Float Trip lazy river, the Butterfly, Little Creek Falls, Wild River Falls, and Mountain Scream.

As a plus size person what are the weight limits on the rides?
I was part of the design team on the Cascades. Getting everything to fit that you see, and don’t see, was a fun challenge.

Funny enough, the bear fire tower giant bucket scared me as a little kid when I went here with some friends. I thought that if I was standing under the bucket and it dumped water on me, that I would get a concussion and die.
This was a great video. Loved that showed different things. The life jackets for the kids. I haven’t seen that on any other video. Great job!

Great video! My family has visited a different water park the last few year and this year it's Dollywood's Splash Country. I find videos like this make planning so helpful. I do wonder what area is best for renting the chairs, the 2 person chairs? Like what area maybe has less traffic or which area has food, restrooms, etc nearby?

Who far is this water park from Gatlinburg if I stayed in Gatlinburg?

I use a handicap scooter to get around, I have trouble walking long distance. Would I be able to still enjoy the park? Such as the wave pool and the lazy river?
They revamped the kids area (Little Creek Falls) to make it wheelchair accessible, so I don't see why not. Feel free to call Dollywood to confirm.
If you had to pick a location to rent a retreat:cabana with 7-10 yo where would u recommend? And do u think the water will be warm in July

Curious about that traffic pileup in your intro. Is it typical to wait a long time just to get into the park? We have about a 3 hour drive so I'm trying to figure out how much time to allow for travel and getting in. Thanks!
That is during the middle of summer with both parks open. If the parks open at 10am, I would suggest arriving by 9-9:30am. -Ryan

Pretty much everything except fire tower falls is doable IMO.

Where do you put your stuff that can't get wet . Keys , money etc
There are lockers throughout the park. We have never used them, we just bring in the essentials we need into the park and leave things we don't in the car. But if you want to lock something up, that is available.
I'm leaving today to there, wanted to see what all they had to offer. I'm a big fan of water parks then theme parks

For the family rides could I hold my 3 month old on those rides?
I don't believe so, I think there is a minimum height requirement for all riders. I could confirm that after May 13th when they open back up. I will be doing an updated park tour after that.
Is this better than the soaky mountain water park ?

What are the height limits for family rides etc? Does the map specify height limit for each ride before getting in line
Hediye, when you first enter the park there is a height measurement station right by the photo booth. Any other height/weight min/max are posted at line queues.

Is there height requirements on some of the slides?
Yes, height requirements are posted at each entrance. They should be listed on the website too. I plan to be there this year on opening day & will try to capture that for each ride.
Can a single rider go on the water coaster?
I am pretty sure you can't. There is a minimum & maximum weight limit and I don't recall I have ever seen anyone ride alone. I could be wrong, but think they would place you with another party if you were alone.

Some people eat lunch outside, we love utilizing their dinning plan that gets us a meal every time we go, its a fantastic value!
