Not how I imagined Kara Zor-El/Supergirl to be introduced, but I am so glad to have her appear in Young Justice at last. Can’t wait to see what kind of dynamic she and Kon-El/Conner Kent/Superboy will have.

That kind of irrational thinking IS more or less the way addicts tend to go when dealing with issues related to their addiction. Mary was addicted to power and not only knew it, but was taking steps to handle it. However in a moment of stress she relapsed (taking power from her companions to power herself up) and being absolutely unapologetic about it despite the damages caused (her hurting and almost killing Zatanna and her friends and never recognizing any wrongdoing on that front), she was at that point craving more and more of that, her psyche was unstable, she was rationalizing any power craving as a "reward" that she "deserved," not necessarily because that was true, but because she needed it to be true so as to justify her actions. Ultimately, like a lot of addicts that relapsed and called out on it, she... didn't take being denied more of her fix well, and became vulnerable to a predator who offered her JUST what she wanted... Granny Goodness offering her more and more power, as well as the capacity to take it, not unlike a drug dealer pouncing on addicts JUUUUST leaving from an unpleasant AA meeting to sell them meth. So yeah, Mary is being absolutely petty here and in no way justified, but that doesn't mean she's not sympathetic in at least one way, and that is that she's, in a way, yet another victim of something she tried to control, but ultimately failed at. Even irl we can expect recovering addicts to relapse several times in their lives, the point is reminding them that it IS possible to recover once more if such a thing comes to pass and give them said support, however if accompanied by people who would only take advantage of their dependency and use them while enabling their worst impulses, then it's borderline impossible to get them back on track, and that's more or less what happened to Mary. Z did fail her in a way, by never truly making sure she was doing alright afterwards, just like Mary failed herself, but in the end she never stood a chance, cause Granny Goodness was right there... ready to pounce
well, the Teen Titans team don't seem to exist in this YJ universe, so perhaps Starfire teams up with Arsenal and Red Hood to become the Outlaws, a rival team of the Outsiders
It was her pride that took Mary down, same as Black adam, ironic. Have to say Icicle Jr. made me laugh out loud, the best humorous moment of the season.
Mary's story is interesting. She was 100 percent called out correctly about her addiction to power. However, she didn't listen to what others were saying only hearing. So like any addict, she lashed out and ran back to it with honestly the least amount of provocation. Mary's story is about addiction while Garth's was about depression. It's pretty neat to see these stories play out, especially for younger audiences.
@@mayotango1317 because billy is not addicted to power. He does not let the power control him. Instead he knows when he has to stop being Shazam whereas Mary does not. Her using parts of the power is as bad as using it because that is like a meth addict doing heroin instrad of meth.

The powerful thing about this decision is that none of them are brainwashed . Kara was left abandoned in hell while Mary was used and thrown away by Zatana(well she feels like she was and hard to argue that Zatana wasn’t partially using her whole team ). It won’t be as simple as just simple easy mind refresher like Superboy . And they are such powerhouses that it will be quite hard for anyone to match them especially once they are given actual training

The CW Supergirl was a gender-bend of Superman. In the comics, Supergirl was vastly different from her cousin. She had a life in Krypton, She was used to the advanced technology and she had a very hard time connecting with the Earthlings. She was more alone than Superman as she could not have a family of her own unlike Clark, which often made her angry and more prone to emotions. I hope the writers properly explore her character in the series and are faithful to her comic personality.
Ikr. From what I've read (excluding rebirth) comic Kara is usually very hot-headed and ballsy at the start, then she becomes more heroic-like after a while. Girl even became a red lantern for a while yeeesh
Now that I've seen this a couple of times, I realize that honestly, the most interesting thing about this is that Billy Batson might actually get some spotlight as an important character again. It's been 10 years in-universe since season 1, and he's been superheroing and kicking ass as Captain Marvel the entire time. He is a time-tested and hardened member of the Justice League who's had, like, less than 5 lines in the show since the end of season 1. I wanna see Billy matter again, he's cool.
Next season is going to be crazy. Wonder if there’s going to be a huge timeskip since Damian’s been teased for 2 seasons. Also need Starfire to come in as well.

Batman and Superman are around the same age and Krypton exploded over 40yrs ago when Superman is still a infant, so their age is around 40yrs. 40yrs is a suitable age to fight. Unless it’s like a huge timeskip like 20yrs, we would see the dark knight returns. Batman wouldn’t even knew he had a son because the Light is very secretive. The JL weren’t able to find the original Roy harper until 5yrs later. Everyone believed that Jason is dead and so they wouldn’t even know to look for him. Even Superman didn’t know Supergirl was out there captured by the Light for years. Batman wouldn’t know he had a son for years to come.

While I'm glad to see Supergirl around, I am excited to see the story arc of Black Mary. It's going to take Billy and Zatanna to save Mary from herself because Billy is the voice of reason for Mary and Zatanna needs to acknowledge how great of a sorceress/hero, because Mary looks up to her as her teacher, while also stating how absolute power can corrupt one because without power, knowledge is useless, and without knowledge, power is corrupt.
A great sorceress or hero would not be addicted to power to the point of casting any and all morality aside. How can Zatanna acknowledge something that Mary is not?
@@Ares99999 In Mary’s eyes, she believes she needs more power to become a better hero/sorceress and use said power to defeat her enemies. However, even with greater power, Mary was still unable to defeat Flaw, but Traci was able to defeat Flaw because she was using her wits and exploit Flaw’s weak spot. And that’s what Zatanna should have told Mary. Zatanna needs to tell her that she is a great hero/sorceress and that she needs to be smart and creative with her magic and not really on more power, because she doesn’t know where the power comes from and the price for said power.
I remember reading a old fanfic a while back when Young Justice getting a season 3 was nothing but a dream. In it, Kara was also taken in by Darkseid and became one of his Furies. Granted, I'm pretty sure they got inspired by the "Superman/Batman Apocalypse" movie, but its still surprising to see it happen in the actual show. I will be very in shock if its later revealed that Darkseid abducted Wally West and turned him into the Black Racer. As for why Kara was in the Phantom Zone (before Savage found her and gave her to Darkseid), 2 possibilities come to mind: 1)The most popular idea being that her ship went off course and ended up in the Phantom Zone once Krypton blew up. After being handed over to Apokalips, Kara is now mind controlled, either by Desaad or Granny Goodness, into being a soldier for Darkseid. 2)This version of Kara is a delinquent who got mixed in with a bad crowd and committed a crime that landed her a supposed short sentence in the Phantom Zone (before Krypton blew up). She evaded Zod and the other Kryptonian criminals and developed Zone sickness, which makes her susceptible to manipulation, in this case, for Darkseid.
I like the 2nd theory, Kara’s always known to be kinda brash and head strong, but most teenage girls are (I promise that’s not a sexist comment, I have 7 Nieces and they have some bite to back up their bark). But I was kinda worried she’d been to the zone sorta like a Juvie thing, would Krypton even utilize the zone so loosely? I’m hoping that they’ll keep the backstory that she’d be tasked with protecting baby Kal on earth, then seeing the time difference would cause a form of realization within her, because Darkseid having a Loose-Cannon Krytonian as a member of his honor guard is unsettling, she may never recover mentally from all the blood on her hands. Darkseid just sees the people around him as weapons, and he’s only waiting to pull the trigger.
Kara was sent to the phantom zone by herself. So does that mean that her dad sent her there in a last-ditch effort to save her before Krypton was destroyed? Perhaps Kara's dad believed she would be safe from harm in the phantom zone. Eventually someone would go looking for or find the last Kryptonians. Even if they were criminals, they would be released and in the process find Kara. Was that Zor-El's thought process? I'm also hoping that Kara will be easier to turn into a hero since she seems to be afflicted by zone sickness. Whereas Mary Bromfield has been completely corrupted by her power.
in the supergirl tv show kara was also send to earth. she was send to earth so she could take care of clark, but something went wrong and she landed in the phantom zone. after years she was freed and lived on earth. i highly recommend he movie Superman/Batman: Apocalypse she was also in there. i think that the writers took a lot of inspiration from that movie
I could see the theme for next season.. Mary, Kara, and Jason getting revenge for how each of them felt betrayed in some way, while also being manipulated.

I believe there was a supergirl embargo that was finally lifted not allowing them to use her until recently. The same goes for the Wonder Women family (Diana was added last minute in s1) and Cassie was added to season 2 even though they had hoped to involve Donny Troy or Cassie in season 1 to be a founding member.
So my guess is that Just before Krypton's tragic end Zor-El in an act of desperation used a phantom zone projector to send his daughter Kara into the phantom zone until just recently she was freed by Klarion and offered to Darkseid. Either she's been hypotized in some way or her mind was also broken from her decades in the phantom zone similar with what happened to Conner.
really glad that they finally introduced Supergirl in this show! I really hope season 5 gets confirmed so that Kara Zor-El eventually becomes the supeheroine she's meant to be and really become Supergirl on the show.
You know what I love about this? Supergirl looks about Conner's external age. It's nice to see her as a teen again ever since that nonsense they pulled in CW, which was almost a decade ago now that I think about it. Damn
Nice to have confirmation that Mary joined Granny Goodness as one of her female furies. It's such a shame that she joined due to a combination of misunderstanding, bad decisions, insecurities, and just downright vulnerability, things that allow Darkseid to prey and control people. Such a shame that Mary chose the wrong path. Another shame is Big Barda still remaining a member of the furies. Apparently Superman saving her life wasn't enough. Maybe Scott Free can help her escape from Darkseid Scott free. The biggest surprise was seeing Supergirl as a member of the female furies. We were already set up to see her, but not as a servant of Darkseid. Not exactly the first time Supergirl was turned to evil and not even the time Supergirl was a minion of Darkseid, it is sad to see Supergirl being evil before she even meets her cousin Superman. It makes you wonder what events transpired to lead Supergirl to this point. Hopefully there's another season of young justice to not only shed light on Supergirl's situation, but to save all three girls from being permanent servants of Darkseid.
It is possible that barda is just keeping up appearances in front of darkseid. And that tie in is how the heroes could possibly find out about the other furies.

Well, apparently Kara was sent into the Phantom Zone shortly before Krypton's destruction, but she never had any contact with Zod and his stooges. Working theory right now is that she was sent there by her mother as a last-ditch attempt to save her when they couldn't send her with her cousin, for whatever reason. Since nobody knew she was in the Phantom Zone, she lost her mind after all those years. Considering how unstable and suggestible Connor became after a few months, one can't help but wonder just how badly hurt the poor girl is from 40 years ALONE in the Zone, even Connor had Zod to help ground him, for better or worse, and it all makes sense and ties up into how she could be molded into a minion for Darkseid. Probably was led into believing she was abandoned in the Zone and thus betrayed and made angry, bitter and resentful
When Klarion was travelling through time to find Zatanna and her team (heroes), he ended up visiting Barda in Apokolips for like a brief second. That was foreshadowing that she will eventually turn against Darkseid and Granny.
im glad they didn't introduce Scott Free/ Mr.Miracle in this season. i bet in season 5 he will play a big role in helping to free Big Barda, Mary and Kara from Darkseids evil. or at least big barda. id love to seem how the son of Highfather would learn of how true heritage, then escape apokolips, trying to bring the furies with him.
I was expecting Supergirl to have appeared way before season 4. She probably had no choice but to enter the phantom zone or else die along with her parents and planet.

I’m happy that Kara finally made an appearance. But I’m not happy that she didn’t crash down to Earth and being found be Clark, Conner, and the Kent’s. I just hope that when Clark meets her for the first time, he will be able to bring her back to the light and become the hero we all know her to be. And I know that he’ll be able to since they are cousins and that he has done it before in Superman and Batman Apocalypse
I mean, honestly, while I definitely want to see her redeemed later, having her as one of Darkseid's furys is a much more interesting thing than her actual origin story to me at least. I never really liked her origin being "Clark 2.0 but with a time delay", especially since her existence alone already kinda lessens the idea of the whole "last Kryptonian" stuff Superman had going on. But if she starts out as an enemy first it'd make her entrance more unique and exiting.
That's interesting take on Kara. Some months ago I made a pitch for a Superman trilogy and my idea for Kara was to introduce her as villain (in my pitch she would be working for Mongul instead of Darkseid) and have Superman be the one who inspires her to go against the tyrant and join the heroes side.

I kinda have an idea she may go as a spy to the team pretending to be a lost girl to be taken in by the heroes. Similar to the situation with Superboy in season 1 and Terra in season 3 when they were both spies for the Light. Then she would betray them, but have a change of heart

Well Season 5 is gonna be Hella interesting. Wonder who's gonna voice her? Summer Glau? Erica Lindbeck? Kahri Walhgren? The actress who voiced Jack and Nora in Mass Effect Trilogy and FO4? While I do expect Supergirl to be saved since chances are she's being brainwashed or lied too and Big Barda to turn on Darkseid, assuming Mister Miracle shows up, Ido hope Mary does not get redeemed and that she gets taken down a peg in the end; unless she's under mind control, there is no justification in joining Darkseid.
I remember Black Mary from her appearance in DC Countdown, where she got her dark suit and powers from. A strong reference from there can be seen here too, where she also eventually joins Darkseid. This is carried on until Final Crisis.
Hopefully we get season 5 announced. Mister Miracle and Big Barda are one of my favorite DC couples. Also we just saw Brainy. I’d love it if he and Kara get together in this universe too and the Legion continues to play an active role (like Bart).

I can see how this arc would go down. Barda will most likely turn on Darkseid and head to Earth to warn Clark and Zatanna about Kara and Mary being made Fury's, the former most likely through brianwashing and Mary through manipulation and lies, and so the three of them put together a team to free the other Fury's. They're basically combining 3 similar story arcs into one. The arc from the comics where Mary was manipulated by Granny and Darkseid to become one of the Fury's. The arc used in the comics and the film; Batman and Superman/Apokolips, where Kara was captured and brainwashed by Darkseid. And the arc used in multiple shows and the comics where Barda left the Fury's and became a hero.
I can't speak about Mary but Kara was literally in the phantom zone for forty years. And we saw how messed up Connor got after being in their alone for just a couple weeks. All the Light had to do was break Kara out and tell her her family didn't try to save her from the zone which is technically true.
Why brainwash she was stuck in that hell hole for 40 years and would of remained for eternity unless the light got her out. Dying on krypton would of been the better option vs being sent to the phantom zone to save her life.
Yo! I was losing it when I seen supergirl! I knew she was gonna pop up sooner or later! They kept teasing her when Zod kept mentioning “Zor-El and his brother” so I’m like oh, then if Superman has an uncle… then his cousin must be out there, somewhere
I really hope season 5 starts with another time jump and they are all friends. No explanation given. Then forget about them halfway through the season and introduce brand new characters. That's the direction this franchise should take.

I actually quite enjoy this method, it’s not the same as every other supergirl story, but also ties her to other concepts like the phantom zone as well as Darkseid having a thing for Kryptonian recruits by his side
I know right. I argue that his deception last season was cruel but the benefits was best. After all they did stumble upon the Anti-Life Equation, before that, cleared their names and delt a good blow to the villians.

Well, at least now we know who from the House of El is in the phantom zone. It was Zor El, Jor El's brother and Kara's father. It makes sense. Zor El in the DC comics is an abusive jerk. So if they go for another season, we will probably see that.
No, they just said that Kara-Zor-El got sent to the zone by herself. And General Zod really hates Jor-El and Zor-El, he definitely wouldn’t not want them to be his underlings. The House of El that was part of Zod’s group was identified as Kru-El, who in the comics is a paternal cousin of Jor-El and Zor-El and a disgraced member of the House of El. Either Zor-El was on Krypton when it exploded, or he is in a bottled city of Brainiac’s like Kandor.
@@dealinginfiction We don’t know who sent Kara-Zor-El to the Phantom Zone decades ago, that’s one of the remaining mysteries/unresolved plot points. It could have been her parents sending her their as maybe a last minute ditch effort to save Kara from Krypton’s destruction (perhaps Zor-El didn’t create a rocket for Kara in this continuity) or perhaps it was the only way for them to have Kara escape Brainiac if she and her parents had been trapped and “collected” by Brainiac (since Brainiac usually steals Kandor in most stories).
I like that a lot, but I guess it will depend on what the season will focus on. Second was the invasion of Kroloteans then the Reach, third season had the whole Outsiders drama, and this one was focused on the Phantom Zone. Which we never could've predicted, so who knows what the next focus will be on
She was sent to the Phantom Zone!? I guess that is one way to do the age gap thing between her and Supes, though I was expecting something like Power Girl but I guess that's not the type of world we live in

Mary's story is interesting. She was 100 percent called out correctly about her addiction to power. However, she didn't listen to what others were saying only hearing. So like any addict, she lashed out and ran back to it with honestly the least amount of provocation. Mary's story is about addiction while Garth's was about depression. It's pretty neat to see these stories play out, especially for younger audiences.

And they are such powerhouses that it will be quite hard for anyone to match them especially once they are given actual training

The CW Supergirl was a gender-bend of Superman. In the comics, Supergirl was vastly different from her cousin. She had a life in Krypton, She was used to the advanced technology and she had a very hard time connecting with the Earthlings. She was more alone than Superman as she could not have a family of her own unlike Clark, which often made her angry and more prone to emotions. I hope the writers properly explore her character in the series and are faithful to her comic personality.

Now that I've seen this a couple of times, I realize that honestly, the most interesting thing about this is that Billy Batson might actually get some spotlight as an important character again. It's been 10 years in-universe since season 1, and he's been superheroing and kicking ass as Captain Marvel the entire time. He is a time-tested and hardened member of the Justice League who's had, like, less than 5 lines in the show since the end of season 1. I wanna see Billy matter again, he's cool.

Batman and Superman are around the same age and Krypton exploded over 40yrs ago when Superman is still a infant, so their age is around 40yrs. 40yrs is a suitable age to fight. Unless it’s like a huge timeskip like 20yrs, we would see the dark knight returns. Batman wouldn’t even knew he had a son because the Light is very secretive. The JL weren’t able to find the original Roy harper until 5yrs later. Everyone believed that Jason is dead and so they wouldn’t even know to look for him. Even Superman didn’t know Supergirl was out there captured by the Light for years. Batman wouldn’t know he had a son for years to come.

While I'm glad to see Supergirl around, I am excited to see the story arc of Black Mary. It's going to take Billy and Zatanna to save Mary from herself because Billy is the voice of reason for Mary and Zatanna needs to acknowledge how great of a sorceress/hero, because Mary looks up to her as her teacher, while also stating how absolute power can corrupt one because without power, knowledge is useless, and without knowledge, power is corrupt.
A great sorceress or hero would not be addicted to power to the point of casting any and all morality aside. How can Zatanna acknowledge something that Mary is not?
@@Ares99999 In Mary’s eyes, she believes she needs more power to become a better hero/sorceress and use said power to defeat her enemies. However, even with greater power, Mary was still unable to defeat Flaw, but Traci was able to defeat Flaw because she was using her wits and exploit Flaw’s weak spot. And that’s what Zatanna should have told Mary. Zatanna needs to tell her that she is a great hero/sorceress and that she needs to be smart and creative with her magic and not really on more power, because she doesn’t know where the power comes from and the price for said power.
I remember reading a old fanfic a while back when Young Justice getting a season 3 was nothing but a dream. In it, Kara was also taken in by Darkseid and became one of his Furies. Granted, I'm pretty sure they got inspired by the "Superman/Batman Apocalypse" movie, but its still surprising to see it happen in the actual show. I will be very in shock if its later revealed that Darkseid abducted Wally West and turned him into the Black Racer.
As for why Kara was in the Phantom Zone (before Savage found her and gave her to Darkseid), 2 possibilities come to mind:
1)The most popular idea being that her ship went off course and ended up in the Phantom Zone once Krypton blew up. After being handed over to Apokalips, Kara is now mind controlled, either by Desaad or Granny Goodness, into being a soldier for Darkseid.
2)This version of Kara is a delinquent who got mixed in with a bad crowd and committed a crime that landed her a supposed short sentence in the Phantom Zone (before Krypton blew up). She evaded Zod and the other Kryptonian criminals and developed Zone sickness, which makes her susceptible to manipulation, in this case, for Darkseid.
I like the 2nd theory, Kara’s always known to be kinda brash and head strong, but most teenage girls are (I promise that’s not a sexist comment, I have 7 Nieces and they have some bite to back up their bark). But I was kinda worried she’d been to the zone sorta like a Juvie thing, would Krypton even utilize the zone so loosely? I’m hoping that they’ll keep the backstory that she’d be tasked with protecting baby Kal on earth, then seeing the time difference would cause a form of realization within her, because Darkseid having a Loose-Cannon Krytonian as a member of his honor guard is unsettling, she may never recover mentally from all the blood on her hands. Darkseid just sees the people around him as weapons, and he’s only waiting to pull the trigger.

Kara was sent to the phantom zone by herself. So does that mean that her dad sent her there in a last-ditch effort to save her before Krypton was destroyed? Perhaps Kara's dad believed she would be safe from harm in the phantom zone. Eventually someone would go looking for or find the last Kryptonians. Even if they were criminals, they would be released and in the process find Kara. Was that Zor-El's thought process? I'm also hoping that Kara will be easier to turn into a hero since she seems to be afflicted by zone sickness. Whereas Mary Bromfield has been completely corrupted by her power.
in the supergirl tv show kara was also send to earth. she was send to earth so she could take care of clark, but something went wrong and she landed in the phantom zone. after years she was freed and lived on earth.
i highly recommend he movie Superman/Batman: Apocalypse she was also in there. i think that the writers took a lot of inspiration from that movie

I believe there was a supergirl embargo that was finally lifted not allowing them to use her until recently. The same goes for the Wonder Women family (Diana was added last minute in s1) and Cassie was added to season 2 even though they had hoped to involve Donny Troy or Cassie in season 1 to be a founding member.
So my guess is that Just before Krypton's tragic end Zor-El in an act of desperation used a phantom zone projector to send his daughter Kara into the phantom zone until just recently she was freed by Klarion and offered to Darkseid. Either she's been hypotized in some way or her mind was also broken from her decades in the phantom zone similar with what happened to Conner.

Nice to have confirmation that Mary joined Granny Goodness as one of her female furies. It's such a shame that she joined due to a combination of misunderstanding, bad decisions, insecurities, and just downright vulnerability, things that allow Darkseid to prey and control people. Such a shame that Mary chose the wrong path. Another shame is Big Barda still remaining a member of the furies. Apparently Superman saving her life wasn't enough. Maybe Scott Free can help her escape from Darkseid Scott free. The biggest surprise was seeing Supergirl as a member of the female furies. We were already set up to see her, but not as a servant of Darkseid. Not exactly the first time Supergirl was turned to evil and not even the time Supergirl was a minion of Darkseid, it is sad to see Supergirl being evil before she even meets her cousin Superman. It makes you wonder what events transpired to lead Supergirl to this point. Hopefully there's another season of young justice to not only shed light on Supergirl's situation, but to save all three girls from being permanent servants of Darkseid.
It is possible that barda is just keeping up appearances in front of darkseid. And that tie in is how the heroes could possibly find out about the other furies.

Well, apparently Kara was sent into the Phantom Zone shortly before Krypton's destruction, but she never had any contact with Zod and his stooges. Working theory right now is that she was sent there by her mother as a last-ditch attempt to save her when they couldn't send her with her cousin, for whatever reason.
Since nobody knew she was in the Phantom Zone, she lost her mind after all those years. Considering how unstable and suggestible Connor became after a few months, one can't help but wonder just how badly hurt the poor girl is from 40 years ALONE in the Zone, even Connor had Zod to help ground him, for better or worse, and it all makes sense and ties up into how she could be molded into a minion for Darkseid. Probably was led into believing she was abandoned in the Zone and thus betrayed and made angry, bitter and resentful
When Klarion was travelling through time to find Zatanna and her team (heroes), he ended up visiting Barda in Apokolips for like a brief second. That was foreshadowing that she will eventually turn against Darkseid and Granny.
im glad they didn't introduce Scott Free/ Mr.Miracle in this season. i bet in season 5 he will play a big role in helping to free Big Barda, Mary and Kara from Darkseids evil. or at least big barda. id love to seem how the son of Highfather would learn of how true heritage, then escape apokolips, trying to bring the furies with him.
I was expecting Supergirl to have appeared way before season 4. She probably had no choice but to enter the phantom zone or else die along with her parents and planet.
They need to introduce Starfire and Raven too. Both 9f them haven't appeared in any of the episodes. Also they need to introduce Mr Miracle so that Big Barda can be turned good.

I never really liked her origin being "Clark 2.0 but with a time delay", especially since her existence alone already kinda lessens the idea of the whole "last Kryptonian" stuff Superman had going on. But if she starts out as an enemy first it'd make her entrance more unique and exiting.

That's interesting take on Kara. Some months ago I made a pitch for a Superman trilogy and my idea for Kara was to introduce her as villain (in my pitch she would be working for Mongul instead of Darkseid) and have Superman be the one who inspires her to go against the tyrant and join the heroes side.

Barda will most likely turn on Darkseid and head to Earth to warn Clark and Zatanna about Kara and Mary being made Fury's, the former most likely through brianwashing and Mary through manipulation and lies, and so the three of them put together a team to free the other Fury's.
They're basically combining 3 similar story arcs into one.
The arc from the comics where Mary was manipulated by Granny and Darkseid to become one of the Fury's.
The arc used in the comics and the film; Batman and Superman/Apokolips, where Kara was captured and brainwashed by Darkseid.

I can't speak about Mary but Kara was literally in the phantom zone for forty years. And we saw how messed up Connor got after being in their alone for just a couple weeks. All the Light had to do was break Kara out and tell her her family didn't try to save her from the zone which is technically true.
Why brainwash she was stuck in that hell hole for 40 years and would of remained for eternity unless the light got her out. Dying on krypton would of been the better option vs being sent to the phantom zone to save her life.
I don't know what they plan for Mary, but a step in the right direction to redeem Kara is to show her Superman's fortress of solitude.
Yo! I was losing it when I seen supergirl! I knew she was gonna pop up sooner or later! They kept teasing her when Zod kept mentioning “Zor-El and his brother” so I’m like oh, then if Superman has an uncle… then his cousin must be out there, somewhere
I really hope season 5 starts with another time jump and they are all friends. No explanation given. Then forget about them halfway through the season and introduce brand new characters. That's the direction this franchise should take.

But I was hoping she’d be a hero, like maybe she’d crash land on earth like Superman did and they’d have an entire story arc about how she could get a handle on her powers
Or maybe she’d be found in the phantom zone as the only Kryptonian left unconscious or something and the Heroes would try to help her or something

I actually quite enjoy this method, it’s not the same as every other supergirl story, but also ties her to other concepts like the phantom zone as well as Darkseid having a thing for Kryptonian recruits by his side

I know right. I argue that his deception last season was cruel but the benefits was best. After all they did stumble upon the Anti-Life Equation, before that, cleared their names and delt a good blow to the villians.

Well, at least now we know who from the House of El is in the phantom zone. It was Zor El, Jor El's brother and Kara's father. It makes sense. Zor El in the DC comics is an abusive jerk. So if they go for another season, we will probably see that.
No, they just said that Kara-Zor-El got sent to the zone by herself. And General Zod really hates Jor-El and Zor-El, he definitely wouldn’t not want them to be his underlings. The House of El that was part of Zod’s group was identified as Kru-El, who in the comics is a paternal cousin of Jor-El and Zor-El and a disgraced member of the House of El.
Either Zor-El was on Krypton when it exploded, or he is in a bottled city of
Brainiac’s like Kandor.

@@dealinginfiction We don’t know who sent Kara-Zor-El to the Phantom Zone decades ago, that’s one of the remaining mysteries/unresolved plot points. It could have been her parents sending her their as maybe a last minute ditch effort to save Kara from Krypton’s destruction (perhaps Zor-El didn’t create a rocket for Kara in this continuity) or perhaps it was the only way for them to have Kara escape Brainiac if she and her parents had been trapped and “collected” by Brainiac (since Brainiac usually steals Kandor in most stories).

I like that a lot, but I guess it will depend on what the season will focus on. Second was the invasion of Kroloteans then the Reach, third season had the whole Outsiders drama, and this one was focused on the Phantom Zone. Which we never could've predicted, so who knows what the next focus will be on
