    It's awesome seeing Zatara putting Nabu in his place by pointing out the truth that Nabu refused to acknowledge, that no one's ever accomplished anything without the help of friends and loved ones, especially not Doctor Fate. Except, for me as a Christian, this seemed somewhat disturbing. Consider the fact that the Bible specifically brings up sorcery as abominations. As stated in Deuteronomy 18: "10 There shall not be found among you anyone who burns his son or his daughter as an offering,[a] anyone who practices divination or tells fortunes or interprets omens, or a sorcerer 11 or a charmer or a medium or a necromancer or one who inquires of the dead, 12 for whoever does these things is an abomination to the Lord. And because of these abominations the Lord your God is driving them out before you."
      Magic throughout the Bible is often seen as evil. You can see this also when Saul is condemned by Samuel for disturbing his spirit using necromancy from the Witch of Endor.
      So for Zatara to bring up his faith while practicing magic doesn't seem right...

      @@Exl6243 That's why it's important to separate fiction from reality. It's completely fine to enjoy stories involving witches, wizards and dark magic that also intertwine faith, such as Lord of the Rings and Percy Jackson, because they aren't trying to disprove the existence of God - they're building a world where Christian faith is an important part of certain characters' lives as they deal with magic. It's a touch of realism that doesn't take away from the fun of spells and mystic creatures :D

      @@FloRence-gl8fx It's fair that this is fiction, so I can get that viewpoint.
      However, on the point that other works invoke magic and faith: works like Lord of the Rings and Percy Jackson don't specifically invoke Christianity. Rather, they invoke a separate world completely separate from Christianity. Lord of the Rings, specifically, invokes its own religion with its own beliefs and mythology as a tale that relates to Christianity. Young Justice's point, however, is a specific endorsement that you can be a Christian AND perform magic.
      Since this is a work of fiction, however, this is why I say that this is my personal viewpoint. If you don't see it as a little off, that's fine by me.

Why are you telling me?” Also, I just realized it’s in a sequence. Phantom Stranger tells a story to Vandal Savage, Vandal Savage tells a story to Dr Fate, Dr Fate tells a story to Zatara. Makes you wonder if the next episode will be either Old Zatara telling a story to Adult Zatanna once everything is said & done, or some sort of flashback of a younger Zatara telling a story to a younger Zatanna.

    Too many shows try to do things like this for one single ideal or belief to get brownie points from said community.
    Young Justice does it to add realistic diversities among the characters, and the show does it successfully without sacrificing characteristics or being overly political.
    It is interesting to see a show that focuses episodes on the characters themselves, no matter how small- without hindering plot; even adding on to it at times seamlessly.

Then, somewhere in the middle it became more aggressive. Not in a bad way, but it was more experimental and sometime felt like they were trying to appease someone. By this latest season though, it feels like they have found the balance they needed and moment's like this with Zatara showing both his own faith and respect for others really shows this to me. He is Catholic. Despite saying that magic does not exist, the Vatican more or less tells its followers that:
      1. Only priests can do "holy magic", liek exorcisms, etc;
      2. You can't do magic/practice magic.
      So the vatican kore.or less acknowledges magic, thus more.lenient about it.
      Here in my country, the local "druid" practices are still, well, being practiced by some healers, but more.or less under the supervision of the church and, the healer must maintain like 6 hours of uninterrupted prayers everyday.
      So what I'm saying is that, if a member of the Catholic church were to somehow gain magic powers one day, the church would want or keep it secret but would make sure that the follower practices magic for the good of humanity and for the glory of God.
      Roman Catholicism is the most lenient version of christianity I know.

      All so called gods are just spoiled brats with power using that power to take advantage of life regardless if they say it’s for good or evil hence why they call themselves gods
      Superman for example is said to be like the gods but what makes him different is he knows he isn’t a god because he isn’t one to think power makes one as such, hence is a true hero
